Richmond
Better initiate trades in the off season to beef up their frontline use Cyrus Baguio and Chico Lanete as trade bait. There are a lot of quality big men in this year's rookie draft. They really need an inside presence. Quote Link to comment
howarddeduct
Agent_mulder
Sama ng inilaro ng Ginebra kagabi esp. Noel, ang ‘di ko maintindihan kay Noel tira s'ya ng tira sa labas ganong nakita naman n’yang ‘di naman nagki-click ang outside shooting n’ya, buti pa sina Tubid, Lanete at Mamaril who are taking it right into the heart of the smb defense, ganoon na nga ang ginagawa ng mga said players pero Noel still continue to fire-away from the outside to no avail, ‘di ko alam kung nag-iingat s’ya for a possible stint sa NBA Summer Camp or what, kung ako kay Uichico inilabas ko na lang si Noel as he is an eyesore dahil wala nang silbi on both ends of the court. I guess that a return stint for him sa Ginebra is far fetched after that dismal performance (esp. sa last 2 games ng finals). Kudos to Ginebra for making it that far kahit wala si Caguioa at sacrifice ni Helterbrand na maglaro kahit may hamstring injury (which is really evident sa performance n’ya). Anyways, Ginebra needs to acquire a legit center, to be able to make their presence felt para sa next season, what with teams like smb (esp. with the entry of arwind santos), coca-cola, tnt, etc. having a slew of big men, kailangan may pantapat sila sa mga big men ng aforesaid teams. photographer
kawawa naman si Noel, reading back, high praises sa kanya....ngayon dahil sa isang masamang night! tapos siya hahaha (benta, get out !, Loser, biyahe, hehehe) Lanete: (akala ko si Lanete natin. brother pala niya) Lanete’s consistency wins him scribes’ nod 07/19/2009 Simply for his consistency, San Beda guard Garvo Lanete was chosen as the NCAA Press Corps ACCEL-Fil-Oil Player of the Week for leading the Lions to a pair of convincing wins last week. Lanete, the youngest in the basketball-playing Lanete siblings headed by Barangay Ginebra’s Chico, averaged 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and 1.5 steals in 27.5 minutes per game to help his team remain in striking distance with the leaders. With the hard-working Lanete leading the fray, the Lions smashed the St. Benilde Blazers, 86-66, Monday and then followed it up with a 98-65 bashing of the Perpetual Help Altas Friday to improve to a 3-1 (win-loss) record and a shade behind the 4-0 Jose Rizal Bombers and San Sebastian Stags. And San Beda coach Frankie Lim was impressed with Lanete’s unbending consistency. "Garvo is very consistent. He always makes good decisions on the court, he makes the big shots and passes the ball well," said Lim. Another San Beda guard JR Tecson, Jose Rizal’s John Wilson and Letran’s Rey Guevarra were also mentioned in the weekly award, which is being backed by ACCEL and Fil-Oil. But after figuring in the crucial stretch of the last two games wherein he made the biggest shots, the group of sportswriters from the country’s leading broadsheets and tabloids, eventually gave the weekly honor to Lanete. The first two weeks, the NCAA PC picked Jimbo Aquino of San Sebastian and John Wilson of Jose Rizal as its first choices for the ACCEL-Fil-Oil plum. Quote Link to comment
