id6230
There is a school of thought that advocates no vitamins-supplements. They even go further saying it is just a waste of money. I personally go for the natural vitamins not the synthetically manufactured. Quote Link to comment

That's absolutely true going all natural in terms of source of macro and micro nutrients is always better. So long as you have the luxury of time and money for it. As my fellow medical professionals would say exercise and diet is only thing you need. But in reality, majority of people can't follow it due to financial and time constraints. That why we have supplements are there to supplement our lifestyle. But if you would advocate going all natural please follow the recommendation of WHO & DOH for eating a balanced diet and exercise. Exercise - Starting age 18 onwards exercise WHO - a minimum 1hr to 1h 30 mins everyday (https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/physical-activity) DOH - a minimum 10 to 15 mins everyday (https://doh.gov.ph/press-release/PSC-LAUNCHES-HOME-FITNESS-CAMPAIGN-FOR-FILIPINOS-AMID-PANDEMIC) Balanced Diet DOH & DOST - follow the "Pinggang Pinoy" meal plan (https://www.fnri.dost.gov.ph/index.php/tools-and-standard/pinggang-pinoy/94-pinggang-pinoy/190-pinggang-pinoy) If you can follow these everyday then congrats. If not then I suggest start taking supplements. Just make sure you choose the right brand with high quality and zero toxicity for the body. 1 Quote Link to comment

RED2018
Vitamins are not drugs or miracle cures. Taking large doses of vitamins can be harmful because your body only needs vitamins in very tiny amounts. Eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, wholegrains and cereals will give your body the vitamins it needs, at the right level and in the right balance. Vitamin supplements can’t replace a healthy diet, but a general multivitamin may help if your diet is inadequate. People who may need vitamin supplements include pregnant and breastfeeding women, people who consume alcohol in amounts over the recommended level, drug users and the elderly. Quote Link to comment
