(pretty long in coming, but i'm working on it.. heheh). unlimited internet.. could download anything from kazaa (at least until the crackdown ). our own laptops.. (well, sa totoo lang, deducted sa sweldo, but at least interest free).. officemates whose company i enjoy, all the hot and cold water you can drink.. heheh. worst part.. high-pressure work environment, long hours sometimes, very limited sightseeing potential, and the fact that you have to go to the empty parking lot beside my office building in order to go on a cigarette break (imagine how hard it is given the weather we've had the past week). Come to think of it, I feel much worse now because the company was very generous with pay increases before I came kasalanan kasi yon ng dating boss ko!- 2/3 of the employees are gone due to retrenchment and resignation- I'm in a dead end. I don't have any career path here.- The company is practically in a death spiral. The industry has taken quite a pounding these past few years. Good things:- Work ends at the office- I have time to study. Took three weeks off last May to study...- Internet access (but I have DSL at home...)- I have a good boss now I'd like to addBad things about being in the Philippines:- It's so damn hard to find another job- Politics puts everything on hold. Analysts say that companies might employ more people after the elections. Sabi nga ng mga friends ko ang tibay ko daw. Sabi ko naman ang baba kasi ng sweldo. Quote Link to comment

pre-ec_dude Posted June 27, 2003 Share Posted June 27, 2003 i'm an obstetricianthe best thing is that it never fails to bring me smiles whenever i deliver a baby and most of the time, my patients come to me happy and excited, unlike those of other specialties whose patients come in when they're sick or dying. i don't know if this one's good or bad...i get to see and feel women's privates everyday. but i have to block out all malicious thoughts while doing it and treat my patients with strict professionalism. and i get to see the both the pretty and the ugly (sometimes even the nasty :sick: ). it's hard being a dude in this job. can make you an asexual being.
