greetings, GM-doctor-masters of MTC.

 

my question has to do with circumcision.

i went through another thread but its focus was the necessity of the procedure.

my query is a bit more technical.

 

 

 

i just had my son circumcised. he's 13 years old and the doctor who performed it

is a pathologist acquaintance of mine. it was only after the operation that he explained

the details.

 

he said he did a dorsal slit, which is what they did during their medical missions.

i did some research on Wikipedia and found that it made the shaft quite unsightly

even when erect due to the 'lambi.'

my question is: once my boy has healed, can i have the operation re-done

as a 'german cut?'

Yep. You sure can, but why? Dorsal slit is just fine as stated by Dr. Tolentino. Look it it from your son's point of view, is it worth the additional anxiety of minor surgery (major to kids!) when there's no real perceived advantage except aesthetically?

i think you should bring the results of your uric acid to a creditable Internist. starting medications would depend on your lifestyle and diet. just because it's high does mean you need to start meds immediately.....

Just recently, a therapist advised her to take black tea every morning saying it can restore her kidney and lower her creatinine. Also, she was advised to take prunes since it can increase the hemoglobin in her blood.

 

After following the therapist's advise for 3 days now, my mom told me that she thinks she's feeling better. She can now sleep well during the night as might be the result of an increase in hemoglobin.

 

Sabi nya rin na after nya uminom ng black tea, dumidighay sya madalas at may isinusuka sya na color yellow.

 

Please tell me if eating prunes and taking black tea can really help her.

Prunes are often given for their laxative properties and for their fiber. it has never been use to increase hemoglobin. there are no studies on this.

 

black tea on the other hand, has been shown to increase blood flow, boost mental alertness (due to caffeine and the amino acid L-theanine). it has also been studied as to its effect in boosting the body's immunity, and its own antibiotic properties (although this is very slight). also, and more important in your mother's case, black tea has also been studied as an anti-depressant.

 

End Stage Renal Disease means that the kidneys have suffered irreparable damage. please bear in mind that, among all the human organs, only the liver has the capacity to regenerate itself (self-repair), and only in a limited extent. although tea in itself is a diuretic (stimulates urine production), the kidney damage may be too far gone.

 

this does not mean that you should stop your mom from taking tea. on the contrary, if it helps her feel better, you should give it. at this stage in her life, you have to aim for giving her better life quality. if it makes her feel good, then do it.

good morning. just want to ask kung saan po ok magpa semen analysis? most of laboratories na natanungan ko, sa common cr lang daw nagpapacollect ng semen. meron po ba yung cubicle na may materials na pwede gamitin? if so, saan po kaya? thanks!

advice naman po or suggestion mga doc kung anung gagawin ko sa prolem ako, last week (after having a sex with a pimp) i feel na nangangati ang tubo ng daanan ng ihi ko (sa uthera, halos malapit sa ulo) so when i Jelqing para mawala ang kati, me lumalaas na dugo (also the sperm na lumalabas sakin is technically me kulay dugo).nagpa urinalysis na ko kaso wala namang nakita. Also (di ko lang alam kung normal to) when pinipiga ko sya dun sa bandang dulo sa ilalim (sa penile at malapit sa frenulum of prepuce), di ko alam kung bakit me bukol sa tubo.

 

Is this curable at anu alam nyo na gamot dito (if ever na std) at magkano kaya?

mga doc inquire ko lang about L-Carnitine supplement, i've just read about L-carnitine ( info about L-C, effects, side effects and pros and cons) inquire ko lang sa mga specialista dyan na ok ba i take ang L-carnitine suppplements 2 tabs 500/mg a day? or kapag tumatakbo lang ako? nabasa ko kasi na coconvert yung fats mo into extra energy at the same time na buburn yung mga fats

Inquire lang ako ano ba ang possible disease na puwedeng makuha mo sa kagat ng tao? Possible ba matransfer ang rabies in case nakagat siya ng aso? May tinulungan kasi ako na may mental health problem then nakagat ako. Namula ng kaunti iyong kagat sa akin. TIA

if dumugo ang lugar ng kagat, treat as any bite from any animal, i.e. anti-tetanus shot and oral antibiotics. if no blood, clean the site with soap and water. if the person biting you is a rabies suspect, then get anti-rabies also. BTW, you don't need to get bitten to get rabies, just about anything that touches the person's saliva (towel, clothes, cloth, bed linen, even anything he/she coughed or spat on...) could infect you.

also, after 2 weeks of treatment, even an adult becomes non-infective......

there are usually several foot powders and creams/ointments available over the counter in any drugstore or in any department store. you usually need to take it for 2 weeks or more,

 

i would suggest, however, that you see a dermatologist, or even an internist, first. that way, you can be sure that: 1. you really have athlete's foot and not an allergy, and 2. that you are using the right meds for the condition.
