damaso
barca's brilliance: (as said by football pundits in england) “They were outclassed by an outstanding Barcelona team—a group of players who showed what grace, elegance and class of the highest order still exist far beyond the Elysian fields of the Barclays Premier League.” - Oliver Kay, The Times “Manchester United’s dream of a second successive Champions League triumph was shattered by the genius of Lionel Messi. United were passed to death by the seductive brilliance of Barcelona.” - Martin Samuel, The Daily Mail “To call Barcelona the champions of Europe this morning is to give them their lesser title. The one they demand, unquestionably, is champions of football.” - James Lawton, The Independent Quote Link to comment
damaso
probably the most impressive thing with barcelona is the fact that 7 out of the starting 11 in the final were from their famed youth academy "la masia" - messi, xavi, iniesta, puyol, valdes, pique, and busquets were all homegrown talent developed by barca. in this modern age where ridiculous amounts of cash is being splashed around (i.e. real madrid's galacticos, abramovich's chelsea, and now manchester city), its refreshing to see a club like barca climb the summit. protozoan
NEWSFLASH!!! Man United has already accepted Real Madrid's offer of $131M for Cristiano Ronaldo! A new galactico team in madrid and hopefully a new and better United! I think united should pick some of their junior players like danny welbeck and federico macheda and just use the money to pay off their debt.. although they would surely need a strong midfielder in the mold of roy keane..
