Relatively new to nissan. I bought a teama back in 2012 . Angst ang interiormamd

Cabin niya compared sa camry and Accord. Iba ang quality ng leather. Then i used to drive

My carrera 4s which i bought way back 2009

. Then one summer say ng 2013 , inupakan ako ng gtr. Sold my carrera 4s and bought a gtr. Very happy with it although the car lacks refinement

It turned out that the fuel pump of the ga13ds is malfunctioning. The mechanic said that the "diaphragm" is leaking fuel, causing the fuel to mix with the engine oil. This "thins" the oil causing the valve train noise. The mechanic said I should order a geniune or oem fuel pump (mechanical type). Any ideas where I could get one?

I love our old nissan sentra B13 1993 JX super sulit we had it for 19 years nabili namin second hand. But the car really serves it purpose well. Di siya sakit ng ulo. I miss our first family car. Broke my heart when my mom sold it. Nag aaral pa brother ko mag drive noon. Ng may pumunta sa house namin to test drive the car. Matapos ma test drive binili na at inuwi the same day...

The Nissan Tsuru is quite possibly the most important car you’ve never heard of. It began life as the 1991 B13 Nissan Sentra, but would become a major player in many parts of the world, as well as the flagship for a whole era of the automotive industry in Latin America. It’s also one of those odd cases of a car which competed with itself, with Tsuru-badged B13 cars being sold right alongside Sentra-badged B14 (and beyond) cars in the same dealerships for years in Mexico.

The Nissan Sentra is in actuality the Nissan Sunny. The name Sentra is used in the US as well as Brazil, Chile and a number of other countries in the Americas. In Mexico it was known as the Tsuru, the Japanese word for crane, for the first three generations. But when Nissan de Mexico wanted to keep selling the B13 car as it was when it was first introduced in 1991, newer Sunny models adopted the name Sentra, while the old platform kept the Tsuru name. Mexico is actually ranked number eight by volume for car-producing countries, making it an essential market for automakers like Nissan.

 

But unlike Brazil, the other big name in Latin American automotive production (and number seven worldwide), Mexico gets very few cars made specifically for its market. So when it was decided to continue the B13 Tsuru, but with some Mexico-specific tweaks, the car started seriously picking up in popularity. The Tsuru would become the most popular car in Mexico starting in 1997 and this would continue all the way up until 2011, when it was dethroned by the Volkswagen Jetta. The popularity of the car is easy to understand; it’s cheap because it’s basic, and not because corners were cut.

Nissan PH marks its second anniversary with 50 percent growth in sales

LED BY its president and managing director Antonio Zara, Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) marked its second anniversary recently with a raft of significant milestones, including a 50 percent growth in sales in the first eight months of 2015 compared to the same period last year.

What’s more, NPI unveiled during its anniversary celebration the 2016 Juke, the much-anticipated funky subcompact SUV that will add youthful pizzazz to the NPI lineup starting next January.

In his welcome remarks, Zara said NPI is celebrating its second anniversary of delivering on the Nissan brand’s promise of “Innovation that excites” by offering a wide variety of vehicles and innovative services that will make every day driving experiences more rewarding for everyone.

Auto industry observers may recall that NPI took over the marketing and sales operations of the Nissan brand in December 2013 from Nissan Motor Philippines Inc. and Universal Motors Corp., both of which became its partners in the assembly of Nissan vehicles for the Philippine market.

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. (NML) of Japan now owns 51 percent of NPI, the consolidated national sales company.

 

“In its first two years of operations, NPI has brought back the excitement in driving through a series of new product launches, which brings the refreshed versions of almost each vehicle to the local market,” Zara said at the anniversary celebration.

At present, the NPI lineup consists of the Sylphy (replacing the Sentra), the Altima, the Almera, the X-Trail, NP300 Navara, NV350 Urvan, and the Patrol Royale (now priced at P3.99 million), with the Juke waiting in the wings.

The Altima is made in the United States, the Sylphy and Navara come from Thailand, while the Juke, X-Trail, NV350 Urvan and Patrol Royale are manufactured in Japan. The Almera and Patrol Super Safari are assembled in the Philippines.

