Do they have a local site where we can check out its feature ? Seems to be a big jump in the price if the difference is just one airbag in the passenger side between the V and the S.

here's the diff betweent the V & the S

passenger's airbag

abs

ebd + brake assist

fog lamps

top bar of the radiator grill is colored

2-tone fabric seats

6-speaker system

steering-wheel audio controls

i think that the 60K diff is well worth it (the additional airbag, abs & ebd alone is worth paying for that).

sorry for the typo. I meant 2.0.  I finally got it and very satisfied with it. It is less roomy than accord but overall it is a great car.

congratulation that you got the mazda 323. 2.0l. What is the max speed of this car

I have a honda civic 2.0. I would have got the madza 2.0 if it didnt come it so late.

I was wondering which is a better car.

Sorry Loul,

My Honda 2.0 i-Vtec is running on double overhead cam. As a matter of

fact two stickers are placed on two side of the side door of the Honda 2.0.

And they read. i-vtec DOHC. Well actually double overhead cam is the

in thing of our day already. Even when I have the Nissan Sentra almost 10

years ago, it is already double overhead cam. You can feel the smoothness

of the engine.

Are you trying to tell me that besides the 2.0 i-vtec honda civc. all the rest

of the civic like the 1.6 are running on single overhead cam. I need to find

out first. I am surprised if it is true because most car should be on DOHC

with todays fast changing technology and with fierce competition

my bad i forgot about the Vtecs or 2.0L engines run on DOHC but most and normal civic models run on SOHC just like the Lancers only SOHC....its cheaper to build than a DOHC engine, its like adding four disc brakes thats why companies run rear brakes on drums coz cheaper. I'm not sure in Philippines what model of civics their running but in australia glxi civics run on SOHC and the new hatch civics are on SOHC too but the higher range Vtec run the DOHC.

an owner's view of a mazda3 1.6L S:

PROS

head turning looks

sporty interior (putting on seat covers would be a no-no)

amber illuminated displays

6CD in dash player

6 cupholders (2 near the handbrake, 1 on each door pocket)

"lockable" glove box (lots of space!)

keyless entry (no alarm)

immobilizer (can't duplicate the keys coz of a chip inside that gives them access to the car)

generous trunk space (rear seats can be folded down for additional space)

aircon-heater

ample leg room for rear passengers (will depend on how the driver likes to arrange his seat)

2way steering wheel adjust (up/down, telescopic)

3way driver seat adjust

24hr roadside assistance anywhere in the country (this remains to be seen)

radio/CD controls on the steering wheel (next track/station, volume, mute, mode)

driver side airbag

alarms for leaving the keys or headlights on

4way speakers (1 on each door)

activematic transmission (though i seldom use it)

the "new car smell" lasted for 4 months (i was driving it daily)

CONS

split second delay when flooring the gas pedal

only 105 hp

a bit underpowered (probably compounded by its weight, heaviest in its class)

stiff suspension (not for pregnant women)

no abs

no passenger side airbag

donut for a spare tire

weak aircon blower (at the 38degrees & up, you need to set it at 2 to feel it)

7-8km/liter on city driving

CD player not mp3 compatible (plus the sound it makes when changing CDs, you'd think the there was something wrong with it)

no rear backing sensor (if you have one installed, it'll void the warranty. even if you have the dealer install it!)

expensive accessories

wimpy tailpipe

only floor mats as freebies

car manual says on unleaded gasoline can be used

overall, i love it despite the downsides.
