"the" Ateneo usually runs out of gas or even worst... chokes during the games that matter. De La Salle, on the other hand, thrives on pressure. With the odds stacked against them, I'm sure De La Salle will dig deep from its history and school pride! This year's championship game will be epic. Both teams wants the penant badly. As they say, stats and team standing are thrown out the window when these two teams go head-to-head! Animo could also mean Have courage, so there you go... Anyway, I expect this to go three games, whether the refs play a role or not. This rivalry is as good as it gets. revi Posted September 19, 2008 Share Posted September 19, 2008 Even as a La Sallista, I am not too optimistic that my school would win this year's championship.. Well, that is what I felt last year, and we all know what happened.. But the Ateneo of this year is different from the UE team of last year.. UE was overconfident and La Salle just came out hungrier.. Ateneo this year is a well-oiled locomotive, with Chris Tiu driving.. La Salle's players, on the other hand, lacks consistency.. JV Casio and Maierhoffer are good players but offensively, they are not consistent enough especially Casio.. Defensively, Ateneo can evenly match La Salle's intensity.. But even with the odds stacked against them, I still hope for the best for my school.. One thing going for La Salle is that they are a team that wins when it matters.. ANIMO LA SALLE!!! ^Tim^ Posted September 20, 2008 Share Posted September 20, 2008 Well, this is one series even non Ateneans or La Sallians dig... as long as they luv their basketball :cool: Should be a good one... covered some of their battles in the late 90s... not finals though... the 90s were UST's time (mid 90s' that is)... then La Salle took over in '98... always luv the atmosphere... the crowd... the ladies :evil: and the game, of course... Paper says it's Ateneo.... but La Salle almost always gets the job done when it counts... hate 'em or luv 'em... they find a way... so no surprise herre if neither won... but hope Ateneo wins it... for Norman Black... he might won a 'Slam in the PBA... but a zilch in the UAAP... he might have many chances soon...but it's good to win one tis early... than regret later on...
