LostCommand
To my absent friends, I was packing my things the other day in preparation for moving abroad. I have been sent on a three year contract overseas to help out with the design and engineering concerns of other oil companies. It is a heavy responsibility, and I am among the youngest to be given such. It struck me how so few are the things I own. I could fit all including my clothes into a few balikbayan boxes. My life in the field, on the move, working both with plain laborers and state of the art hundred million dollar machinery, has meant that I have had little opportunity to accumulate anything material for myself. Eight years with no permanent home. And now, again, I am moving on. Destiny has not yet seen fit to let me settle. Two of the boxes concerning personal records, old books, plaques, and sentimental keepsakes will be sent to my spiritual home, the old scarred ancestral stone and wood house high on the cold plateaus of North Luzon, my family's mountain retreat. The other two, containing my uniforms, handbooks, manuals, and work gear, will be airlifted to my new location somewhere in Malaysia or Singapore. As always, I pack light and live on just the basics and a few good books, nothing more. Another mission, this time, under another banner. Another group of people to lead, to bring under me all over again. A different mission, yes, but the same rules apply; hard work, smart moves, clear insights, little tolerance for failure, and always always look out for each other. My friends, it struck me as I finished packing these few boxes that you are the most important things I have. It is right that the boxes are so few, for they are but material doodles. They and whatever savings I have in the bank can be taken away from me in an instant. It struck me as so comforting that wherever I go or whatever happens to me, there are people I can call, and if the same should happen to you, that I am here for you to call on. It is not a kind world for us, sometime I dread the thought of having kids and raising them in the tenous times of today. But with good company, as yours, the world gets so much more tenable. I am go off soon, on my own as usual. But never, never, never truly alone. Crispin Antonio Quote Link to comment

sweetpsyche
WHY DO I LOVE THEE?!! I love you because... we can joke around about silly things in that flirty, playful way that makes me feel like I am 16 again and standing on the top of the world I love you because... you believe in us enough to forgive me when I make a mistake, and trust in us enough to start letting yourself forget that I made it. MODERATOR Alex_Corvis Posted October 12, 2003 MODERATOR Share Posted October 12, 2003 I love you because.... I love you Cant explain why, because i dont want to give limitations to my love.Loving youis not admiring the way you looks or anything else about you. I love you because i do. If i tell you i love you because to make me laugh, you\re at par with a goddess, and makes me happy all the time. Quote Link to comment

Domeng Su-gat
MY LAST SEVEN DAYS If I had seven days to liveAnd you'd ask me what to doI'd spent my first six days with God And my last day with you On the first day, I'd ask the Lord aboveTo take care of the one I loveCo'z there's no one else I'd rather haveThan you, my one and only love I'll pray to Him the second dayTo take away your fearsCo'z it'll only break my heartTo see my love in tears. The third day I'd be asking HimTo forgive me from sinsAnd if I may, I'd beg Him pleaseFor another chance to live The fourth day's for ThanksgivingFor the blessings we receiveHe had blessed me when I met YouTHE BEST GIFT I RECEIVED On the fifth day will be prayersFor all of MankindThat all may find peace in their heartsAnd soon will reunite A prayer for preparationWill be on the sixth day,That He may take me to HeavenAnd not the other way I'll thank God for the seventh day,Co'z I'll pass my time with youThat before I leave this world, you'll know...How much I LOVE YOU Quote Link to comment

misbyutiful
How do I love thee?Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of Being and ideal Grace. I love thee to the level of everyday’s Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight. I love thee freely, as men strive for Right; I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise. I love thee with the passion put to use In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith. I love thee with a love I seemed to lose With my lost saints, - I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life! – and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death.  :* Quote Link to comment
