very nice goal by giggs against the hammers last night to get the 3 points & get the red devils back on top of the epl :)..the defense was again superb with van der sar protecting the goal; manutd has now gone 13 games without conceding a goal; surpassing the british record for longest period without conceding a goal..

with the pairing of vidic & ferdinand; the left backs evra & o'shea as well as the right backs, neville & brown, & with evans & the da silva twins maturing, galing talaga ng mga defenders ng manutd, i hope they can maintain the streak :)..go red devils!!! :)

carlton cole played very well last night, he was a handful for vidic & ferdinand, he was very strong as well as having the speed to outrun defenders, he was drogba-like hehe..westham played well last night & showed signs of confidence which has helped them win games in the league, mukhang magaling na coach si zola, he knows his team, plays everybody to their strengths & his helping his lads gain confidence to win games..

c.ronaldo was denied a penalty late in the 2nd half despite being tripped by lucas neill in the penalty box, sayang, we need to score goals as much as possible para when it comes down to goal difference sa title, we have some breathing room..

Huntelaar: I want to leave Madrid!

http://www.espnstar.com/football/primera-l...ve-Madrid!/

Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar wants to leave the Real Madrid after only signing for them earlier last month.

The former Ajax Amsterdam forward has had a tough start to his Primera Liga adventure having been left out of Madrid's Champions League squad while only featuring three times in the league totaling 151 minutes.

Spanish daily AS quoted the player telling his close friends: "I can't stand this situation anymore. They (Madrid) have neither included me for the Champions League nor do they want to play me in the league. Juande (Ramos) does not have any confidence in me. I want to leave Madrid. I can't bear this."

Once courted by European giants like Chelsea, Manchester United and Juventus, Huntelaar decided to choose Madrid which has proved to be the wrong choice so far for the giant hitman.

He has reportedly informed his agent, Arnold Oosteweld to hold talks with the club to clarify his future.

I am an Arsenal fan but as much as I hate it Man United is really a very strong team. Strong in a sense that they have too much quality. Much like Chelsea during Jose's reign. They can almost have 2 starting 11 in their line-ups. As far as Liverpool, I do not see Rafa's quty in buying talent. More than half of the players he purchased have already left the club.

medyo mainit na ang exchanges dito ah!...hehe...as the brits would put it...its hotting up!

ManU looks really strong for this season...maybe another silverware is in the bag but I highly doubt their CL chances

Chelsea has just sacked Big Phil ...and might go back to "the ordinary one" Avram Grant till the end of the season...

Pompey also sacked Tony Adams..

Villa is showing good form...but is doubful that they will have enough gas in the tank to last till the end of the season...so in the end...evrything will be back in its natural order...and it will still be the traditional big 4 on top of the table at the end of the season....

Roman personally fired Scolari!

http://www.espnstar.com/football/premier-l...d-Scolari!/

A spokesman for Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was responsible for his sacking.

According to Scolari's agent, Acaz Fellegger, the Brazilian coach had the full support of Chelsea's chief executive Peter Kenyon. Fellegger instead pointed the finger at the club's multi-billionaire owner

"It seems that Abramovich made the decision," Fellegger told newspaper Lance earlier.

"He [scolari] was not in a comfortable situation despite having the support of the squad and Peter Kenyon."

Fellegger also pointed out what Scolari felt what was ailing Cheslea: the lack of a youth programme and an ordinary first-team. The former Portugal coach also rued Robinho's failure to arrive at Stamford Bridge.

"The Chelsea squad are old," Fellegger continued. "Felipe tried to rejuvenate it, but unsuccessfully.

"He asked [the board] to sign Deco and Robinho, but they only bought Deco."

Fellegger also dismmissed suggestions that Scolari had problems with the English language. He revealed that Scolari had worked hard to become fluent and competent in the language - in order to give responses at press conferences in English.

"The English language has never been an issue for him as he has given many interviews in English," he added.

On Sky Sports News, Scolari issued a statement through Fellegger's website and said he would communicate with the media soon and wished his former club all the best.

"I wish luck to Chelsea in the three competitions they are involved in," the statement read.

"I also take this opportunity to confirm that I will keep living in London and I will respond to the media soon."

brazil 2 italy 0

in a surprisingly entertaining friendly, brazil scored 2 beautiful goals. the first, a great passing move finished by elano. the second was even better. an incredible solo effort by robinho.

both goals by man city players.

under mark hughes, robinho has played well but has been inconsistent. elano, the star of last season, has had a terrible one this year. and jo didn't even play more than a handful of games, but had a spectacular debut with everton. maybe mark hughes doesn't jive well with brazilians...

win or lose, the essence of being a liverpool fan is this.

"you will never walk alone".

liverpool is a club rich in tradition and will continue to be that way. being on the top 2 or 3 or EPL is an ahievement in itself. as to winning the EPL, well see. hopefully we will win it and CL glory.

Hiddink confirms Blues role

http://www.espnstar.com/football/premier-l...rms-Blues-role/

Russia coach Guus Hiddink has confirmed that he expects to be in charge of BPL giants Chelsea by the start of next week.

Chelsea were quick to make their move for Hiddink after sacking Luiz Felipe Scolari on Monday.

Hiddink is close to Blues owner Roman Abramovich, who helps finance his role with Russia.

Now Abramovich has turned to Hddink to take Chelsea through to the end of the season.

"It's to help out a friend. Abramovich is doing so much for Russian football and I want to do something back," Hiddink told Dutch Radio station 538.

