Anyway 2005 is a terrible year. it cannot get any worse<{POST_SNAPBACK}> buy philex mining corporation stock.. even if the mines do not operate, the gold they own appreciates in value.. philex is an excellent buy.. its part of the phisix also.. good cashflow.. lots of mines operating.. metals right now are in all time high.. so mining stocks are the best.. wolflove_bigdawg
How long do you usually keep the stocks you buy? Is there a definite figure that makes you say "SELL"!!!!? I read somewhere to sell after the stock has risen 20% or fell 5-8%. Pero as far as I can tell, tagal umakyat pero bilis bumaba ng values eh. Does it mean I'm in for a long term sa mga binili ko? Also dati a stock I bought rose mga P800 overnight. Someone told me I should have sold (he was right - partly). Anyway just want to hear your opinion on that. Thanks buy philex mining corporation stock.. even if the mines do not operate, the gold they own appreciates in value.. philex is an excellent buy.. its part of the phisix also.. good cashflow.. lots of mines operating.. metals right now are in all time high.. so mining stocks are the best..<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Quote Link to comment

Thanks<{POST_SNAPBACK}> answer is, "no one will know", if anyone knows, then that person will be super rich.. hehehe.. :thumbsupsmiley: stock market is surrounded by fear and greed, you just have to learn market psychology (and reverse psychology).. and be always ahead of the pack (thats technical analysis).. the only thing you can do is minimize your risk by selling when the stock turns the other way around (again technical analysis).. technical analysis is a broad subject but the simplest is by studying the 10 day moving average.. that is.. adding the last 10 day's prices and then dividing by 10 is called 10-day MA.... if the stock price goes above the 10 day MA.. its a buy signal..if it hovers above the 10 day then suddenly drops below the 10 day MA.. then its a sell signal.. there is also a weighted MA.. where the last day trade has higher weight than the previous.. also, you may try to study the previous day's closing price and highest price.. if closing price = highest price.. then expect the next day that the stock will rise.. another term for this is candlestick charts.. these are just guidelines.. but usually it takes more than 1 year of losing money before you will ever learn how the market works.. sobrang dami..di pa kasama dito yung fundamental analysis..where you study the management's credibility and credentials, intangible assets like brand names where SM seems to have a better brand name than Robinsons.. financial earnings, Price to earnings ratio (the lower the better) , earnings per share (the higher the better).. Price Earnings Growth (a positive PEG is a winner) .. and so on and so one..whew! you need to love numbers when you play stocks.. otherwise you are better off betting your money on the casino.. remember in stock trading its between you and other traders/brokers competing.. sell the stock when it rises 20%? PLDT has risen more than 20% for the previous year, and is still rising.. it has risen more than 20% for 2 years ago and still rising after a year.. buy when the stock drops 5-8%? ABS-CBN dropped more than 10% last year.. and still dropped another 10%.. and now ABS-CBN is a dead, inactive stock with no trades... ipit ang pera mo dyan kung bumili ka nyan (its like buying a falling knife).. if a stock is falling..there is a reason.. i was there.. done this, done that, believe this, believe that.. and i learned.. magnus
Ok, I think I got that. But for practical purposes, all things equal, is having a...let us say P500 profit good enough to sell? civilcode
i would suggest, avoid IPO - initial public offer, usually we do not know kung ano magiging lagay nun company. We dont have any idea, about the company, you are like person buying something that you even know. there are many good company out there, thy to find one Quote Link to comment
THUG
yep, buy IPO only if you could buy shares that is owned by the employees of the IPO company.. that way you buy it cheap.. otherwise yayaman dyan yung mga internal shareholders ng company kase biglang taas yung share nila.. ikaw naman si tanga binili mo.. yun namang mga empleyado ng IPO bentahan ka.. tuwang tuwa mga employee shareholders nyan.. di lahat ng IPO tumaas, Semirara Mining biglang bagsak yan after IPO.. more than half binaba.. mali pala yung appreciation dun sa IPO share price.. sobrang taas....
