2) Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Mysteries

3) Bobbsey Twins

4) Enid Blyton's (spell-check nga) Secret Seven

5) literary classics in comics format

I pretty much agree with 1-4, but I never liked the comic book versions of lit classics. I also liked:

5) dr. seuss books

6) the little house series - ALL of them

7) little women, little men and jo's boys

8) the babysitter's club series (i have no idea why, though!)

9) sweet valley twins (a LOT more than sweet valley high)

10) the little prince (which is STILL my favorite book!)

btw, you spelled "enid blyton" correctly. :thumbsupsmiley:

there was this set of books with 10 volumes all on children stories.. vol 1 was on nursery rhymes .. succeeding volumes were apt for older kids.. i really cherished that set.

and of course , The Little Prince, which i found out in my puberty years was really for more matured readers

In no particular order:

1. Judy Blume's Fudge books (excellent reads for preteeners)

2. ALL of Roald Dahl's work, including poetry and short stories (pure imagination)

3. Dr. Seuss ('nuff said)

4. The Great Brain series by John Fitzgerald (Tom's antics could very well lead him to become president someday)

These authors put JK Rowling to shame!
