Call Center Side Effects

pareng chipmaker mas may pressure operations manager.ako nga team leader.bihira na akong umuwi sa bahay ko.pero rewards malaki suweldo

Just put i his way chipmaker, with the amount of money they pay you, it was as if hey have bought your time.

How I approach it is that I make it a point not to stay longer than I have too. I may sometimes stay for 12-15 hours a day but I'd take 3 days off after that. The beauty of a management position is that your main function is be answerble to everything that your client and the big boss asks about your ops.

It can take long hours or maybe not but if you can go home and be confident that you are on top of everything, then I dont see any reason why you should extend that long. Same goes for TLs like tantantinin....just my 2 cents :headsetsmiley:

what's there to envy? hmm....

we have a rather easy job that pays well

we are able to help customers

we can buy our own stuff

we can party anytime we want

we get to surf the net

we're always in an airconditioned environment

we don't feel "useless"

we earn as much as or more than a normal breadwinner

"girls" ....can't get any better than this? :upside:

*With the current state of our economy...we're just thankful that us "human answering machines" have a good paying moral job.

also i think you've been misinformed, not everyone who works in a call center takes calls. research on the meaning of this.......

*team leader

*I.D coordinator

*facilities manager

*quality evaluator/assurance

*I.T

*etc.........

I'm in my early 20's and i can buy whatever I want, save up for those expensive stuffs & what's my position? I'm just a level 2 product specialist who gets around 4 calls maximum in 1 day & gets to surf the internet 80% of my stay in the office............ and what is my target now? to be like nine"

mind me asking? what do you do for a living? <_<

Well said, but I think these guys have nothing againsts call centers, its common for people to criticize what they dont understand.

For those who are thinking of backing down on their applications, you may want to rethink that again. Because I dont see any way how you can get big rewards without making BIG sacrifices.

The one thing I agree with this industry is that people here get what they deserve (compensation-wise) for the work that they bring in. You think other industries compensate you well for the s**t you will get?

well? siguro nga normal lang yun, medyo naging attitude ko nga rin yan dati eh? but when i entered the industry naintindihan ko na no matter what your job is, as long as it makes you feel useful & you enjoy it...that's what matters..... ;)

nine" -la yun, with our current economic situation... head of the families are even willing to settle for the minimum wage & a little more than that is much blessings for them already. a lot of 30-40's people would surely want to be in your shoes...... as for me? contented nmn ako sa ngaun since i'm only 24 & future is bright khet aUx PeTiKs lagi!!! question lang what are the benifits ng call center employee? may future ba yan in the sense na aangat ka?

It's up to the person on creating his "future" just like what xcholox has pointed out.

It's how someone carreer path's oneself that matters not the industry.

On the other hand, it's also good that a lot of people are hesistant in trying out working for a call center, this means less competition for those who are already in this line of business hehe..

actually kahit anong field if you're motivated eh aangat ka talaga. as for your question naman eh OM's. Team Leaders, facility managers, Directors are enough proof since most of them started out also as "human answering machine or agents" ;) i mean their ages usually ranges form 24-50 years old so i think they we're able to accomplish something & me pinatunguhan sila ayt? but also meron din na hindi umaangat & it's because they simply refuse to or stubborn lang tlga sila........ If you ask me I'll say yes! Outsourcing business is big savings for big US companies. And it only makes sense for them to continue doing so as competition gets stiffer.

Aangat ba ako, I would say yes too, I'm as old as some fresh grads out there but I have almost 100 people under me. The best thing about Call Center promotions is that its very quantified, you get promoted based on your numbers (performance) not someones decision, so in essence you do control your fate.