Hiddink will combine his domestic duties at Chelsea with his current role as Russia boss and he has few qualms about the dual role, which he has previous experience of when in charge of PSV Eindhoven and Australia.

"At the end of March there are two qualification matches, then again in June. So it is possible and at the end of the English season it's over.

'Within a few days I will go to London. I expect to be on the pitch next week."

Hiddink has given little thought to staying beyond the end of the current campaign.

He said: "There are two scenarios: it goes bad and they say 'go back east' or it goes well, but I'm not thinking that far ahead."

Man United 1 Other Clubs 923

http://www.espnstar.com/football/news/deta...ther-Clubs-923/

Ever wondered how many managers have come and gone since Sir Alex Ferguson took over at Manchester United?

Fergie took the reigns back in November 1986 and has since gone on to win tons of honours with the Red Devils.

However, the same cannot be said of the other big English clubs as a whopping 923 managers have been hired and ousted in his 23 years stay.

Cutting it down to bite size for our readers, a much smaller sum of 193 rival bosses from the 19 Premiership clubs currently in the top flight have been ousted from their seats while the Old Trafford head honcho is still going strong.

Eduardo returned to the first team squad and opened his account with 2 goals...Theo Walnut set to return soon and Fabregas set to train within the next 10 days.....

nice win by arsenal against roma, van persie with a nicely taken penalty to win the game for the gunnars..henry gets the away goal against lyon..

real vs liverpool later, sana maganda laban :)

both of my teams are looking good:

barcelona with an away goal against lyon. altho i'm concerned with victor valdes' form - two bad errors in his last 2 games. still, 1-1 with the home leg at the nou camp is not a bad result at all.

liverpool, to my pleasant surprise, wins 1-0 at real madrid. real madrid has been a different team under juande ramos. prior to the game, they lost to barca and then went on a 10 match winning streak. so liverpool, esp with their inconsistent form, winning away was unexpected.

i honestly thought that the inter-man utd game was thrilling. both sides were slugging each other out in terms of shots on target. i especially liked adrianos sublime ball control kills in holding the ball on top, not to mention ibrahimovics technique. ronaldo spurned alot of chances, was sharp on that match but J. Cesar is equally as sharp. I think he (cesar) was man of the match. 2nd leg should be exciting.

On the other end, liverpool with the trademark late goals against the mighty real madrid in the bernabeu! woohoo! and thats without gerrad and torres mind you, to those anti-liverpool fans. now we have a 2 goal cushion with our 2nd leg to be played at THIS IS ANFIELD. we should finish them off 2 weeks from now. well be looking forward to quarters.

the only 2 matches worth reviewing.

my prediction for the quarters?

InterMilan vs Arsenal

i honestly thought that the inter-man utd game was thrilling. both sides were slugging each other out in terms of shots on target. i especially liked adrianos sublime ball control kills in holding the ball on top, not to mention ibrahimovics technique. ronaldo spurned alot of chances, was sharp on that match but J.

InterMilan vs Arsenal

barceleno vs Porto

Chelsea vs villareal

Liverpool vs bayern munich

I hope that your prediction would come true :thumbsupsmiley: My favorite teams are chelsea and bayern munchen and it would be exciting to see them play and aspire for silverware especially since both aren't sure yet of their respective domestic league titles. Bayern Munchen might get the bundesliga at the end but for chelsea....hmmm..... Would also be exciting to see Messi play in the CL finals though. I miss seeing AC Milan and Kaka in the CL.

Rafa: Title United's to lose

http://www.espnstar.com/football/premier-league/news/detail/item212941/Rafa:-Title-United's-to-lose/

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has all but conceded the Barclays Premier League title to Manchester United.

This comes after seeing his side slip up at Middlesbrough.

The Reds' unbeaten 15-game league run came to an abrupt end at the Riverside Stadium as Xabi Alonso's own goal and Tuncay Sanli's 63rd-minute strike saw Boro clinch all three points for the first time since November 9.

United are now seven points better off than the men from Anfield, who have played a game more.

Asked if the title race was over, Benitez, whose side have slipped into third place behind Chelsea on goal difference, said: "Before the game, it was very difficult - after the game, it is more difficult.

"It depends on United. It will be more difficult, clearly."

Boro, who had not scored a league goal in 526 minutes of football, took a 31st-minute lead with the help of the unwitting Alonso.

The Spaniard stuck out a leg as Stewart Downing's corner sped across the box and only succeeded in turning it past goalkeeper Jose Reina.

However, there was nothing fortunate about Boro's second, Tuncay shooting across Reina and into the bottom corner from Jeremie Aliadiere's pin-point cross.

Liverpool, who had gone close through Nabil El Zhar and Dirk Kuyt before the break, squandered glorious opportunities after it with the same two men guilty of glaring misses.

And the home side might have won even more comfortably with substitute Marlon King forcing a late save from Reina and then having a goal ruled out for offside at the death.

Benitez, whose team beat Real Madrid at the Bernabeu Stadium on Wednesday evening, said: "I don't want to say too much, but for me, it is very clear. In the first 30 minutes, we had five chances and you have to take your chances.

"After the own goal, we still had chances. If you want to win, you have to score."

The Spaniard denied that the club's off-field problems - his contract remains unsigned, while it has been announced that chief executive Rick Parry will leave Anfield at the end of the season - were a factor, but also revealed that his own situation could progress soon.

He said: "My advisers are in contact with the advisers of the owners, so maybe they will have a conversation and we will see if we can progress.
