What Do You Miss Doing?

I truly miss Christmas as seen from the eyes of a young child.

I miss going out with my old friends, many of whom now live overseas. Those who still live here are married and rarely get the chance to hang out. It's just not the same today like it was when we were still in school.

Going to amusement centers and playing video games after work. Di ko na magawa kung nasaan ako ngayon.

 

Yeah as a child, I loved going to amusement centers and playing with pinball machines, shooting galleries, etc. Wala pa atang video games noon. My parents prevented us as much as possible from spending our free time in those amusement centers. Sigh....the joys of childhood.

I also miss catching guppies in the creek near our house. Biking with childhood friends inside our village, and buying firecrackers in Bocaue to greet the New Year. The most powerful firecrackers back then were the bawang and the whistle bomb. Followed by the 5 stars and triangullos. I wonder if they even make these types of firecrackers anymore. Or if they do I wonder if they're now called by a different name.

I miss studying and living the school life. Truth be told, what they usually say is true, that once you start working, you'll just miss academy life.

1. Getting up late on Saturdays without the worry of time. Then spend the night in a laid back place and have some light drinks.

 

2. Tagaytay trips. Enjoying the scene. Dinner.

 

3. Being a passenger in long rides. Nice music for the background and talk about anything under the sun.

Yeah I feel the same way. The biggest responsiblities consisted of doing assignments, passing quizes and tests, submitting term papers, and passing final exams.

One of the things I enjoyed while growing up was buying firecrackers at Bocaue. Firecrackers back then were nothing like they are today. The most powerful were the whistle bomb and the bawang. It's been a really long time since I've bought firecrackers.

I miss going swimming without being conscious of my body and how i look. Yung tipong i dont have a care in the world about my boobs, kilikili and singit. Wish i were 12 y.o again.

I miss rock climbing...

last time i did rock climbing was 20 years ago. we always bought our equipments at hk, then repeatedly climb rock faces in angono, rizal. my friend owned a mountaintop there. funny thing, the rocks there are loose, grabbing for support is really tricky. can't do it nowadays.

 

now being 30 pounds heavier, whenever i raise my leg i call it crunching.

I so enjoy it when I have the floor for my report back in college. Like the teacher, their eyes on you and information is coming from you.

An 8-12hrs of sleep, usually I get 5hrs of sleep nalang on weekdays.

I miss target shooting with my air rifle. I used to be pretty good too. Unfortunately my arms aren't as steady as they used to. Way back, I could consistently hit a tansan (bottle cap) from about 50 meters without using a scope.