 

Another innovation that NPI will offer to its customers starting Nov. 3, 2015, is the Nissan Parts online store portal, the first in the local auto industry.

Also this year, NPI gave young gamers the chance to realize their dream of becoming a race car driver by launching the Nissan PlayStation GT Academy, the first international driver discovery and training program to be brought to the Philippines.

Thousands of young gamers nationwide were challenged to prove their racing prowess both online and on the race track.

The six fastest and most qualified were sent to the famous Silverstone race camp in England last August to compete with contenders from India, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia for the first Nissan GT Academy Asia championship, which the Philippines’ Joward Policarpio won.

Flair and passion

“The Nissan GT Academy heralded the democratization of motor sport in the country,” Zara said, adding that the program is another Nissan innovation.

“From its very beginnings, Nissan has displayed a flair for innovation and a willingness to strike out into territories unknown. This passion is what led the company to become a major player on the world automotive stage.”

Zara wants Nissan’s passion for innovation to be felt by NPI customers. “We want them to rediscover that excitement they once felt when they heard the word ‘Nissan.’ Through all our efforts, we hope that we can encourage the Philippine market to rediscover Nissan.”

He acknowledged that NPI still has a long way to go to bring back Nissan’s glory days of the 1980s and 1990s when the brand became a household name in the local automotive scene, ingraining itself in the Filipino psyche through iconic vehicles like the Sentra, California, Frontier and Terrano.

With the goal of revitalizing the Nissan brand, NPI launched at its second anniversary celebration the “Rediscover Excitement, Rediscover Nissan” campaign.

“It isn’t just a milestone,” Zara said. “It is Nissan’s way of showcasing to the public that it is truly back, and is here to stay.”

Nissan Promises More Engines, Studies Hatchback for Sentra

NEWPORT COAST, CA – Nissan says more engine offerings are due for its U.S. Sentra compact car in the future, while it also studies, after a 26-year absence, a hatchback version of its sedan-only C-car.

“From a product standpoint, in the future you’ll see more engine offerings, and it’s full steam ahead. We’re fully focused on the segment,” Michael Bunce, director-product planning for Nissan North America tells WardsAuto in a recent interview in Detroit.

The current seventh-generation Sentra comes with just one engine, a 1.8L naturally aspirated 4-cyl. Competitors offer at least two choices of engine, including Honda which has a 2.0L naturally aspirated 4-cyl. as well as a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cyl. in the new ’16 Civic sedan.

Ford, Hyundai and Kia also offer more than one engine in their respective Focus, Elantra and Forte compact cars.

Meanwhile, another Nissan official says the brand is studying reviving a Sentra hatchback.

The first- and second-generation Sentra, in market in the U.S. from 1982-1990, were available in a 3-door hatchback body style, as well as a 5-door variant dubbed a wagon.

Reasons to revive a C-segment hatchback in the U.S. would be to offer consumers another choice and match the competitive set, Tony Baehner, senior manager of product planning-NNA, tells WardsAuto at a ’16 Sentra media preview here this week.

Reasons not to pursue the body style he says are the growing popularity of B- and C-segment CUVs, essentially hatchbacks with a taller ride height.

The C-segment hatchback segment in the U.S. also is dominated by two models: the FordFocus and Mazda3 hatchbacks, which up to this point have made it hard for challengers to break into the sector. Baehner says this is reflected in the less-than-10% take rate of hatchback versions of other C-cars, including the Elantra and Forte.

A new player is coming in the form of the ’17 Chevrolet Cruze 5-door, introduced at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit this month and set to go on sale later this year in the U.S. Baehner says Nissan will monitor the Cruze’s sales in determining whether to pursue a Sentra hatch.

The Sentra’s platform mate, the Renault Megane, already is available overseas as a 5-door and is a possible guide for development of a Sentra hatch.

(CAGI), 2015 Best Compact Utility Vehicle in the Middle East Car of the Year (MECOTY) awards, and the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick in 2011, among others.

