Kuya Marcus appropriately accepted his fate in the FIBA World where he was replaced by Andray, but was silently hoping he would have been it. I think this could be a positive thing as Kuya Marcus would prove his worth and repay those who gave him an oppurtunity to play and serve Gilas Pilipinas...maybe an encore come the Asian Games!

dun sa interview na nahirapan si Fajardo kay Haddadi... it happened before the world cup....

syempre that time hindi pa masyado exposed si Junemar, pero after world cup... kita naman di ba...

if he was able to hold his own against Dieng of Senegal, kaya nya din si Haddadi...

Kailan i uupdate ang FIBA Rankings after pa ba ng Asian Games or just after this World Cup...what is the chances of Philippine-Gilas to uplift their rankings...friends share nyu nman yung basis ng computation...TIA

Ang alam ko ilalabas ng FIBA ang next fiba rankings nila after ng 2 Fiba World, 4 Fiba Asia at 2 Olympics so malamang sa year 2021 na,

After the Incheon Asian Games "Basketball Tournament...meron pa bang ilalabas ulit ng FIBA Ranking until end of this year (2014)...

analyzing what was written, even assuming that the chinese, japanese, iranians and koreans make a howl of protest, marcus playing in the asian games is still possible provided he replaces one who is injured and already included in the lineup. considering that david has not been given the playing time, why not replace david with marcus. pwede naman sigurong palabasin ni chot na injured si david. while such a move will reduce the team to an 11 man lineup, this will, however, enable marcus to play for the country.

Aside from Blatche, Robin Lopez of the Trail Blazers wants to play for Gilas. He is a certified starter with the Portland Trail Blazers and is a legit 7-footer. I wouldn't mind if he and his brother, another certified starter for the Nets, Brook, become naturalized Filipinos. Puedeng puede kasi pati apellido nila Pinoy na Pinoy.

chot already gave his answer on this one. sayang...imagine having an nba legitimate starting center.

Naisip ko na rin ito....probably the most feasible adjustment (we can make do with 11-man lineup, provided nandyan si Marcus, anyway Gary is negligible)

if these protests will be upheld then chot might as well drop gary and replace him with marcus. that's the most logical thing to do. anyway, nakaupo lang naman si gary...might as well replace him with someone who will be of great help.

Chot should lobby hard to include Slaughter in the Gilas line-up in the FIBA-Asia next year. The guy has a mid-range shot coupled with a savvy low-post game not to mention the length to block or change shots. Chot would have a luxury with 3 stratospheric guys in the line-up (Kraken, Blatche and Gregzilla). In my opinion, Junemar and Greg are equipped to match-up with Wang and Yi. Kayang kaya nila. Kung nasasabayan ni Junemar sina Tomic, Bourusis at Scola, ano pa kaya sina Yi at Wang.

i agree on your observations...chot could probably also want to take a serious look at sanggalang...a tall guy who can also shoot those mid-range jumpers.

I've been reading similar write-ups/comments/remarks about El Granada on various sports blogs/forums on the net.

at this time we can't do anything but prepare for the future...Train Greg Slaugther to be more dominant as well as Fajardo....look for young, tall, talented players at 6' 5" na pedeng i-train tulad ni Norwood na pedeng pamalit sa malilit natin na point/shooting guard...it's about time to face the scenario na kailangan natin ng malalaking player talaga at dapat continous ang build up...rolleyes.gif

Presuming Greg, Junemar and Marcus/Andray are in the FIBA Asia lineup next year, Gilas would have the ceiling to match up with anybody in the Asian region. Fajardo held his own against the big guys of Croatia, Greece, Argentina, Puerto Rico and Senegal and I'm pretty sure Slaughter will follow suit. Norwood could swing between SF and SG. RDO or Ping could play SF if Chot wants to go with a twin tower combo. RDO could even play SG if Chot wants to go with a big lineup featuring the stratospheric frontline of Greg, Junemar and Marcus/Andray.

While i agree with gregzilla in the lineup..IMO...id prefer either junemar or grezgzilla coming off the bench...at least we wont lose some height if ever one of them gets into foul trouble...pero napansin ko lang medyo mabagal talaga si greg...i meant mabilis sya for a pinoy big men...but mas mabilis sya sa mga asian big men?? Mukhang nde eh....anyway the lineup is already submitted...im just laughing why the sudden interest for the other team to protest marcus inclusion...theyd still finish with the silver medal with or without marcus lol....

Also...i agree with some of the previous comments...we should get more shooters in future gilas line up...mid range to 3-point range...id like to see lassiter and lutz included..sanggalang also(but who to replace)... The new rookies this year...rosser,banchero...alas is a given..after we see them show their wares in the PBA...
