At the start of his administration, President Rodrigo Duterte obtained an excellent +79 net trust rating, according to the latest Social Weather Stations survey released on Wednesday, July 13.

According to the results of the SWS survey, first published on BusinessWorld, 84% of respondents said they had "much trust" in Duterte, 5% had "little trust," and 11% were undecided, for a net +79 trust rating.

The survey was conducted from June 24 to 27, 2016 – just a few days before Duterte's inauguration – among 1,200 respondents, 300 each from the 4 major regions, Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

There is a +/-3 margin of error for the national percentage.

Duterte's trust rating at the start of his administration is comparable to that of former President Benigno Aquino III. Aquino began his presidency with an "excellent" net trust rating of +83.

The SWS classifies net trust ratings of at least +70 as “excellent."

It's interesting to know what's Pnoy's rating at the end of his term.

I think it was still positive (50+), a feat in itself as it is more than what we can say for other outgoing Presidents and this is despite criticisms of the supposed ineptitude of his Administration. Althought the feat of Duterte is that immediately after the election, he only had a +26 approval rating which has now shot up to +79. As opposed to Aquino who already had that excellent rating from the elections up to his first days in office. This reflects optimism in the country, which we need in this transition period so as not to spook investors away.

What would be more interesting is where Duterte will spend this high initial political capital. PNoy spent his pushing for the RH Bill. Given the present media reports, Duterte will probably spend it pushing for the Death Penalty or perhaps on the proposed bilateral negotiations with China.

The gov't and the MILF agree to work together on the campaign vs. illegal drugs in MILF affected areas

The MILF agreed to submit to the gov't a list of drug personalities identified in its area. Law enforcement agencies to verify.

since when naging law enforcer ang MILF?

who will be make sure that they dont abuse their "power"?

kapag pulis nag abuso may Napolcom, Ombudsman, CSC, etc.

kapag MILF umabuso, ano gagawin ng biktima?

According to sir filibustero, nagsimula si duterte ng +26, now he's at +79, so hindi lahat nagsisimula from the top. Unless you have facts to dispute it sir jopoc.

100 days nanaman... dont take it literally sasabihin ng mga followers ni duterte.

figuro of speech lang ang 100 days

Hindi naman sinabi how much will it improve. So mahirap i quantify ito. EDSA lang ba ang magiging basehan nito? Maghigpit lang ang HPG sa traffic discipline sigurado may konting improvement na kahit papano.

In Quezon, drug supply low in wake of killings

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/795835/in-quezon-drug-supply-low-in-wake-of-killings

LUCENA CITY—The prevailing climate of fear among drug users and peddlers has shrunk the supply and market for illegal drugs in Quezon province, police and sources in the underground trade said.

“The scarcity of ‘shabu’ from regular sources is now being felt because of the lack of supply and the prevailing fear among pushers and users,” said a confessed drug pusher in this city.

The source said drug dependents, who could not control the urge to use drugs, are forced to buy shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) at a higher price.

“Their usual P100 per hit (referring to a granule of shabu that is enough for one user) in the past now costs P300 to P500, if they can find a pusher who is brave enough to sell drugs today,” he said.

In Quezon, the death toll in drug-related killings rose to 35 since President Duterte was sworn into office on June 30, police reports showed. Most were gunned down by unidentified assassins, leading many to believe they were victims of vigilantes.

The President, during the election campaign, had promised to be unrelenting in the fight against illegal drugs.

Another pusher in Lucena, who has been selling illegal drugs for the past four years, said fear has stricken them due to cases of summary executions of suspected drug pushers.

There are killings almost every day and I personally know one of the victims … Even in my sleep, I can see the barrel of a gun [pointed] at me,” he said.

Poll was taken first week of May, and released right after elections so +26 was Duterte's trust rating by ELECTION DAY. Moved up to +79 by the time of his INAUGURATION. Both conducted by SWS if I remember correctly.

Agree, puhunan yan. "Political Capital" as we would call it. Duterte, like PNoy, now enjoys a large chunk of political capital at the start of his term. And whether this is the true sentiment of the majority or not, the up side for me is that it prevents investors from getting spooked by the skepticism of some people (myself included) about Duterte's administration. We are enjoying economic gains from the previous administration, and if we continue the momentum, we'll enjoy higher economic growth than China whose economic bubble is just about to burst. The last thing we want to do is to jeopardize whatever gains we have already achieved.

Campaign jingle composer named Duterte adviser

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/796015/campaign-jingle-composer-named-duterte-adviser

The rocker is now a presidential adviser.

Musician and businessman Ramon “RJ” Jacinto, who composed the campaign jingle of President Duterte in the May elections, has joined the select few who give him counsel, having been named presidential adviser on economic affairs and information technology communications.

Malacañang on Thursday announced Jacinto’s appointment with the rank of undersecretary.

Popularly known as a guitarist and rock and roll musician, Jacinto helped gather support for Mr. Duterte during the campaign and wrote a jingle for him extolling him as a “man of action without corruption.”

He also owns a radio and TV station, as well as a company with interests in real estate development, retail and manufacturing. His family established Jacinto Steel, considered the pioneer manufacturer of galvanized iron sheets in the country.

Jacinto is the latest entertainment personality to get a post in the Duterte administration.

Earlier, TV host Arnell Ignacio and singer Jimmy Bondoc were named assistant vice presidents of Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. Ignacio handles community relations, while Bondoc is in charge of entertainment.

Former TV host and reporter Katherine de Castro has been named tourism undersecretary for media affairs.

Folk singer Freddie Aguilar, a frequent performer at Mr. Duterte’s campaign rallies, is also reported to be up for the leadership of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

I dont know what to say for now, but let me give the ball to you haters/critics - PAAASOKK!!!
