PacMan's Corner

I don't think either fighter will earn as much if they choose to fight other opponents.

Sa panghihinayang pa lang ng mawawala sa kanila, Im sure this will be enough motivation for both camps to meet halfway.

Kaya relax lang tayo.

Wow! masyado atang animated discussion dito ah. sana mabasa din ni pacman to, baka mabigyan tayo balato, hehehe. seriously, if a person can inspire and unite a whole nation, can prevent crime even for one day or make us proud to be filipinos, then he's a hero in my book. Lets face it, Pacman is not perfect, in fact even our heroes have their own faults. what we are saying is that what pacman has achieved is beyond compare and he continues to give us recognition to this day. I guess we are just being overprotective because as of now, he is the face of Filipinos everywhere and any negative impression on him will unfortunately be associated with us.

idol ki si pacman peru abuso na kayabangan nya tutuusin malaki narin kikitahin nya saka parehas champion sila. alam nyu totoo karma matatalu sya sa kaswapangan nya. crab mentallity man o hindi ayoko yabang nya sobr na yan kahit malaki na kikitahin. Usually underdog nananalu i will go for hatton kahit pinoy aku dahil hindi mala pinoy na ugali ka swapangan at yabang nya.

Tapus guys you call this guy a role model or symbol ng pinoy?

Thats the right term.

you started saying na greedy si pacman and unprofessional.... i dont defend pacman pero i just stated FACTS here like dragonei is stating. it is boxing-business nothing personal..no need to say that Greedy and Unprofessional si Pacman..

and that is your opinion... well regarding sa CRAB... siguro alam mo naman ibig kong sabihin... alam mo naman ang meaning ng crab mentality.. and that is my opinion. bakit ko nasabi?

wht not JMM Vs. ODLH? hehehehe.

and now magiging 50-50 na ok na ba sayo?

We all know na may history si PacMan for changing his mind for a greener pasture.

But on the 2nd fight, kahit na Knockdown siya several times on the first rd. its so obvious na panalo si JMM on the latter rd right? so JMM really deserves another chance to finish the business di ba?

kahit sino pang mas malaking cut bsta matuloy lang OK na ako. hehehe bka kasi pag hindi nilabanan ni Manny si Hatton and if he settles for a not that famous opponent lalung hindi bumalik si Mayweather.

@o0onapstero0o,

WOW!!! Professional Boxing is scored by Effective and Powerful Shots, aggressor or KD! not yung pitik pitik lang... baka kasi Amateur lang ang alam mong scoring... Kung amateur boxing yun... yes panalo si JMM pero its not... baka nakalimutan mo kung sino mas damage ang mukha... hehehehe.

Why not ask yourself? if someone offer you sa work na mas mataas ang sweldo and still may work ka, di ka ba lilipat?

sa NBA nangyayari yan under contract pa ang isang player pero pag nag opt out na undercontract dahil di sya masaya at mas mataas offer sa ibang team lumilipat diba?

asan ang GREEDY dun? hayyyzzzz...

ang boxing is not KAWANG GAWA... pero sigurado ko mas maraming natulungan si pacman kesa sa inyo... tapos tatawagin ng iba na Greedy si pacman..

atleast he is earning it sa malinis na paraan...

hindi ku kinahihiya pagiging Pinoy kundi WALA NANG FILIPINO NGAYUN! Thats the right term.

talaga? buti nalang ako hindi ako TXTSPEAK pag nag-ta-type... hehehehehe.

Do you have photos of Pacman playing?

General Santos City – The Trace Laguna Stallions and Ilocos Sur Bravehearts beat their respective foes in contrasting fashions to win the opening games of the Gensan leg of the Smart-Liga Pilipinas Conference II here in the Lagao Gymnasium.

Playing his first game with the Stallions, lottery pick Nigerian Sam Ekwe immediately registered the first double-double performance in the community-based league with 12 points and 17 rebounds to lead Laguna to a convincing 84-73 victory over the Edding Zanorte Babami in Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Ekwe, the former two-time MVP of the NCAA, teamed up with former FEU star Arvie Mangahas in a first quarter blitz as Laguna led Zanorte or formerly the Zamboanga Amores from start to finish.

The Stallions led by as many as 11 points early in the second period as they dominated the boards 47-33. Zanorte tried to keep it close through the efforts of former RP pool candidate Jonathan Pareno and point guard Cris Concepcion as Laguna led 40-30 at the turn.

In the main game, the Ilocos Sur spoiled the basketball debut of Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao as the Bravehearts defeated the MP Gensan Warriors, 63-59, to disappoint a big hometown crowd.

Pacquiao, who started the game for the host team which he himself owns, scored his only basket with a fastbreak layup at the 6:52 mark of the first to give Gensan their first lead at 4-3.Dodong Tadena and Dondon Mendoza led the Warriors to a 27-22 halftime lead behind its tough pressure defense.

Tumpak, I honestly thought the same thing about the 2nd Pacquiao Marquez. Oh don't get me wrong it was a close fight, any fighter could have had it their way.

As I remember it correctly in that Trinidad and Jones Jr. fight, lamang si Trinidad sa dami ng suntok.

Kasi halata naman sa Laban that it was oscar who dominated that fight.

in short Marquez should just stop bitching and take care of business na lang

Manny being the hero. Well do not get me wrong Im proud of every filipino who makes it big out there, and we should be proud of manny. But I am not going to support the move to declare a national holiday yung pag uwi nya. I will not wait under the scorching heat of the sun para lang makawayan siya. And sorry to say this folks I do not believe he can represent all of us filipinos out there. That is a major fallacy.