The Juke features an SUV’s high seating point for ease of road visibility, and agile handling, all in a subcompact size. It’s unique exterior design is characterized by high set front combination lamps, with large round head lamps under. The mesh grille and under guard air intake lend a sporty look. Strength and sportiness is reflected in the muscular lower body sides as well as a sloped rear roofline and the embedded rear door handles in the rear pillars.

Inside, the center features motorbike-inspired hooded gauges, sports-bolstered seats, and color-keyed door trim. The Juke uses an intelligent control display called the Integrated Control System (I-CON). This multi-colored system allows drivers to change both the drive and climate modes at a touch. In Drive mode, the I-CON system offers three different settings – Normal, Sport and Eco, each adjusting aspects like steering, transmission and throttle response for the kind of driving desired.

The new Nissan Juke is now available at all Nissan dealers as a 4×2 variant with an SRP of P980,000.

The Nissan Patrol may become America's next Armada

Plausible rumors are swirling that the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser rival sold outside of North America, might come to the US as a replacement for the unrelated Nissan Armada. That large SUV's future was left ambiguous after the news of the Xterra's discontinuation, as Nissan's press release ominously promised information on the Armada "at a later date" without further elaboration. That left us scratching our heads and thinking that, perhaps, it would be quietly killed off in the future.

If the rumors are true, it will be. And then it will be reborn. It'll join its old platform-mate, the Infiniti QX80, on the Patrol platform. The QX abandoned its Titan-based platform in 2011, becoming the Patrol-based QX80. So you can think of the Armada as catching up, a few years late.

The QX80 was refreshed last year, a mainly cosmetic nip-and-tuck. The Infiniti utilizes the 5.6-liter, 400-hp V8 and a 7-speed auto, so it's a safe bet that this powertrain will make it into the Armada version. Less likely, but plausible, would be the availability of the new powertrains intended for the Titan XD and upcoming lower-gradeTitans. The massive SUV market tends to be a bit conservative, so the Cummins diesel V8 that's the sole engine in the Titan XD right now seems unlikely.

The forums are abuzz with a photo of what's purported to be a leaked marketing image of the new Armada, so head to this TitanXDForum thread if you'd like to see what that's about. (Spoiler: it looks a lot like the Patrol above, minus some of the Nismo flair.)

Sentra gets major upgrades for 2016

There are a good dozen alternatives in this segment and competition is fierce to say the least. The Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Mazda3, and Hyundai Elantra lead the way. At the other end of the spectrum, you’ll find the Mitsubishi Lancer, Dodge Dart, Subaru Impreza, and of course the Nissan Sentra.

Actions needed to be taken, which is why we’re witnessing a serious mid-cycle update for 2016. Instead of the usual cosmetic changes, Nissan took things further and fitted the Sentra with over 500 new parts. In other words, approximately 20% of the car is fresh.

On the surface

In terms of exterior styling, the 2016 Nissan Sentra considerably stands out from the outgoing model. The most striking evolution is arguably the brand’s signature V-motion front fascia. In fact, the whole front of the car was revised. LED headlights are now standard (SR and SL only) and add a touch of luxury. In the rear, the taillights sport a new design, just like the bumper. These changes are more subtle, mind you. Overall, I’d say Nissan succeeded in injecting life and excitement into the Sentra’s look.

Designers tried to do the same inside, but the result is far less impressive. Although the steering wheel and centre stack are new, the general layout and ambiance remain quite sober. On a positive note, Nissan incorporated an Advanced Drive Assist Display in the middle of the gauges, providing a host of information such as fuel consumption, range, safety alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, caller ID, and more.

Ultimately, though, there is still some work to do. Certain materials could be improved, while the new seats are definitely not the most comfortable out there. Heck, I couldn’t even lower them enough to enjoy a proper driving position. Taller folks will curse these buckets, for sure.

Beyond all the glitz

The good news is that the 2016 Nissan Sentra received a number of invisible updates that enhance the driving experience. This car has long been considered a rolling appliance, but the latest iteration proves a little more pleasant on the road.

For starters, engineers revised and reinforced the suspension for better stability. They also gave the steering a heavier, more connected feel. Don’t expect 370Z-like handling, of course, or something that comes even remotely close to the new Honda Civic or Mazda3. But the fact of the matter is that the updated Sentra is more enjoyable to drive and compares with the Toyota Corolla.

