RED2018
SORRY FOR THIS OT... I have misgiving/apprehension on this experimental import-laden conference by the PBA, on the following salient points: 1. with one more import, some locals in each of the team's line-up will be left inutile or will have few minutes of playing time 2. with the Asian import under a limited height restriction, he's no better than most of the locals; remember that 'import' are supposed to be worth the pay grade and is 'dominant' 3. Asian basketeers are more adopted on international brand; thus, they will need time to acclimatize Dapat isa lang import (ginawa na yan dati- result: most of the stats are dominated by the imports; simple formula- have the best imports and presto, champion na team) Or the Asian import should have no height restriction. By that, we can learn to check those imports when we faced them in the Asian joust. Edited April 16, 2015 by artedpro Quote Link to comment
daphne loves derby
pwede bng isama na lng si Pena at Marcelo sa mga Chess players ang problema ng dalawang import mas lalong ninipis ang playing time at rotations would be at least 7-8 local players lng ang magagamit. hope this work for new coach Franky dapat talaga chess player na lang si pena but the trade of Billy Mamaril hurts and now resulted to lack of legit backup to Greg. Yes, Marcelo played center in the NCAA but almost lahat ng kalaban niya dun kasinglaki niya lang halos, unlike sa PBA na may mas malalaki, skilled at malakas tulad nina Thoss, Fajardo, Taulava, etc. at yung mga no height limit import na andyan pa rin so i think putting Marcelo at the C spot is dangerous. At magiging problemang malaki pa yan pag na injured si Greg (wag naman sana). Sino sesentro? yung Import??? Edited April 16, 2015 by daphne loves derby Quote Link to comment

Parang nabasa ko before...na may team na balak kunin si haddadi eh...kia ata(correct me if im wrong)...still seems doable naman...considering si pacman team manager/coach/ owner hehehehe Hmn...nice starting five...ang problem lang guys...if ever na si tunganga/tungala eh kasin caliber lang nina yeo/caguioa....remember...IMO...the best PG/SG in asia ...still comes from our country.....shooters lang ang lamang ng korea , japan and china eh...kaya para sakin asian import na less than 6'9" kinda useless pag kukunin lang natin...sayang lang playing time ng mga pinoy players natin talaga...majority of pinoy players natin kasi nasa less than 6'7" height eh Quote Link to comment
azraelmd
Talk ’N Text hired Jordanian veteran guard Osama Daghles, who was measured at 6-2 7/8 yesterday at PBA Office, Barangay Ginebra has signed Mongolia’s Sanchir Tungalag, who averaged almost 17 points per game in the last Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. Blackwater will also have a Jordanian in Immad Qahwash as Asian import.Read more at http://www.mb.com.ph/pba-teams-pass-up-on-asian-imports/#9uHdTVCafJII00l4.99 Edited April 16, 2015 by Kyoji_Kagami Quote Link to comment
daphne loves derby
Their main reason is to span the popularity and increase audience reach. The PBA thinks that having asian imports will attract asian viewers on live games and on internet/tv and increase more the leagues popularity as well as attracting foreign countries to invest (hopefully) on a team that will join in the PBA soon. But I think having one lone player in a team would not help, my suggestion before on PBA websites and forum is like these: 1st conference - All Filipino (no changes)2nd conference - With Imports (same rules, bottom 4 will have unlimited import height)*3rd conference - With height limit on imports on all teams, invite european/asian commercial teams to participate and separate the Gilas Pool and allow to participate in the tournament as a separate team. Two bracketing group system, Same Group members will fought twice and fight the other team members once. Top 4 on each bracket will advance forming the playoffs top 8. - with this kind of setup, you will still attract foreign viewers and interest, plus your giving all PBA players (not just Gilas) a taste of international basketball play which will benefit greatly the young ones or the 2nd generation PBA superstars. Ang main issue dito is yung gastos dahil who will shoulder the expenses of an entire team and yung quality ng teams and players from outside na sasali. But either way, IMHO, I think this is a better setup than having asian imports Edited April 16, 2015 by daphne loves derby Quote Link to comment

Especially with ginebra...diko lang masabi dahil kung ba sa bagong coach nila or sa 2 imports nila hehehehe Quote Link to comment
