Thats the sad part in our country, they wont give the team's player unless there is a deal. While in our neighboring countries, they welcome all to try out or they have full control of its roster. junix
it is now apparent that it is company's interest first before country. i may, however, be wrong on this. just when philippine basketball is gaining ground and has, in fact, caught the attention of world basketball powers due to its decent showing in the fiba world, we are again in this situation where lending of players is becoming to be the biggest problem. it just saddens me because neighboring countries, china in particular, once it chooses a player to represent, that player has no other recourse but to play for country. was this the case of wang zhizhi before? sabagay, dito kasi sa atin, ang lalaki ng sweldo. majority, if not all, would not want career-ending or near career-ending injuries to happen like what happened to paul george. mabibilang na lang siguro ang mga players na gustong makipagbakbakan for flag and country. bonanas
Kaya hindi go nagustuhan ang SMC teams and lately MVP teams. Sa PBA naman kitang kita yung mga hindi nila pagsunod ng rules.PBA, if there's still a "PBA" (SMC vs MVP na lang halos) turn a blind eye against those shady transactions and even favor them.

Next week SBP is expected to announce the final list of the national team’s pool of players for the Olympic qualifyier, giving Gilas less than two months to prepare for the event set from September 23 to October 3 in Changsha, China. Meanwhile the other asian countries were already preparing for the FIBA ASIA http://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/news/while-sbp-philippines-struggles-to-form-gilas-pool-here-is-what-other-asian-teams-are-doing-ahead-of-fibaAnd i thought after the last FIBA asia and fiba world...plus the embarrasing asian games debacle....you would think the gilas committee would have learned their lesson already...inde na uubra yun mga last minute na paghahanda...magagaling na rin yun ibang mga asian countries...plus yun china at iran maagang nageensayo...tska nde ba alam ng PBA na pag dissapointing ang performance ng team pilipinas nagrereflect sa mababang game attendance ng PBA? Tapos nandyan parin yun bangaan ng mvp and smc group..i wont be surprised if we'll finish outside the top 5 .... Quote Link to comment