Delivering a smooth, quiet ride has always been its forte, and Nissan raised the bar for 2016 with the addition of sound-deadening material. I really like the Sentra’s plush demeanour.

Minor tweaks to the powertrain

Under the hood is the same 1.8L 4-cylinder that produces 130 horsepower and 120 lb-ft of torque. The standard 6-speed manual transmission can be replaced by an Xtronic CVT on most trim levels.

The latter has never been a favourite of mine due to its unpleasant drone under acceleration. However, the third-generation unit is much more tolerable with simulated gear shifts that keep engine revs at more decent levels. It is certainly a step in the right direction even though passing manoeuvers remain fairly noisy.

What about technology?

What gadgets does the 2016 Nissan Sentra have in store for technophiles? Well, there’s NissanConnect and its many different features allowing you to stay connected on the go. Remember that these come at a price, though, and are only available in top trim (SL).

On the flip side, Apple’s Siri can be had in SV, SR, and SL models. It works with your iPhone, enabling you to make calls, send text messages, set reminders and more — all without taking your eyes off the road or your hands off the wheel.

The 2016 Nissan Sentra in short

Nissan has nicely repositioned the Sentra to better compete with other compact sedans. Having said that, I’m not sure the 2016 update will be enough to make a real difference in the short term. Hopefully, the next-generation model will build on that and become a force to reckon with.

VEHICLES made in the North-East helped new car sales in January rise to an 11-year high, figures have revealed.

Nissan’s Qashqai and Juke models, produced at the firm’s Sunderland plant, were pivotal to pushing total UK registrations to 169,678.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said the number was the highest figure since January 2005.

According to its results, the Qashqai enjoyed sales of 4,839 last month, while the Juke clocked up 3,446.

The best-selling model was the Ford Fiesta, with 8,353 sales.

Mike Hawes, SMMT chief executive, said: “January’s solid performance puts the new car sector in a good position to start the year.

“Providing consumer confidence remains strong, we expect a more stable 12 months ahead, broadly similar to 2015, which was a record year.”

Mr Hawes added Volkswagen sales fell in the wake of the diesel emissions scandal, while other VW brands struggled, with Seat registrations down 24.6 per cent and Skoda dropping 2.4 per cent.

However, there was better news for Audi, which experienced a 1.4 per cent year-on-year rise.

The R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R is famous for dominating Australian Group A Touring Car racing in the early 1990s, and the 1991 ‘Godzilla’ you see here was snapped up by the passionate and devoted team at Nissan Australia at the end of 2015. It also happens to be one of the cleanest, most well-kept and most stock R32s in the country. Oh, and Nissan Australia also claims it was the first Australian delivered R32 GT-R to ever be sold here too.

In April 1957, the first Skyline was introduced by the Prince Motor Company and marketed as a luxury car in Japan. It was modestly powered by four cylinders and had received aesthetic updates over the years, including the rare Michellotti-styled Skyline Sport. The second generation (S50) was launched in September 1963, and it was still very much intended for the luxury segment in Japan.

Perceptions of the Prince Skyline would be radically altered with the introduction of the S54 Skyline 2000GT in May 1964. As it was squarely aimed at competing in the GT-II class at the second Japanese Grand Prix, its wheelbase was duly extended by 20 centimeters in order to accommodate the larger G7 six-cylinder engine over the modest inline-four. The S54B 2000GT was developed by Prince engineer Shin’ichiro Sakurai (Mr. Skyline), and it would dominate the Suzuka Circuit that year, finishing second only to a Porsche 904 Carrera GTS. After sweeping the 2nd through 6th places, and even briefly leading the Porsche, the Skyline legend was born.

The third-generation Skyline (C10), nicknamed “Hakosuka” (pronounced Hak-OH-skaa and loosely translated as Boxy Skyline), was introduced in 1968. It was originally conceived by Prince and was badged and marketed by Nissan after the companies' merger. With the success of the first 2000GT, Nissan further developed the Skyline with the triple-carbureted 2000GT-X and, the ultimate iteration, the 2000GT-R.

