Don't think of it as an investment. Instead, look at it as future protection for your family should you bite the dust earlier than expected. MP2 naman, stuck for five years. May listahan ang PAG-IBIG ng mga dahilan para tanggapin ang early withdrawal ng MP2 mo. Kung kailangan mo ng liquid na investments na walang masyadong losses, go for bank savings or money market funds. Thank you paps! Quote Link to comment

First ten years Invest on yourself (25% of income) Invest on other instruments (5% of income) Next ten years (assuming natuto ka nung first 10 years) Invest on yourself (15% of income) Invest on other instruments (15% of income or more) Next ten years still (assuming natuto ka nung first 20 years) Invest on yourself (15% of income) Invest on other instruments (30% of income or more) if you do it wisely and prudently, darating ang araw, kahit na in % maliit or same na yung investment mo pero in actual value, malaki na yun kasi lalaki income mo. Not the direct answer you may be looking for sir, pero I’ve often discussed with friends who work in finance-related industries na it might be better to just separate insurance and investment. Was never a fan of VUL or mutual funds kasi parang performance-wise, mas consistent pa market index kesa sakanila. Unless totally clueless ka about investing in which case, baka better na VUL kesa bank (or worse, magastos mo ang savings). But if you’re timeline is relatively mahaba2 pa naman, parang mas ok pa just plain life+emergency insurance nalang and invest in maybe an index fund. Caveat nalang. Sobrang dami in flux pa man din sa mundo ngayon. If you’re into books, I suggest reading “The Psychology of Money”. Isang lesson dun is that the two most impt factors lang to grow money is consistency and time (yung tagal na ginagawa mo ang boring stuff consistently). Quote Link to comment

James Band
Best time to invest is yesterday. You need to start early. Depending on your risk tolerance, whether you invest in bonds or stocks, your investment will grow over time, simply because of time value of money. Quote Link to comment
greenshadow
Better read up and consult a reliable mentor... Kung wala pang alam, save up muna, wag masyadong masilaw sa quick gains na investment schemes, most likely too good to be true yan... Quote Link to comment
