It’s fairly common in this (under)world. The whole setting is ripe for messianic complexes. Cant blame them though. When you have resources to spare, and you give it to someone who doesn’t have it, you end up overvaluing the spare resources you imparted. That’s okay. May nakinabang. But stop short of calling it noble as the spare you gave had the recipients dignity in return. May hiningi ka pa rin na kapalit. Katawan niya. 
 

@lankCoincidentally, your example of Haiti brings forth the issues of the consequences, the bad ones in particular, of messianic complexes. The aiding of Haiti was plagued by a big scandal that the perpetrators didnt find anything wrong and even called it normal: They were giving preferential aid to demographics who were taken advantage as s*x providers. Mismong chief nakinabang. When asked why, he said he didn’t see it as unethical as they were giving it to him for free. In short, it was cultural. 
 

Messianic complexes. They don’t result to charity. Its not a visa towards heaven.

Yes, unfortunately there are several factors that influence the potential utility of money. In this modern society (provided that it is stable with no wars) money is the greatest potential energy which comes with unimaginable range of influence. You want a Porsche 718 Cayman? You can have it at a whim just issue a 5.7M check. You want a Patek 5396g then issue a 3.2M check. The list goes on and that includes stupid investment scams and other weird things. 
Having Billions under your disposal literally makes one into a demiGod, so one must act like one. One must evaluate the recipient’s overall qualities  with increasing level of scrutiny as the amount of grant increases. This power must be respected as it can effectively leave a dent on this planet with a snap of a finger. You bestow free money to a Cocaine user? such also meant asking that person to jump of the cliff. You bestow money to an individual who doesn’t have any life skills and professional credentials, then expect it burn in useless stuffs - it will never ever convert into a huge business corporation.

I think it is very important to appraise the recipient’s overall qualities and from there it serves as a determinant of the amount of money that we give - this is just one aspect of the potential utility of money in a stable modern society (money is worthless in times of war)

Same thoughts actually. And let’s not kid ourselves, we wanted a relationship especially us men because of sex and the rest follows. You sum it up, it boils down to one thing which is expenses. Thence burning money.

So here’s the math.

1. Dinner resto 1k

2. gas 1k

3. motel SOGO lol! 1500

4. Coffee 800

5. Snacks 1k

6. etc 2k

that’s for a typical girlfriend plus you have to battle with her clingy behavior, jealousy, and worst her cheating potential bec all women are hypergamist.

the heck! With that expenses I’d rather stay single and have all the thera I want. Ganun din naman plus you can focus on your work and hobbies with zero interruptions.

whereas sa girlfriend isang flavor lang hahaha. Tatakas kapa.

Hindi exactly GM pero nakwento ng isang FM na yung mga GRO na hawak nya dati pumupunta sa gay bar para kumuha ng mga lalake. After daw kumita ng malaki inuubos yung pera doon at yung iba nabubuntis at iniiwan din.

I guess gusto nila maiba yung dynamic at sila yung ineentertain at saka nakakapili pa sila ng type nila. Yun nga lang sayang ang pinaghirapan nila.

Medyo guilty ako dito. Way back I met a handful of theras and sobrang allergic talaga ako dun sa mga mukhang bilmoko and attitude na kalabet penge...

So my mindset was that I do the exact opposite. At first syempre ako nagspend kasi nung time na una kami nagkita and availed her services but later on iba na...

The first time was hindi tinanggap yung tip ko at nagalit pa sa akin. Ano daw tingin ko sa kanya. She thought exclusive na kami. Then we will go out and sagot nya mga dates namin.

The other one siya nagloload ng cellphone ko, prepaid pa lang ako noon. Then later on bought me a Sony Ericsson Experia...

Then there's this thera na pag magcheckin kami, she will pay for the transpo and the room...

Nakakaguilty lang kasi at those times, I have moolah to spend to other theras plus pa ung legal thera gf ko...

But karma is a bitch. Lahat sila iniwan naman akong luhaan...

Kaya lesson learned talaga, don't ever fall in love with a therapist! It may seem I took advantage of them but my feelings for them were genuine...
