ganid
Isa pa po. About accusing your players of selling games when they do not perform well. It is the risk you run when you hire mercenaries to play for you. Chris Tiu had two consecutive low scoring games against UE and La Salle. Did anyone even hint at the idea that he may have been point shaving or selling the game. No way. That is not the Ateneo way. Sir, I think you missed the point I was trying to make totally. What I am saying is unlike in La Salle where whenever someone plays bad, Franz immediately assumes nagbenta since bayarin lang ang karamihan ng player niya, at the Ateneo, no one is even accused of selling games since that is not the Ateneo way. Moreover, the fact that Chris Tiu is financially comfortable is beside the point. I am sure that if Rabeh, Jai, Nonoy or Ryan had a bad game, they would not be accused of selling games either. wizard23
Sa Ateneo pa! pero forum po ito, kaya pinaguusapan po natin dito, hindi po ba? kung pikon talo na ang ibang La Salistang MTC dito (yung iba lang naman ah, baka sabihin generalization na naman ako, hehe), eh wag na kayong pumunta sa thread na ito. kuro kuro po kasi ito eh. hindi komo talo kayo ico-console na kayo. opinyon at kagustuhan mangalaska ng iba dito, bakit niyo pipigilan. at pwede po ba hindi lang La Salista at Atenista ang pwedeng mag-react sa thread na ito. basketball thread pa din ito, so kahit saang iskwela pa ang poster dito pwede magreact basta hindi off topic. hehehe pareng mike lowrey, di ko naman sinasabi na hindi pwede mag react ang hindi taga ateneo or lasalle dito. of course i know this is a basketball thread in particular the admu vs. dlsu thread. it only goes to show na this rivalry is not confined anymore to students from both schools, ganon na sya kalaking event, feeling ko nga basta me rivalry na ateneo vs. la salle parang national event na not to mention social event (kasi ang daming mga celebrity, politician na nanonood)sa totoo lang kasi masyadong madami ang involved, excited and even naaapektuhan. anyway, going back to your post. kaya ko sinabing move on na tayo, it doesn't mean na hindi ko tanggap pagkapanalo ng ateneo. kaya nga move on na, kasi tanggap ko ngang ateneo is the better team this year. weather weather lang yan e. like last year, dlsu naman ang college and h.s. champ. kaya lang yung pagkasabi mo na ang hirap mapatawad ng la salle sa ginawa nilang hindi pagsipot para kunin yung 2nd place award, ang dating e masyado mo namang dinidibdib ang action ng la salle. ano uli? mahirap mapatawad? parang personal a hehe. e kung ibang school yan o kahit ateneo pa yan kung sila ang 2nd place, para sa kin, to hell i care. not my problem anymore. problema nila yun. anyway, alma mater ko ang la salle pero yung hindi nila pagsipot para kunin yung troply, i try to understand and sympathize with their feelings but i do not approve of it dahil dapat kahit talo, we should accept it even in defeat. i don't even buy the idea na kaya hindi sinipot ay walang nagsabi sa kanila. this is B.S. it's SOP naman to come out and get it esp pag championship game. kahit man lang school rep sana ang lumabas para kunin kung walang player or coaching staff na willing kumuha. i don't even agree na kaya hindi nila kinuha yung trophy ay dahil sa fear na i boo boo lang sila ng mga atenista. nagmukha naman silang childish kung ganon ang reasoning nila. pero i agree with the announcer nung sinabi nyang it must have been a tough loss for la salle to accept the trophy kaya sila na lang ang tumanggap in behalf of la salle. medyo madaming boo boo si franz pumaren this year like abandoning the rp youth team and even blaming the refs for the loss. i think it's uncalled for. they should have just graciously accepted their defeat. anyway me next season pa naman and i'm sure franz will cook up something for next season to prepare the team better. i just hope la salle will be back with a vengeance next season. mas maganda nga kasi host ang ateneo next year. so ok i respect your opinion pre. wag na natin pahabain to. kung gusto mo mag comment pa rin, go ahead hehe. tutal me press freedom naman tayo e. hehe. peace. kanski
1. We won a great series. sayang nga lang sinira ng iba yung uaap 2008 by being sore losers. 2. We swept our favorite rival all by decisive margins 3. We won the juniors and the seniors titles 4. Matagal na kaming walang title but mind you, even when we were this close to the championship, we NEVER quesioned the way our opponent won or how we lost. Not in public anyway. That IS NOT the Ateneo way. ONE BIG FIGHT!!!!!! TWO BIG BONFIRES!!!!!!!!! ONE GREAT ATENEO!!!!!!! BLUE EAGLE THE KING!!!!!!!!! and to the question of a greenie in the posts above. I am mid 30s. My Dad is close to 50 and he was Blue Babble same as my sons, one on the cheering squad, the other on the training team. All my male (and now even my famale younger relatives) are all True Blue Ateneans!!!!!! all those reasons could be summarized in two words: to gloat. nothing wrong with it. ordinarily, this would be nothing as a simple right of passage everytime a uaap season ends the way it just did. however, i call to it's attention now given the number of times some ateneans here bashed the la salle team as being classless. doesn't gloating discredit one's call for his/her opponent to display some class? bato bato sa langit, ang tamaan... pangit. personally, i'll describe myself as class-less. if only to give credence to my affinity to gloat every now and then. my family has almost the same no. of greens and blues (and a whole lot of others from other schools that don't give a hoot about this rivalry). it's fun ribbing them atenean cousins. another thing, 'we' is a term you shouldn't have used in your reason no. 4. while it might be romantic to think that all ateneans are impervious to ways that are sinister, in reality, a lot aren't. i'll just assume that your family is above all these dark ways. boy, you're in your mid 30's? by the way you post, i could have sworn you were in your early 20's. congrats! FRENZEE
On the query on the ages of the people posting here, I'm 37. A true blue. Watched the whole series with my son who is in the Ateneo Grade School now. This is why I hate seeing DLSU not getting the trophy - I practically told my son, "You shouldn't be like them and there is also dignity in losing... graciously..." Quote Link to comment
kazium425
Well, that is why I posted an inquiry about their age. For me to understand the way they post in this thread. maybe u should try reading some of my post here and at the uaap season 71 thread and at www.inboundpass.com ...im already 24 and think if our post match our ages.... it's not with the age...it's either u have class or not.... complicated8
So the gossip is not true that Rico never did display the dirty finger but the ref saw one and it may be because by the way he looks at the opposing teams when he's taunting them he himself looks like a............. hehehehehe Did Baclao get a tech after the block on Rico when he was standing over him and shouting? Just asking. maybe u should try reading some of my post here and at the uaap season 71 thread and at www.inboundpass.com ...im already 24 and think if our post match our ages.... it's not with the age...it's either u have class or not.... There's a certain assumption that with age comes a bit of wisdom/knowledge/experience. If some young people have class, then it's great. If some old people don't, then we are just sorry about that. These are more of the exceptions. Edited September 29, 2008 by complicated8 Quote Link to comment

cyrus08
frankly speaking, I think Ateneo was a bit favored this season. sa awards pa lang, kulang na lang pati si jai reyes bigyan ng award Quote Link to comment
wackyracer
Well, that is why I posted an inquiry about their age. For me to understand the way they post in this thread. I don't think age is an issue here, you can be 18 and mockingly make fun of a player's tragedy with a bang bang gesture or you can be 40ish and be so childish as to snub a second place trophy. Pwede ka din maging senior citizen tapos batukan mo yung star player ng kalaban mo and make a dash to the exits. Wala sa edad yan kid. Quote Link to comment
