neville
yung nick is a remnant of my childhood, based sa japanese name ng gusto ko na character nung bata pa ako haha! Naks! mga archi ng mga bahay sa vigan ba? or sugar baron house ng mga taga negros? wild! haha! re: shipping container homes, seryoso? i still have contacts na gumagawa ng mga ganito from a venture that i had noong 2014/5 (pero di natuloy). isa siya sa mga pioneers ng mga luxury na ganyan dito sa pinas. let me know kung interested ka haha! ah wow, feeling ko may iba rin sa dynamic ng ganyan na relationship sa nephews and nieces mo. may friend ako na parang sister lang rin niya yung tita niya tapos super okay yung relationship nila kasi mas open siya to discuss stuff more than his parents. hahaha! tawang tawa ako dun sa everyday na pagcheck ng portfolio wala akong stocks pero alam ko yung feeling ng daily reports ng sales na pumapasok or updates ng general ops, and talaga naman nakakataas ng BP minsan haha! may nagsabi sa akin na wag ko na i-micro everyday, para less stress, pero sa ngayon di ko pa kaya. ano magiging strat mo sa red? siguro maganda rin to see red as "sale" but then again, greedy ako sooo... hahaha! sa sheets, siguro nasanay nalang rin ako dahil sa mga ginagawa ko sa buhay. nag start siya na praning lang ako sa pasok ng pera so vine-verify ko lahat with my own sheets para mas gets ko. pero kung free naman yung FA mo, e di mas maganda hahah ah yun, nice one! buti public yung rates nila. may iba kasi hindi nagpupublish and kailangan mo mag "fake" inquire haha! good idea yung diploma especially if mapopost as credentials to further up the business! good luck dyan! and good luck rin sa thesis! haha! i can imagine na super packed ng araw ah. so day job, tapos school, tapos business? wild! congrats! ah..research mode na naman ako para hanapin kung sino ang character na tinutukoy mo yes, serious about the shipping container idea. pero ilang taon pa bago ako magpatayo na ng bahay. ni hindi ko pa alam kung saan ako titira nang permanente. hehehe. pag natapos ko na ang MA ko (in at least a year), saka ko na maiisip ang lugar. pag bibili na ako ng lote, i will definitely let you know good thing is open rin yung mga kids sa Ate ko. ibang usapan sa tatay nila. bad trip sila doon. kaya mas komportable silang apat na ako kasama kesa sa asawa/tatay nila hehehe asar lang kasi minsan seryoso na ako pero joke time pa rin trato nila sa usapan. ayun, beast mode ending ko hahaha hehehe, sensya na, serious investing newbie kasi. pati sa negosyo bagito...feeling ko pa rin ako dapat lahat gagawa. pag sa iba ko pinagawa, hindi pulido, kaya stressed out ako. on another note, research mode na kami tungkol sa negosyo. more like, "inutusuan" ko na ang partners ko na maghanap ng datos at wag hintayin ang prospective client na magdikta ng terms. pag nauna yung isa naming prospective client na humingi ng proposal, nakakahiyang wala kaming maibigay kasi di kami gumawa ng due diligence. nalaman ko nga kahapon na pati sa meditation group, kailangan kong maging mobile. sasabog utak ko sa pag-iisip kung paano na buhay ko hanggang next sem. thesis, ministry work (for easier contextualization), business, freelance translation work, and the personal vegetarian blog. so much for chucking out one task out the window. lol. i need to delegate work and make myself able to breathe. Ok lang yan, naenjoy mo naman yung last year mo dba? But I think it is better kung may financial goal ka for your future at the same time naeenjoy mo buhay ngayon. may travel fund ako lagi sa budget. di puwedeng di umalis. mababaliw ako pag di ako sasakay ng eroplano para magbakasyon. JohannBeckham
Angyayaman na ng mga tao dito 😜How often do you monitor your investments? Ako kasi pag naisipan lang...i just follow my strategy to continuously put certain amount every month (usually pag sweldo), I agree with JB that theres no pint of regretting late investment. Move on from the past, do whatever you can do today and plan for your future. 😉To be honest with you, i have a bad habit of opening the portfolio almost Monday thru Friday to see how my portfolio is doing. Ewan ko ba, its exciting to see the 8th wonder of the world, which is compound interest, it gives you sense of gratification. I only add to my ETFs once a month though (i only buy, i never sell) since once a month ang sweldo ko. Usually few days before sweldo, i already do my budget for the upcoming month. I dont save and invest the same amount or the same percentage every month since every month is different. Like this month, i have car registration i need to pay, insurance and other bills so i think at the end of the month i'll have only AUD $1,000 left which is to small for me to invest. I usually invest in AUD $5,000 and above parcel, all in one ETF at a time pra di sayang yung binabayad kong AUD $ 9.5 brokerage fee (yes, brokerage fee in Australia is so f*ckn high). I always target to save and invest AUD $100K a year into ETFs. All dividends are reinvested as well (AUD$ 13-15K). Quote Link to comment

Kung babae lang ako pinikot na kita Sir JB 😂✌Kung before 2011 ka pala nagstart, lets say 2004, for sure you already achieve your financial freedom provided that you achieve your target of AUD100K/yr. if you dont mind, can you share how young are you? Actually, i started investing since 2004. Swerte lang rin siguro ako dahil wala akong ibang iniintindi maliban sa sarili ko. And now, i am looking at 2yrs time to achieve financial independence (sabi ng financial adviser ko 😉) 1 Quote Link to comment

