tnx for the info larry..couture is such a great fighter that i think he can go toe-to-toe with fedor in a fight; i think he is more than a match for fedor..

but for me, i hope fedor can beat randy once they fight, i think its about time someone beat couture, i think he is one of the best mma fighters of all time, but he should give the younger lads a chance, he's won it all already, i thought gonzaga will be able to beat him, but destiny was against him, the early domination of couture during the fight created the cut that caused his downfall..

can't wait to watch hendo vs jackson, i want to see how good hollywood really is :D..

Hendo got his belt when he beat Murilo Bustamante for the vacant championship

Welterweight (183lbs) was new then and they needed a champion

He got the Middleweight (205lbs) championship by beating it out of Wandy at the last Pride show in Vegas.

Watch him fight, and you'll believe the hype. He's strong and quick, and he's not afraid to trade, nor fight at a heavier weight class (he's a natural 185lb'er but will gladly mix it up with Light Heavies, even Heavyweights like Nog)

he's the real deal IMO.

I agree with you Larry that Hendo can be considered as one of the real deal in MMA. I first saw him fight way back when MMA was not that popular yet, when Rings or King of the Kings tourney was still being telecast in a japanese channel (Wowow I think?). He won by beating 2 guys during the eliminations and by beating Gilbert Yvel, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Renato "Babalu" Sobral to win the finals. That must be tough luck hehehe considering the quality of fighters he went through hehehehe.

IMHO, by conquering the 183 and 205 lbs belts in Pride he can be considered as one of the best fighters in MMA because most of the good fighters in that category were in Pride during that time. IMO, Hendo will give Rampage a hard time this Sunday :)

Isn't it that Hendo and Randy Couture used to be stablemates in Team Quest?

Cheers!

I agree very much with Larry.

Last time , I picked Rampage to win over Chuck.

Now, It's Hendo written all over Rampage's face!

Sana nga lang hindi pumasok sa kanya yung Right Hand KO Attitude nya. That's one weakness Hendo has. He always uses his right hand to KNOCK out the opponent thinking that with that single punch, he can KTFO of them :)

Go Hollywood!

and yeah, Randy and Dan are the only ones to hold two belts of different weightclasses but it's only Hendo who has the two belts on his shoulders at the same time :)

Fedor vs Couture would be the pinnacle of Dana White's tenure as UFC head, not the signing of Wanderlei Silva...

^ after Wand lost 2 in a row, the myth shifted fully to Fedor... Fedor has no chance if he signs with everybody else but Zuffa, even if Frank Shamrock runs his mouth and moves up 2 weight classes to make money off Fedor's name...

my picks for UFC 75:

1. Hendo over Rampage (Rampage got KO'd by the dude Hollywood KO'd for his strap, plus the fact that Hollywood is miles better than Rampage)

2. Bisping over Hamill (Hamill has to have traces of the Tito Ortiz game since he's training with him, but as proven by Chuck Liddell, a superior striker with a more than decent ground game can beat the severely superior rassler)

3. Cro Cop over Kongo (Kongo is simply too inexperienced, and he hasn't faced anybody, kickboxing and MMA, in the same level as Cro Cop)

4. Alessio Sakara over Houston Alexander (simply because of the experience factor, but then again look at what happened to Jardine. plus the fact that now Alexander trains full time.)

5. Marcus Davis over Paul Taylor (although Taylor has faced good competition, even derailing the hype machine of Zelg Galesic, Davis is riding the crest of a 9-fight winning streak, with only 2 fights going the distance.)

so true, especially for the Pride MW division (205lbs), it was really stacked at the time.

and yes Randy and Hendo were teammates at Team Quest, but Randy opened up his own (Extreme Couture). One thing to note is that Randy picked Rampage to win over Hendo. hmmmmmm

Now to play the devil's advocate :)

Rampage is a very tough and strong competitor. we've all seen how his hands looked against Chuck Liddel, who is arguably one of the best strikers in the MMA game. He's a good wrestler who can hold his own against take downs from the best of them. And Hendo beating down Silva who beat down Rampage doesn't mean anything because MMA math doesn't really work. Rampage also has a great chin, Wandy couldn't take him out, Page lost but wasn't KO'd.

Rampage is bigger, a more technical striker, arguably stronger than Hendo, and has a lot of heart.

This is one of the most evenly matched fights in UFC history. I won't be surprised if this fight goes to a decision, because I don't see either one going down.

One thing's for sure, this is something a true MMA fan won't miss.

I think Wandy KO'd Rampage once. KO (knees) - rampage was teetering on the ropes - and the other one was referee stoppage.

MMA math doesn't work.. but im going for Hollywood this time around =)
