Thanks Paps. Pang-Tamad ba yan? :D

Quick and easy. If you have a stock brokerage account, all you have to do is to buy shares of FMETF. FMETF is tracks the PSEI.

If i am not mistaken, index fund is same as mutual fund. I still think ETF is the best passive investment.

After 3years compare mo.

There are other mutual funds that doesn't track the index.

For FMETF, depende sa market. Last 3 years, di ganun gaano kaganda performance.

Have not tried FMETF. In my experience, may months na hindi maganda talaga sa ETF kaya ok talagang magdiversify...eg. Kapag recession, invest in commodities like gold. Suggestion ko wag magworry pag down ang market..just stick with your strategy...we are investing, not trading..long-term ang isipin dapat. compare your investments, like MF vs ETF vs etc, after 3yrs, 5yrs, 10yrs. Neville ikaw pala ang nag start ng thread ma to way back in 2013 pa. How wouñd you describe you F.I. journey in the past 6 or something years?

Ako nagstart ako around 2011 sa SG. Wow, how time flies. I started negative (since i have credit card debt), and after tracking my expenses i saw the pattern. I'm a spender (the worst kind).

I was out of control spending-wise since i started this page. I still spend a lot now, but the main difference is that I make sure that i do have the budget before I swipe my card. :D

Also, my income is infinitely better than what it was years ago.

Another big difference since I started the page is the presence of investments.

Hi, Philippine-based ako.

Kung komportable ka sa online transactions, you can tap COL Financial. Kung malapit ka nang umuwi for breaks or vacations, check mo website nila para sa requirements at funding. To avoid headaches when out of the country, make the initial deposit at the office itself, then start investing once the account is activated and the funds credited.

As for ETF aka mutual funds,COL Financial also has the platform to buy and sell them. One stop shop na siya for stocks and mutual funds. I chose Sunlife, Philamlife, First Metro, and Philequity Funds.

May separate stock portfolio Rin ako sa COL Financial.

I avoid banks here because they are annoying to deal with and the returns are usually low.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info sir, looking forward ako makauwi agad and makastart mag invest. Alangan kasi ako through mail application sa COL hehe

Does anyone have exit plans in case crap hits the fan in their current country of residence? Wondering how to factor that in to financial planning. So far I think one should have dollar accounts in international banks, but aside from that, I can't imagine what else to do

Part of healthy cycle yang "air crap" LOL. If one must sell, how about switching your stocks/MF/ETF to money market accounts instead of actual cash currency and wait it out. Just my half cent. :)

Personally depende kung malapit na ba ako magretire or note. If im say 15-20 years or more from retirement, meaning in in the accumulation stage, i'll be hoping for that "crap" since that means my ETFs will sold at a much cheaper price, meaning its "bargain" hunting baby! If im single, i would probably work several jobs just so i'll have more money to buy more ETFS.

But ita different when i retired or near retirement. I'll probably put more into Bonds, high dividend paying ETFs and cash. I will be income focused since i would need income to live the lifestyle that i want in retirement.

Personally right now, i dont have bonds, i dont own any real estate, i have $12k in Cash that i'll soon transfer into my brokerage to buy some ETFs. I know another GFC is coming (who knows when), but i'll w3lcome it with open arms.

Whew. Finally!

Pati back pay ko, in good order na rin.

Bills for August and September paid. Budget all the way to November fixed.

Time to invest in the stock market via the bourse and mutual funds next month.

And time to open a separate mutual fund account for my house and lot savings :D

Now, I only need the business to find a good client for it to start earning decently.

PERA PA!!!!!!!!