But then i get married to my beautiful wife in 2011 and that's when my finances started to go in the right direction. We're (me and my wife) were not always a good saver. Last year lng namin na hit yung target naming more than AUD $100k save and invested in ETFs in a given calendar year. Prior to that, the highest it has been is like $30-$50k/year or AUD 2,500 - $4,100/month. Nkadagdag din sa motivation namin when we have a child together 3 years ago. We matured alot and started cutting lots of stuff. Me and my wife still support our parents (hers and mine), typical sandwich generation since our parents do not have the financial means to support themselves. Nung kami pa lng at wla pang anak, kahit sinong kaibigan, kamag anak, kapit bahay or kakilala ng kapit bahay na mangungutang, pinapautang namin. After ng magka anak kme, we say "No" to most if not all of it now. I realize na ang laki ng neri remit namin every month na people no longer know their boundaries and would simply demand for money simply because we have it and they dont. Well, tough luck.Im 39 years old know and next year will hitting the big FOUR-O so im definitely not young anymore. But considere where i have been to where we are now, boy it's such a big upgrade.I'm not saying these to brag. No, and I'm not here to please any ladies in this group for I'm happily married to my beautiful uber sexy wife and mother to my beautiful child. I'm saying these to hopefully inspire and help someone in any shape or form. 1 Quote Link to comment

Curious lang ako..i am not saying that you are not doing the right thing 😉Grabe naman yung mga kakilala mong nangungutang. Buti na lang walang nangungutang sakin...wala rin pala akong maipapautang 😂At 39, you are saving a lot kung employee ka..but believe me, maraming maiinspire sa ginagawa mo, pero karamihan hindi maachieve yang target mo. Anyway, investing smaller amount is ok as long as may future plan na realistic. Quote Link to comment

Swerte, being in Australia (most G20 countries), may access ako sa Diversified basket of stocks all around the world. All these 7,000+ companies are fighting tooth and nail in giving me a good return. Rather than betting on one horse (one stock or one rental property or pound of gold or one type of crypto such as bitcoin), i bought the whole race track business all over the world. Unless magunaw ang mundo, alam ko over the long term kita ako. I invest primarily in 3 ETFs:1. Vanguard Australian Shares Index ETF (VAS) - 302 holdings (see https://www.vanguardinvestments.com.au/retail/ret/investments/product.html#/fundDetail/etf/portId=8205/?overview)2. Vanguard U.S. Total Market Shares Index ETF (VTS) -3,637 holdings (see https://www.vanguardinvestments.com.au/retail/ret/investments/product.html#/fundDetail/etf/portId=0970/?overview)3. Vanguard All-World ex-U.S. Shares Index ETF (VEU) -3,126 holdings (https://www.vanguardinvestments.com.au/retail/ret/investments/product.html#/fundDetail/etf/portId=0970/?overview) Quote Link to comment

Not in real estate/properties? Not in agricultural/fund sharing? Not in food franchise? Not in oil & gas franchise? Etc. I asked because the return from these are much higher than ETFs. JohannBeckham
By the way, ako poy simpleng empleyado lamang. Wla akong planong mag business kasi its too much work for me. I'm a lazy passive index investor. Ok na ako sa ETF investment ko. Kailangan na lng palakihin kasi AUD $13-15K a year p lng ang dividend ko. Mga 7 years pa siguro baka mapalago ko na to around $AUD 52k/year in dividends. I'll be 46 by then, pwede na mag retire orag part time and consentrate in just raising my child. The problem with me working is that i spend 40 hours a week in the office. Would it be nice to spend 16 hours or zero hours a week sa office and be a world school parent like this https://www.millennial-revolution.com/freedom/travel-school-aged-kids/ Quote Link to comment

Mejo same strategy pala tayo sa ETFs, lagay lang ng lagay then compounded ang kita. Edited July 19, 2019 by Papa Popoy Quote Link to comment

I do own McDonalds as a company. Oil and Gas ba kamo? I do own Exxon Mobil Corp inside my ETF. Technology business? I do own shares of Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Alphabet (Google), FaceBook, etc. I own these and more, what more can i ask for? Yes, possible na mas malaki kikitain ko kung mag invest lng ako in food franchise or farming or whatever, pero possible din ma malaki rin ang ilulugi ko. Risk is a double side coin, pwedeng kita, pwedeng lugi. One way to manage risk is to spread your investment around. Sakin lng, it happens to be 7,000 plus companies spread across 52 countries instead of one company, one business or one rental property in one country, one city, one street. In the indexing game, over a long term period (5 years or more), for sure kikita ka. So it's a volume game. By that i mean, you have to increase your savings to invest. If i have $1.5 mil invested and it grows 13% per annum because im 100% confident that my investment will grow overtime with less risk, that strategy in my opinion would always triump or a meager $50k invested, with lots of hard work, stress and time invested in managing a business, kahit na mataas pa ang kita nyan say 20 or 30%. What matters most is the savings rate. Quote Link to comment

What i am saying is aside from ETF you can do more..for example, i am investing in Dvboer, in 3yrs time i can get 200% of what i invested. Based from my experience, I cannot get it from ETFs. Another example is 5yrs ago bought a pre-selling condo which has 2x the market value now. Again, i cannot get it from ETFs. I agree that it is a double sided coin, pero may tinatawag na calculated risks.Dont get me wrong sir...parang ikaw kasi pinakamayaman dito kaya kung risk ang pag-uusapan to venture other investments, ikaw ang pinakaqualified. 😄 Edited July 19, 2019 by Papa Popoy Quote Link to comment
