Chocolates
MMA, boring na ang boxing. Quote Link to comment
Red_Flame
MMA, walang takbuhan mas mahaba pa ang rounds. Sa boxing, mahaba pa ang commercial at pormahan kesa sa mismong aksyon! Quote Link to comment
Nel Horan
Both sports are mentally and physically demanding.. i'm into boxing right now as part of my workout but i am a big MMA fan... Quote Link to comment
carcinohate
i agree totally that the talent pool of mma is comprised of skill sets that can hardly be called elite. But imho, that's the nature of the sport. In mma, you can literally use what you have.A football player with collegiate wrestling training finds out he's heavy handed with an average fight IQ and starts knocking people out. it's so hard to take him down because of his natural abilities. A street breakdancer (is that what it's still called? lol!) who can do gymnastic movements, double lotuses, etc finds out he can be a very crafty in jiu jitsu and do nasty knock out kicks in one package...You have something that can be used effectively in mma, youre in. In boxing, you need to be developed...into everything that makes up a boxer. No more, no less. Quote Link to comment

Panda69
boxing has become boring, mma is more exciting, but ufc fighters are paid very very low Quote Link to comment
Guiness
i think it depends on who is on the Card as to how they are paid. It's brand marketing, that's why boxers like Pacquiao and Mayweather make a lot of money is because people like to see them and they are two of the most talked about boxers today. Same with MMA people pay to see Anderson Silva or GSP fight, rather than see a relatively unknown fighter or even a pretty good fighter but not that good at marketing themselves so people will want to see them. Same with the Rousey fight against Holly Holm. People bought the tix so they could see Rousey. It's about the brand. The UFC has for years has been making a lot of money for their promotions than boxing. Boxing i think is dead, there's no big name draws for people to see. I doubt many people wanted to watch the Canelo vs. Cotto fight Quote Link to comment
PulangX
I love both sports but i think MMA is doing a lot better now in terms of match-ups. Quote Link to comment
carcinohate
OT: im so impressed with how our talented boxers have developed now. Kung napanood nyo yung huling Pinoy Pride sa U.S., grabe gumalaw yung mga boxers natin. Ang babata pa pero ang ganda ng timing nila. Compared to circa the 90's to the early 2000s. They have way better fight IQ now. Mas masasabi kong our style is better than most other countries. Quote Link to comment
carcinohate
BTT: MMA is an all around game pero boxing is an exact sport. Marami ka ring iaadjust sa style mo if you cross over either way. You cant bob and weave etc in mma just as you cant rely only on mma-style boxing in a boxing match. Quote Link to comment
Guiness
Boxers can transition into MMA because fighters usually have a base or a specialty when they start out. Like Wrestlers, Boxers, Muai Thai, Karate, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and other techniques. If you are a boxer, you can use those boxing skills you have and be a good striker but you have to incorporate the other disciplines to your boxing with wrestling, kickboxing, Jiu jitsu and other things. But the boxer will always have his boxing to fall back on. But as far as getting big time paydays they need to market themselves and of course win. Mayweather is one of those guys that know how to market himself and get people to watch his fights. People can get annoyed at how he starts talking trash and other things he says about other athletes but i think its all about the marketing, its all hype to me so you can get people to watch. GSP is another guy that i think knows how to market himself as well as Anderson Silva. Quote Link to comment
