peithe
now that this team has shown its potential it has suddenly caught the eye of mega-non believers who thinks that the PROS or the Powerade team should continue to be the RP team for the future, specifically for the next olympic qualifier. hayyyyy ... piggy backing Quote Link to comment
kanski
^ pati ba naman itong thread na ito ipapasara ninyo? After the win, Baracael was approached by an Egyptian offering him a juicy contract if he decides to play in Egypt as an import. The former FEU stalwart, however, politely turned down the offer and reiterated his 100-percent commitment to Smart Gilas. nakakataba ng puso. Quote Link to comment

skull_leader
these guys have been improving a lot. Maganda talaga ang sistema ni Toroman. Ang tanong..papalitan kaya nila si Jamal Sampson? Quote Link to comment
launchpad
it said toroman wants a seven footer guy for a big man, but it thinks his system needs to be agile and a bit versatile. hindi ung mabagal type. i doubt palitan nila pero disappointed sila kahit na si tiu sa kanya hindi sya nakakalaro d ba and this showing proves we can really play with the right system and direction. sampal mo sa mukha ni yeng yan, pba players lang daw pwede Quote Link to comment

amante
olats?!? hey, the gilas boys went there to preparewinning the championship was not the goalbut for the boys to get a taste and get the experience they so badly need win or lose with Syria...malayo na narating nilaat malayo pa ang mararatingagain, I cant wait for around June...kapag solid na talaga ang line up nila BTW, the only disappointing part about Sampson's game is his health Quote Link to comment
crystalyx
All Gilas needs is a defensive center, offense is their least worry. Make a pitch for Mr. Nate "Kryptonate" Robinson, he can bring spunk in Gilas' game. Quote Link to comment
skull_leader
Gilas placed third by beating Syria 107-98. Nabawian nila yun tumalo sa kanila sa unang game nila sa tournament. Quote Link to comment
kanski
coming in third is very impressive! very impressive indeed. i'm not proud to say this but, i think a foreign coach was instrumental in their success. kayo nalang humusga kung dahil ba yan sa superior basketball smarts o sa change in attitude. Aw! ^^ Then look closely yung mga nasa likod ni chris tiu, parang gusto siyang lapangin.... alam nyo na siguro kung ano hilig ng mga arabo! ^^V Sorry for the OT note. Quote Link to comment

Compared to our local coaches, who see nothing but the same players night in and night out, these foreign coaches see players of different countries play in the tournaments that they go to thus they have a diversified knowledge of international basketball which leads to success when they coach other international teams since they more or less know what to do and make the proper adjustments when they play a particular country. crystalyx
2 agile defensive centers will surely complete the roster of Smart Gilas. Coach Toroman knows very well how to maximize the abilities of his players against the opposing team's advantages. Sana Junmar Fajardo will do a Japeth Aguilar, he should prioritize playing with the national team instead of playing in the local scene only. Dapat kunin din nila si Alex Ariza and his team as Smart Gilas' strength and conditioning coach, para knock-out din ang bigger opponents. :zorro: Quote Link to comment

In article by Quinito Henson, he mentioned that Spain who won the recent Euro Championships have an Italian coach. China hed been coached by Del Harris, an NBA veteran coach. Quote Link to comment
