Whenever I go to the provinces, I make sure na matitikman ko ung local delicacies nila. I may be biased in this but my all-time, sentimental favorite is binutong. It's a native rice kakanin from the Bicol Region. It is made with coconut milk and it is really delicious. To taste binutong, you have to wake up early. 0600H ang you are lucky kung meron pa.

When in Bicol, I always go for Binutong.

Binutong is a bicolano delicacy made up of glutinous rice with coconut cream, wrapped in banana leaves. The banana leaves gives a wonderful flavor to the rice. This is often served as breakfast or merienda, and best paired with hot chocolate or cofffee.