The first GT-R was introduced as a four-door sedan (Type PGC10) when it was launched in February 1969. It was powered by the race-derived S20 inline-six, which featured dual overhead camshafts, a cross-flow head with four valves per cylinder, and a hemispherical combustion chamber that was fed by triple dual-throat Mikuni-Solex side-draft carburetors. A two-door coupe version (KPGC10) would later debut in October 1970. Ultimately, only 832 GT-R Sedans were produced, making them exceedingly rare, even compared to its two-door brethren.

This GT-R Sedan was restored in Japan by a respected marque expert who stated that the car was an excellent and original example to begin with, and the work was completed in 2009. The Hako was imported by a knowledgeable collector of Japanese performance cars and includes a copy of the official Japanese Export Certificate, which states that the car had 55,300 kilometers as of February 5, 2010, and 56,200 kilometers on April 17, 2012. Currently, the odometer reads 58,200 kilometers, and as such, it has been driven just under 3,000 kilometers since its restoration and engine rebuild. This late-production GT-R Sedan features the revised “dog bone” front grille and headlight surrounds, giving it a more menacing look over the earlier series sedans.

The interior is very correct throughout and is finished in very hard to find materials, such as a correct shift knob and wood-rimmed steering wheel. It is extraordinarily complete, down to the nearly impossible to find emergency flashlight in its correct holder, which is mounted by the passenger-side footwell. While many Skylines often feature aftermarket Watanabe wheels, this example retains its rare and purposeful black steel wheels, giving it an understated yet imposing stance. Finally, not to be overlooked, this Skyline is complete with its original Nissan Motor tool roll, tire iron, jack, wheel chock, and trunk-mounted spare wheel and tire.

Today, an authentic Skyline GT-R Sedan is an exceedingly rare sight, as they are difficult to find even in Japan and are rhardly seen outside their domestic market. Despite the fact that it was never sold outside of its home country, the Hakosuka GT-R is celebrated by enthusiasts. Furthermore, it has developed a significant cult following amongst not only Japanese sports car aficionados but also, more recently, mainstream collectors who have an appreciation for the legendary stature and advanced engineering embodied in the original GT-R. Ask anyone who has had the rare pleasure of driving this very willing, high-revving, remarkably well balanced sedan, with its throaty rasp as a soundtrack, through twisting canyon roads, and you’ll find someone that has come away completely exhilarated and hooked.

The Hakosuka Skyline was the true progenitor of the legendary “Godzilla” GT-R, and this example represents not just Nissan’s introduction to motorsport but also the coming pinnacle of technology and innovation found in today’s formidable Nissan GT-R supercar.

The 2015 Murano won both the coveted Motorweek Drivers' Choice Award and the U.S. News Best SUV for the Money at the Chicago Auto Show.






Two major awards were presented to the 2015 Nissan Murano during the Chicago Auto Show last week. One was the coveted Motorweek television magazine Driver's Choice Award for Best Small Utility. The annual award is one of the most-anticipated in the industry and judges vehicles from the buyer's point of view for value, reliability, and innovation.


"Nissan is to be congratulated for making space in their crossover lineup for something truly different," said John Davis, host, Motorweek. "The Murano is not your typical suburban hauler. It mixes great practicality, with high style, at an affordable price, like no other utility. It's a combination that we think consumers will find impossible to ignore."


Also at the Chicago show, U.S. News & World Report named the 2015 Murano as the No. 1 Affordable Midsize SUV and the Best 2-row SUV for the Money. The Murano was a finalist for those awards last year, before its redesign, showing that it was already poised to win. U.S. News' Best Cars for the Money awards lists the vehicles they believe combined quality and value. These are scored and compared, with the car rankings at the magazine then listing them first to last over a five-year cost of ownership and price paid index.


Following a full evaluation, the 2015 Murano was noted for its "outstanding value and critical acclaim," among other qualities, to capture the crown of "Best 2-Row SUV for the Money." Earlier this year, the 2015 Murano beat out 11 fellow midsize SUVs to earn its current position as U.S. News "No. 1 Affordable Midsize SUV."
