Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

A dancer who landed a part in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has told the Edmond Son ALL about what he witnessed on set.

- “Apparently, the Soviet Army was searching for a crucifix skull in the jungles of South America and Indiana Jones was searching, as well,” Tyler said.

- The Russian Army tries blackmailing Indiana Jones to help them find the crystal skull by “threatening to k*ll Karen, his old flame from the Lost Ark.”

- Actress Karen Allen of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” fame returns to play Jones’ love interest Marion Ravenwood. Cate Blanchett was cast as the Russian interrogator.

- “We took Indiana Jones hostage and managed to find the skull,” Tyler said. Afterward, Tyler and the other Russian soldiers rejoice in the jungle by wildly dancing and singing to Russian balalaika folk music beside a roaring campfire. His ability to perform classical Russian dances landed him in the movie. Professional opportunities opened for Nelson after graduating from Russia’s Kirov Academy and studying with the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow a few years ago.

- “They were filming us outside of a tent dancing and then turned the camera inside the tent,” Tyler explained his scene. “I saw Harrison Ford strapped in a chair being interrogated. I started to gather they were holding this big crystal-looking thing in the tent and heard someone mention a crucifix skull.”

- In the movie, Indiana actor Shia LaBeouf plays Indiana Jones’ son. Jones learns of this and falls in love with Ravenwood again, Tyler said.

- “After we did the first take, Steven Spielberg came up to us and shook our hands and said that we were great,” Tyler said. Spielberg’s smile and easygoing personality puts actors at ease.

- “He’s subtly suggesting things so actors can do it on their own and not just follow blindly,” Tyler said.

Justice League of America:

It appears that Warner Bros. is moving ahead with their planned live-action Justice League of America movie, with casting reportedly set to commence shortly for an early 2008 start date. Rumor has it that JLA could very well be a motion-capture film a la Beowulf, Avatar and The Polar Express. This could explain the recasting of major characters such as Batman and Superman, as well as the reported early '08 production start.

According to reports, "Brandon Routh and Christian Bale won't be starring as Superman and Batman, respectively, in the Justice League movie -- but they will both still be starring in the stand-alone Superman and Batman sequels. Bale informed that he hasn't been approached about playing Batman in JLA, adding, "It'd be better if (JLA) doesn't tread on the toes of what we're doing, though I feel that it would be better if it comes out after Batman 3."

JLA: Justice League of America

Rumor casting and story for the new movie....

-martian manhunter will be added to the league. he's a george miller favorite.

-previously, flash was set to be killed. after word leaked about that, they're changing who dies (See script summary for who).

-the heroes will be younger, and in the first couple years of their career. this not an origin film though. the league already exists. manhunter though, will be played older and wiser.

-WB is planning to cast very big for the heroes. names thrown around: jake gyllenhaal, leo dicaprio, jessica biel. mel gibson is liked for max lord. scarlett johanssen for talia. bruce willis was mentioned for lex. tom welling isnt happening.

-george miller already has a small group of men working on storyboards, script revisions, concept designs, costume designs, etc. WB wants this for 2009. miller isnt wasting time.

george miller has some script revisions already underway. heres the general summary of the whole story based on miller's personal treatment that i read, major major spoilers:

max lord and talia al ghul are the black king and black queen for checkmate, the government agency. they have a mutual agenda against caped heroes. talia's reasons for despising super heroes is ambiguous, but there are some vague references to her father and his ideals. max's reasons are far more defined: a couple years ago his fiancee was caught up in a battle between superman and metallo, she lost her life. he's since seen heroes as a plague that need to be exterminated. this is one of the reasons he creates the OMACs. he plans to use them to rid the world of super heroes, since the robots can be the perfect policing unit which can also be controlled by the government and work for their agenda. he is even going head to head against lex luthor for the contract, who has created similar technology. max also plans on using the OMACs for his own personal agenda...believing that checkmate should be running the government, a sort of coup would put him in power. the OMACs will also be using human hosts, the technology takes over the body. max lord plans on using heroes as host bodies to result in stronger OMACs (a superman omac being the big prize). theres even a few scenes planned for early on in the film where OMACs take over b-list DC characters, fun cameos for the fans. at one point in the film, even flash and GL will become OMACs.

the JLA will consist of: superman, batman, wonder woman, flash (wally), green lantern (jon), aquaman, and martian manhunter. there will be a bunch of humor earlier on at their headquarters showing what heroes do when they are bored with no crime to fight. meanwhile, batman is off investigating heroes that have been picked off by OMAC's.

anyways, a group of shape-shifting white martians travel to earth and find max lord, well aware of his status in the government (it would appear white martians have a past with checkmate). they ask for refuge on earth to escape an aggressor who is at war with them. max denies them, knowing they will then invade earth and take refuge anyways (how he knows this and why he wants it will be later revealed). the white martians leave very angry and sure enough make plans to invade earth.

