there are few pinoys like that, nagkaroon lang ng maayos na work or company, nakapag loan lang ng car, pero nagre rent pa din ng bahay, eh akala mo kung sino na, feeling rich na kahit na baon naman sa utang.

I'd still prefer self made. Those are the pioneers. If you were just the 2nd generation or the kids who inherited the wealth then there's no challenge because the hard part was already done... establishing a business, making a profit. In short, may capital ka nang malaki to expand. Kaya iba parin ang 1st generation old school start from scratch. That's why I don't listen to my wealthy friends, I listen to their parents or grandparents who started it all. Only exception to this rule is that kung ang 1st gen is the whole family, kasama yung mga anak na nag banat buto nung nagsimula mag negosyo at hindi kung kailan maunlad na.

maeestimate mo naman agad magkano talaga kinikita ng tao by just knowing ano sources of income niya. Pag hindi tumutugma yung source of income at yung lifestyle nila, you can guess na they're probably living a hand to mouth lifestyle. Actually ok lang yung magastos. Pera nila iyon it's their own business. It gets bad when people actually twist and fabricate their life story and make it appear that they're wealthy when the truth is they're not. Bad social climbers exaggerate so bad that all the evidence runs counter to what they are saying.

 

As for being flashy, masasabi ko talagang wala yan sa "old rich" "nouveau rich" kundi nasa personality yan ng tao. Common trait among the flashy wealthy people, yung mga merong something to prove rooting from their poorer days. From my observation, whether you'll be flashy or humble, depende sa environment mo noong lumalaki ka. Pag nasa environment ka na you were made to feel inferior pag wala kang pera, babawi ka talaga when you have the means. Pag nasa environment ka naman na your financial status wasn't taken that much against you, most likely you'll remain humble. Of course, no statistics for this, observation ko lang.

 

Never understood the whole pretending to be rich fiasco. If you're doing that to impress people (or ladies), you're underestimating them. Hindi naman sila stupid. If you're dressed so well and you eat outside a lot, but you couldn't even buy that car you badly need, malalaman din nila something's not right. You'll just be branded by the people you're trying to impress as a social climber.

well. maybe you are rich to them but not in your opinion. madalas ka mag eat out so malamang youre richer than them. if i see a friend eating out all the time i would also think that he is rich. siguro naman yung eat out mo hindi puro jollibee at mcdo. kaya talagang mapagkakamalan ka talaga
