Yours is a nuclear smile

That suddenly erupts

In a raging white light

 

You blind my eyes from your flaws

And set my cheeks aglow

How can a smile so sweet

 

Be too dangerous to keep?

And how can something warm

Melt my iron heart entire?

 

I clutch at my reason firm

Trying to understand what I can’t

But feel the truth from within

Mistulan na lang ba kitang pangarap?
At di kailanman makakamit?
Paano tatanggapin ng pusong hirap?
Ang damdaming puno ng pghati't pait?

Nais lamang ay pagbigyan kahit sandali;
Ang pag-ibig na sa'yo aking nais ibigay;
Kahit sa kaunti lamang na pagtangi;
Maiparamdam sa'yo pagmamahal kong tunay.

Unrelated episodes of wanting to fall down

 

Whenever I'm like this

I always get

this unrelenting

urge to want

to fall down.

 

No, no, no

place in particular.

 

I could unknowingly

step on an unstable

crack on the floor.

 

I could accidentally

lose my footing; heading

down a flight of stairs.

 

I could unintentionally

take off from a ledge

of the tallest

building in Makati

without anyone knowing

 

Why I was so

obsessed

with living

 

out these

fantasies of

falling, in

 

experiencing

those seconds

of uncertainty

and peace

 

when every part

of me would

cease to function

only to focus on

how I was

supposed to land.

 

After everything,

people would only get to know

the bruises on my skin,

the fractures of my bones,

and the marks I could have left

on the pavement.

I lost track of time
When I fell in love with you;
When we came to be;
Time was rather short;
I crave for it;
And long for you.

As years passed
Time became irrelevant;
A void grew between us;
We grew distant each day;

We lost ourselves.
