danilopaulino
delikado pala this coming Asian Games possible 11 players w/out Douthit. Pero kaya yan kahit di palarin ng medal di naman din affected ung FIBA Rankings ng PH. Quote Link to comment
RED2018
if these protests will be upheld then chot might as well drop gary and replace him with marcus. that's the most logical thing to do. anyway, nakaupo lang naman si gary...might as well replace him with someone who will be of great help. I've been reading similar write-ups/comments/remarks about El Granada on various sports blogs/forums on the net. Nababasa kaya ni Coach Chot ang mga ito...? Quote Link to comment
jasper.custodio
at this time we can't do anything but prepare for the future...Train Greg Slaugther to be more dominant as well as Fajardo....look for young, tall, talented players at 6' 5" na pedeng i-train tulad ni Norwood na pedeng pamalit sa malilit natin na point/shooting guard...it's about time to face the scenario na kailangan natin ng malalaking player talaga at dapat continous ang build up... azraelmd
1411031255[/url]' post='9422947']Presuming Greg, Junemar and Marcus/Andray are in the FIBA Asia lineup next year, Gilas would have the ceiling to match up with anybody in the Asian region. Fajardo held his own against the big guys of Croatia, Greece, Argentina, Puerto Rico and Senegal and I'm pretty sure Slaughter will follow suit. Norwood could swing between SF and SG. RDO or Ping could play SF if Chot wants to go with a twin tower combo. RDO could even play SG if Chot wants to go with a big lineup featuring the stratospheric frontline of Greg, Junemar and Marcus/Andray. While i agree with gregzilla in the lineup..IMO...id prefer either junemar or grezgzilla coming off the bench...at least we wont lose some height if ever one of them gets into foul trouble...pero napansin ko lang medyo mabagal talaga si greg...i meant mabilis sya for a pinoy big men...but mas mabilis sya sa mga asian big men?? Mukhang nde eh....anyway the lineup is already submitted...im just laughing why the sudden interest for the other team to protest marcus inclusion...theyd still finish with the silver medal with or without marcus lol....Also...i agree with some of the previous comments...we should get more shooters in future gilas line up...mid range to 3-point range...id like to see lassiter and lutz included..sanggalang also(but who to replace)... The new rookies this year...rosser,banchero...alas is a given..after we see them show their wares in the PBA... Quote Link to comment
rooster69ph
Ang puso ng TUNAY na PINOY ay lumalaban despite any adversities ... hindi yun susuko o tatalikod na lang sa laban tulad ng gustong mangyari ng iba just because Andre or Marcus won't be allowed. We've gone to battle won medals in the past without any naturalized player. Quote Link to comment

junix
The UAAP MVP can fill in the shoes of his fellow Blue Eagle, LA Tenorio, once LA is too old for international competition. Kiefer Ravena, Kobe Paras, and Jeron Teng are potentially the future of Philippine basketball. In a couple of years, Chot should start looking for big and mobile centers to replace Greg and Junemar. speaking of young guns, i'm just wondering if chris newsome of ateneo is a fil-am...may potential din yung bata. RED2018
How 'bout Stanley Pringle...a very explosive guard in the mold of Jason Castro; and the more finesse Chris Banchero in the mold of Hec Calma Edited September 19, 2014 by artedpro Quote Link to comment
Mark Lim
Okay si Stanley Pringle! Veterans na din yan kahit rookie. I like Dilinger sana Quote Link to comment

junix
Yup he is. He has potential too. yup newsome and kiefer are promising additions to the gilas cadet team. not sure about perkins' nationality but if he is also a fil-am this guy has also potentials. Quote Link to comment
rooster69ph
I haven't heard of him yet but the younger brother of Kiefer has the potential to be in Gilas. You haven't heard of Chris Newsome? I suppose you haven't watch the games of Ateneo in the UAAP lately for you to say that you have not heard of him. If that is the case, what is your basis to say that Thirdy has the potential? At this point, IMHO there are a lot more "qualified" potential candidates in the college ranks for Gilas to even consider Thirdy. Yes he is a star during his HS playing days but he's been mostly riding the bench for his school in the UAAP this season. Currently Kiefer and Chris are the top two players of Ateneo. IMHO Thirdy must prove himself first in the UAAP before any discussions about him being a potential candidate to be in GILAS. Edited September 22, 2014 by rooster69ph 1 Quote Link to comment
rooster69ph
So what if I haven't heard of Chris Newsome? Use your common sense instead of asking me why I said that the younger Ravena has potential. I have said it earlier and will say it again ... You haven't heard of Chris thus it only validates one FACT ... you have not seen Thirdy play recently. So his current performance can't be a basis. What I am interested at is your BASIS. SO why am I suppose to second guess what's on your mind. Common sense dictates it does not follow that if you are a star in a certain level you will still be a star when you move up. Moreso being a Gilas potential candidate when he can't even show he can be competitive in the UAAP. So? Each is entitled to his opinion. I have mine. Did I say otherwise???? I am just asking you your basis for saying so right? Just because he's riding the bench doesn't mean he can't be a star in the future. Kaya nga sabi ko potential. Think before you post. Tama ka .... lahat may potential. And since sinabi mong gamitin ang common sense, Hindi ko sukat maisip kung paano na ang isang bangko sa UAAP ay makokonsider sa GILAS kung mas marami pang karapat-dapat unang maconsider. A potential star can't be a star if he rides the bench right? And not all potential star ends up becoming a star. SO ang nga ba ang basehan mo? One thing is clear at this point ...Common sense dictates that if you have not heard of Newsome, it validates the fact that you have not seen Thirdy play recently and how his game have evolved/matured from HS level to college ball. So anong basehan ng opinion mo? 1 Quote Link to comment
darksoulriver
imo doenst matter kung ikaw ay isang star o isang bench player... as long may basbas ni MVP at cno mang maging next coach ng Gilas kapag wla na si Chot.. hindi pa rin maaalis ang politika sa sports.
