That's the prevailing pre-conception by conservatists that sex is an act performed by two people who are in love, especially by those holding on to that romantic idea that they'd be giving themselves up to that "special someone". Today, since most relationships that people have are mostly casual, having sex doesn't neccessarily hold on to that old adage, though most of our filipinas still hope that their first time will be with their boyfriends/ crushes.
