The Wranglers were down by four with only 16 seconds remaining and snatched the 1980 Open Conference crown from a stunned Toyota squad in overtime. An American team, Nicholas Stoodley, with Larry Pounds, Larry Moffett, and Kenny Tyler won the 1980 Invitationals. The season saw the overwhelming display Crispa took in capturing the All-Filipino Championship. The Redmanizers won 19 straight and lost only one game all Conference.

For those eternal lovers of (Penny) Loafers and Topsiders, during those times we had Sebago, Haruta, Docksides, Sperry, Timberland, etc. Today, we still have those Sperry and Sebago plus additions like Rockport, Lacoste, Florsheim, Bass and even Italian brands.

 

Question:

1. Which loafers and topsiders were the best during the eighties?

2. How do loafers and tops compare with themselves now?

3. How do you find the other new players?

 

What I can say about the 80s version is that those shoes were really original from either the USA or Japan as compared to the ones today.

 

Today, I still go for Sebago plus the new players, Rockport and Bass

10. Wala pang kapamilya buwiset station dahil hawak ni Macoy. Broadcast City ang sikat noon.

11. The Old GMA station is where we watched great foreign TV series, much better than the trash they are showing today.

12. No Political Rallies and Activists, a lot of them are salvaged! (yun ang tawag pag natagpuan ka sa mga damuhan sa bacoor) :cool:

13. DM transit. hari ng daan lahat ay sasagasaan. those buses together with JD transit (the lawanit bus) were plowing EDSA, at that time, with lots of trees kaya di gaano polluted.

14. Love Bus (first aircon buses, talagang malamig!)

15. Mobile Disco, my group Audioscan, lagi kami noon sa Metroclub in Bel-Air at sa Aberdeen Court in Quezon Avenue.

16. We use turntables and not CD players, kaya kailangan magaling ka mag mix kung hindi walang sasayaw sa dance floor.

17. Cubao, Harisson Plaza, Luneta were the place to be, wala pang mga SM Malls.
