THE HARDYS FUTURE

The current plan is to keep both Hardys as singles wrestlers. As noted before, they were only supposed to be a team for one shot, but one shot kept leading to another because they are so over as a team. At one point the plan wasn't even for them to challenge Cade & Murdoch at Vengeance, but they're pretty low on tag teams marketable enough to appear on a pay-per-view, so they got the nod again.

 

Current plans call for Matt Hardy to get a singles push with a long-term soap opera storyline. The idea is to use him as the type of babyface who loses all the time but stays over anyways. That doesn't seem all that different from his role when he returned to WWE, but the difference is that he'll beat some people higher on the card and only lose to the top people.

 

In regards to Jeff Hardy, there is talk of tweaking his character. They want to give him prankster character where he does pranks on other wrestlers backstage. This may be a way to use him in the upcoming 'Jackass' angle.
