this could mean:

1). you have a very slow connection.

2). you're personal firewall is on (do you have one? Windows XP has its own built-in).

3). P2P is blocked and not allowed on your ISP or network.

try reinstalling the software and see if that works.

im practically a dummy for these things sir, could you lay it out for me the instructions as to how to do this?

click Start -> go to Run -> type CMD

On CMD (black window) type "ipconfig /renew" (without the quotes).

See if that works.

usually it only renews your internal IP address which will not work with Rapidshare. You need to be able to renew your external IP address which is the one that Rapidshare "sees".

I think there is a free software that does this and re assigns a new external IP address for you to be able to download using Rapidshare...

Dude, malamang sa Bayantel talaga problem mo. Try to look at your modem. Depende kasi sa model ng modem yung indicator light. Try to look for the light with the tag that sez "Internet". Observe how it behaves while the internet is active and observe what it does when its messed up.

Yun namang sa problema mo sa Craching ng PC mo, that means you'll have to undergo maintenance. Some cases are fixed with a few tweaks, some, re-installation of OS.

Pero kung nasa four to six years na PC mo, you might have to change Hard Drives. But that's a rarity. Hehehe.

before you have to do this, make sure that your IP configurations (network connections/tcpip) is on automatic mode.

do this procedures after you have checked that it is in auto mode:

a) START-RUN

B) type CMD

c) type ipconfig /release

d) type ipconfig /renew

this should work.

that's what you did...you renew ur IP address. if he meant the service then click start -> run -> type "services.msc" (without the quotes)...and on the services window...go to DHCP client...right click then select "restart"...not that it will do you good though...read my previous post about renewing the IP address...