Hindi lahat ng pilipino ay manny pacquiao, kundi ba why would we end up being where we are? What we are simply doing is that as a nation we are already riding on his coat tail. Did the italian-americans think they were the best because of rocky marciano? Did the mexicans think they were the best because of Julio Cesar Chavez? or the british because of Lennox Lewis?

But please don't take what I said the wrong way. He indeed is an inspiration. The exception but not the rule.

Can somebody tell me who is this FRANKLIN GACAL whom PAPA ROACH describe as bad guy?

This guy doesn't deserved to be on Pacman's team. I just want a good fight, BOB ARUM is the promoter

and Pacman always says its up to my promoter who is my next opponent,i'm just a boxer.

Hey Gacal stay away from the lights.

Well sa akin tama yung principle that Manny should indeed get the bigger cut of the revenue.

I understand manny's position. Kaya nga you hire consultants so they can advice the decisions that you make about the deals you enter. So that they can do the negotiations properly.

Hirap kasi when a boxer is getting bad advices by his entourage.

But lets leave it up to them na lang. I hope in time manny will not hesitate to fire Gacal when he no longer serves his best interest. I mean Manny did fire his old promoter nung dinehado din siya sa hatian.

Ngayon if Gacal will advise Manny na magmatigas sa 60-40 or hanap sila ng ibang makakalaban, sana nga meron silang mahanap na kasing lucrative din. good if mayweather will decide to come out of retirement and fight him.

Pac-man falls into the Oscar trap

Beating Oscar De La Hoya will do wonders for a fighter’s career, but there often is a malaise that comes with a victory over the Golden Boy.

De La Hoya has long been boxing’s most popular fighter and biggest attraction. Yet Felix Trinidad didn’t usurp him after his controversial 1999 win over De La Hoya in a battle between then unbeaten welterweight champions.

Nor did Shane Mosley, who defeated De La Hoya twice.

And one can almost guarantee that neither will Manny Pacquiao.

That hasn’t stopped any of those men, though, from believing they’d inherited De La Hoya’s mantle as boxing’s biggest seller and making financial demands to boot.

Pacquiao, whose dominant effort in an eighth-round stoppage of De La Hoya on May 6 made him a unanimous pick as the No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world in the Yahoo! Sports rankings, is the latest to fall victim to it.

Promoters Bob Arum of Top Rank and Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy had all but wrapped up a scintillating bout between Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton for May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

But Pacquiao, who is in the Philippines and hasn’t spoken to Arum, has begun to make noises about not taking the fight unless the purse split is made greater in his favor.

Arum and Schaefer worked a 50-50 purse split, a reasonable deal given the huge money Hatton brings to the table from British television.

But Pacquiao suddenly began saying he wouldn’t take the fight without at least a 60-40 edge in his favor.

Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, was in an ornery mood on Thursday and not of a mind to speak much about Pacquiao’s reasoning.

He reasons – and probably correctly so – that Pacquiao will ultimately realize he’s making a mistake and agree to the lucrative deal that was offered.

It’s not as if Hatton has no other options, however, so there is some urgency for Arum to get Pacquiao’s signature on a contract.

“I don’t know what the hell is going on with him, but it will get done, I guarantee you,” Arum said. “The only way it gets aborted is if Hatton gets tired of waiting and takes another deal.”

Trinidad blew an eight-figure payday in 2000 when he declined to accept a rematch over his insistence that the deal terms be flipped from the first fight. Their 1999 fight set what was then a record for pay-per-view sales for a non-heavyweight bout, hitting 1.4 million, a figure that wasn’t surpassed until 2007, when De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather sold 2.4 million for their super welterweight bout.

Mosley made a similar miscalculation when he turned down a third fight with De La Hoya.

Pacquiao only need to look at those two men and the extraordinary amounts of money they let slither through their fingers because they reasoned that a win over De La Hoya made them as popular and big of an attraction as the Golden Boy.

Pacquiao is one of the sport’s most popular fighters, but despite the one-sided victory he scored, he’s still not De La Hoya.

The quicker he realizes that, the better it will be for boxing and, more importantly, his bottom line.

I think we are having a communication gap here. It is just me stating my opinion about Manny being treated as a hero. Wala naman akong intention to judge your character or malign it.

Ang sinasabi ko, every filipino must have a national identity he can be proud of hindi yung iniaasa nya identity nya sa iba.

"Yes I know him, he is a great boxer and we are very proud of him." Pero hindi ng "Yes I know him, and I am proud myself because of him".

I have a lot of respect for pacquiao, the only time I lost it was nung sumasaw siya sa kabulukan ng pulitika. But I do not doubt that this man is a great filipino, but filipinos are not great just because he is. He deserves all the credit he gets. and yes I do also think na mas malaki dapat hatian nila sa laban na ito.

I just sometimes don't trust the people giving him advices, especially the people who advice him to enter politics.

Oh well wait and see tayo

Well Manny and his kids should be set for life sa laki ng mga kinita ngay sa mga laban nya at sa dami ng endorsements nya.

When he retires wala na siya kelangan patunayan pa on and off the ring at least. In the mean time that he is at his prime, these are the following that he should never consider doing

1.) Gawing regular ang pagsusugal.

Bangka lang ang siguradong panalo sa sugal. Kahit pa bilyones pera nya mauubos at mauubos din pera nya.

2.) Enter politics before he retires

3.) Fire Freddie Roach and Bubuy Fernandez as his trainers

He made history by being the youngest heavyweight champion, he also made history by created the biggest upset in boxing history when he lost to buster douglas.

Have you seen the size of this guy? He is so big he eats 3 kilos of meat a day. No wonder nasa 50-1 record nya

Link to comment

tama si manny there is no such thing as 50-50 on everything . never mangyari yun. kaya nga never mangyari ang fight na 50-50 share.
