FF
with the injury bug reducing the jazz roster to nine ... utah ekes out a road victory over the kings 99-94. significant stat : six of the nine players suiting up for the jazz scored in double figures ( including morris almond with 12 points ) on the way to a 51% fg average . gift_of_game
lovin' how this team is getting it done right now. they'll only get better once they let Boozer walk away and add a few more complementary pieces. Quote Link to comment

gift_of_game
jazz take easy win over d slumping raptors 114-87. anu b yan tambak.... may twin towers na eh.... they actually have "triple towers"... the problem there is that not one of those guys really plays "big"...all 3 are finesse forwards who play away from contact... and hey FF, any news on what the Jazz plan to do with Boozer's expiring deal? FF
they actually have "triple towers"... the problem there is that not one of those guys really plays "big"...all 3 are finesse forwards who play away from contact... and hey FF, any news on what the Jazz plan to do with Boozer's expiring deal? AFAIK ... no ongoing / planned negotiations for contract extensions in the works. kevin o'connor has always played his cards close to his chest. i see boozer playing out his contract and re-signing with the jazz . sloans's bump and grind , power forward oriented offense makes boozer look better than he is and boozer knows this. millsap looks spectacular but his lack of a consistent mid range jumper will be a liability in the playoffs. in today's game ... suns trip jazz 106-104. significant stat : in a close game ... free throws are critical. suns outscore the jazz from the line ... sinking 29-40 while the jazz misfire ... going 19-29. gift_of_game
great points... though part of me feels like Booze will be chasing the $$$ and end up somewhere else. Quote Link to comment
FF
great points... though part of me feels like Booze will be chasing the $$$ and end up somewhere else. if this happens then it's going to be tough getting a vet willing to 1) move to the boondocks 2) play for old school sloan. if ak is still around ... look for him to slide to the 4 and split time with millsap while the jazz to look for a free agent 3 . gift_of_game
there's always the under-the-radar man Joe Johnson...though I do feel Motown's got dibs on him. Quote Link to comment
FF
there's always the under-the-radar man Joe Johnson...though I do feel Motown's got dibs on him. gog ... do you have the feeling that dumars will blow up the team after this season ? the signing of iverson hasn't paid dividends yet though the biggest benefit would be to the team's salary cap when iverson's humongous $ 20 M salary comes off the books by next year. re jj ... the guy's an unrestricted FA in 2010 so is a prime candidate to be traded next year. motown might be a stop but if detroit rebuilds as projected , things won't be as attractive for johnson. looking at the 2009 FAs ... no one stands out as a candidate for the jazz so a trade might be an option for the utah front office. btw boozer and brevin knight might be back soon for the jazz who have now lost over 69 player games ( vs just 24 last year ) due to injuries. gift_of_game
it's a bit hush-hush but just like Phoenix and Dallas, we're rebuilding/retooling. Dumars will most likely let Iverson and Sheed walk. I just don't see a scenario where we'll get them back for less and on shorter terms. in all fairness, if things go as planned and Joe D pulls it off, we could return to contender status as soon as he signs a big money FA by 2010.he's probably hoping that it's gonna be LeBron (fat chance, haha) but Bosh or JJ would do just fine. we do need size and a bit more talent on the frontcourt though so I wouldn't be surprised if we opened the wallet a bit for Paul Millsap next summer...