as the martians invade, the heroes come out, and so do max's OMACs. this is max's chance to prove to the government their worth and how much better they are than the super heroes. the fight against the white martian invasion will be the chunk of the film. during this time, the heroes become very aware of max lord, his story, and his agenda. they come into direct conflict, and more is revealed about him. about half way through the film, it will be revealed that max is a shape shifting white martian himself (not even the other martians knew this), but he was banished from the white martian community long ago which is when he traveled to earth. also, he's not only been disguised as max lord infiltrating the american government plotting a take over...but he's also been disguising himself as JLA member martian manhunter! working to infiltrate the heroes, learn their secrets, so he can eventually take them down using the OMACs. enraged at his betrayal, wonder woman snaps his neck, killing him! breaking the league's no killing policy. she stands behind her actions against a very pissed off batman and superman. still fighting the invasion, batman ends up being able to reprogram and take control of the OMACs and they use them to defeat the martian invasion.

but in the last 20-30 minutes of the film, a new threat will arrive. its the agressor that has been at war with the white martians. they have followed them to earth. its darkseid! darkseid and his army finds the white martians defeated and a new challenge in the JLA. the JLA goes to battle with him and his personal cronies, while his army attacks the country. in battle with darkseid himself, superman is killed! now regretting her actions, and recognizing superman's heroism, wonder woman begs her gods to take her life force and spare superman's. her gods comply. wonder woman dies, and superman is revived. he single handedly takes out darkseid. the heroes are overwhelmed by the rest of his army though. lex luthor appears on scene with his tech army (the one he was using to get the government contract against max lord). together they stop the invasion.

Justice League of America:

http://blog.ugo.com/images/uploads/justiceleague_cartoon2.jpg

Spoiler leaks for the plot of the upcoming movie...

-- The characters of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash and Martian Manhunter comprise the League. One name that I did not hear mentioned was that of Aquaman. Where’d the fish guy go? Good question.

-- Story elements from the screenplay have been adapted directly from DC’s JLA comic book series.

-- The man wearing the Green Lantern ring in the JLA film is John Stewart and not Hal Jordan (Earth’s first Green Lantern) or Kyle Rayner (who followed after Stewart’s run in the comic book continuity.) It should be noted that in the Justice League cartoon series John Stewart is the same character serving as Earth’s Green Lantern.

-- The Flash is the youngest member of the JLA. He has a crush on Wonder Woman.

-- Wonder Woman is portrayed as the member that acts as defacto humanitarian and face for the League. Our source told us that the best way to describe how she is written in the script is to “think of Angelina Jolie and her relations with foreign countries.”

-- Unbeknownst to the League Batman has a piece of technology that he developed called the “Redeye”, a cool piece of hardware that he can use to spy unbeknownst on the other League members. Want to know what the secret identity of Superman is? Not a problem. Want to find out what can cripple or k*ll each League member, their Achilles heel? It’s a snap with the Redeye. Batman files away the knowledge in case the day might ever come when he will need to use it to take down a member of the JLA that goes rogue or becomes a villain.

-- The Redeye is a fulcrum to the events that transpire in the movie. A villain—and I’m not at liberty to say which specific one or ones—will gain control of the Redeye. Instead of serving as a means of protecting the planet’s populace from the threat of a superhuman out of control, this creation of Batman’s will come back to haunt him, threaten the lives of the League and the safety of everyone on the entire planet.

-- During the course of the movie the day that Batman feared would come happens: a member of the League will, and we directly quote our source here, “go bad.”

Terminator 4:

IGN recently spoke to James Middleton (consulting producer on TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES). When they asked him about T4, he dropped a bunch of info.

-Firstly, the film will be released by The Halcyon Company (who own the rights to the franchise.).

-It's being written by the same duo that brought us T3, Michael Ferris and John D. Brancato.

-Though there's no director assigned yet, apparently they are very close to putting someone in the chair.

-Instead of a nifty number in the title, this one will stick with just a subtitle. (ie TERMINATOR: RISE OF THE MACHINES as opposed to TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES.)

-The characters of John Connor and Kate Brewster are both in the script, yet Nick Stahl and Claire Danes are not attached.

-The script, although featuring both Connor and Brewster, will center on another character as the hero.

-This will be the first of a trilogoy, which will all be set in the post-apocalyptic world.

-The story will follow TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES and be set in the post-apocalyptic world.

-The film is looking at a 2009 release.

HACK/SLASH:

Rumor has it that Megan Fox has “expressed interest” in the feature film version of HACK/SLASH. HACK/SLASH tells the story of Cassie Hack, who travels from small town to small town kicking serial killer ass, with her companion: a hulking brute named Vlad. Together they visit places where naughty teens are being sliced up by masked slashers in the "Jason" and "Michael" mold and lay the smack-down.
