Avoid wearing double condom. Two condoms will increase friction, increasing the chance of the condom tearing up.

If you notice anything weird, whether it be warts, white stains, blood, red patches, or lumps on your penis, it's highly likely that it's STD, Consult your doctor asap and get the necessary treatments.

You can simply imagine how condoms can significantly lessen the chances of you getting STD. The entire shaft of your penis is protected with latex rubber, leaving no chance for vaginal fluid to come in contact with your shaft. Had it not been effective, nagkalat na siguro ang STD beyond our imagination.

Common ang HIV sa mga homosexuals kasi wala silang reason gumamit ng condom, hindi naman sila nabubuntis. Nakakalimutan nila pang prevent din ng STD ang condom. Kaya common sa kanila ang HIV. Male to male anal sex is also the "riskiest" deed since its easy to get a wound in the anus, and the male fluids are more infectious.

Wear a condom during both ORAL , ANAL, VAGINAL intercourse and do NOT eat tahong.

Mahirap na kapag nagkaroon kna ng sakit, prevention is better than cure

I read a quote from a renowned HIV doctor

"Assessing HIV risk is very simple, as long as their is no UNPROTECTED PENIS inside a VAGINA or a RECTUM, there's no HIV"

Just wanted to share it :)

Kung pwede lang, this thread should be linked with the MP forums, para maremind ang mga MP goers to play it safe, if not avoid it at all.

Sobrang hassle laging maparanoid at magpatest. Iisa isahin mo talaga lahat ng STDs and you will cross examine each and everyone with yourself. It's not like fever to na one week lang lalabas na. No this can go on for months. If you have gone through this anxiety, I doubt you'll go to another MP ever again.

This anxiety is even more fueled by queries, cases and advices found on the internet. Studies have shown that people always look for the worst case scenario even though most of the cases they have read posed little or no risk at all.

What is important is we give accurate facts as not to give unnecessary worry. Risk is a very broad term. You still have to classify it under high moderate low or very low risk.

Docs,

How often should I have a regular scheduled exam?

If you are highly active, every 3-4 months. Tests are a small price to pay to ensure you get the proper treatment as early as possible.

TYVM sir. I've always been the maarte and maselan, OCD type of guy.And I was never a real horndog. I never imagined I'd be a semi regular visitor of MPs, kahit nyan lang 1 or 2 years ago. The whole MP culture kind of freaked me out.

Pero once you've tried it out one time, medyo nade-desensitise ka (not sure if that's the right word) pero nakaka takot pa rin talaga kahit sobrang vanilla lang at maingat ang action.

Safe sex, as little bare skin contact/exchange of bodily fluids as possible.

I'm lucky I'm still OK, the last time I got tested, March 2011.

I promise to stop na. 1 last time na lang, to say goodbye sa regular ko.

Thanks.

hello may itatanong lang ako.. medyo kasi weird eh.. kast friday may 20 2011. nung pumunta ako sa CR para umihi nanotice ko meron discharge na lumalakas sa penis ko. konti lang naman. inamoy ko hindi siya mabaho at walang pain nung umihi ako.. nag observe ako hangang gabi. wala ng lumabas up to now. and i feel healthy naman.

ang last sex ko eh nung nov 20 2010 pa. i used condom naman but i lick her pussy. i asked the girl kung clean siya. clean naman daw siya.. She is my friend. so im sure na clean talaga siya..

after we had sex.. wala naman singaw o sugat sa mouth ko kasi nga DATY ko siya..

pacheck ka na lang for gonorrhea, chlamydia pre. Easily treatable naman yan through antibiotics

di ba and gonorrhea and chlamydia after sex 3 days lumalabas agad yung mga sintomas?

ah ganun po ba.. as of now normal na ulit wala na lumalabas eh.. once lang tlga nangyari un last week lang. need ko pa ba magpa check? kung sakali man any idea kung magkano mag pa check up?

^not necessarily within 3 days. Symptoms can appear anytime within the day of exposure up to months. They can also suddenly disappear, but that doesnt mean that you're cured.

Testing is but a small price to maintain good health. Pag may gonorhea ka tapos hindi mo natest, after a few years it can lead to more severe complications na pagsisisihan mo you didnt test before.

As for the test price I don't know. Drop by the Manila Social Hygiene Clinic beside San Lazaro Hospital. They're open Mondays to Thursday 8am-4pm :)

^Consult with the doctor first before undergoing testing. May resident doctors ang MSHC that can help you. If not, consult with a doctor first in any reputable hospital in Metro Manila.

any sexually active person regardless of whether you use a condom or not is advised to undergo regular STD/HIV checking every 6 months, unless you practice abstinence or is in a monogamous relationship already.

On another note, walang testing for men with regards to HPV (genital warts) and HSV (herpes). Visual examination lang talaga siya ng doctor.

Recommended testing for men:

HIV (regular)

Syphilis (regular)

Hepatitis B (regular)

Gonnorhea and Chlamydia (only when there are symptoms)

I am not sure with Gonnorhea & Chlamydia but the other three are all available at the Manila Social Hygiene Clinic beside SM San Lazaro.

HIV and Syphilis are free of charge while Hepa B costs 100 pesos.

I personally recommend testing at 6th week post exposure and 12th week post exposure.

Blood counts are usually, with little variations reported like this:

WBC

RBC

Hb

Hct

MCH

MCV

MCHC

RDW

Platelets

Differential

Segs

Bands

Lymphocytes

Monocytes

Basophils

Eosinohils

We don't usually request absolute lymphocyte counts, so the lymphocyte count reported is only a percentage of the number of white cells seen in the microscope. So 11 means 11% of cells seen are lymphocytes. Absolute lymphocyte count can instead be calculated if that's what you are interested to know.

So to answer your question, wala kang HIV as far as these test are concerned, this test is not designed to detect if you have HIV or not, go have an HIV ELISA done if you have risk factors for HIV, and if positive they will automatically do a confirmatory test, usually Western Blot, if that is positive, may HIV ka.

so sir ,this means my 17 low count doesnt mean anything?

my lymphocyte counte from last last month was 35 then it became 20 last month then 17 this month

the bracket was 22>40

also i checked the net ,the decrease in lymphocyte means an infection or HIV....is there any other reason why there might be a sudden drop in my count...thanks

Lots of things can cause lymphocyte counts to decrease not necessarily infection, the differential is verrrryyyy lonnnggggg. Hematologic, rheumatologic, lab error, metabolic diseases, neoplastic, infections, if you are worried about HIV, get tested for it.

are you a doctor sir? who specializes in such cases?

anyway so from the details i told you..it means the decrease in my lymphocytic count to 17 which is below normal doesnt guarantee that im hiv positive..am i correct?

where can i have an HIV test? and where,...i live in makati area

is there any free hiv testing facilities?

also can we but HIV testing kits in mercury drugs...cause in the states theres one available ...i saw it on the net\

please answer all..thanks

PM kita, just check it out.

are you sure? i dont get you message...how can you say that i dont have...please elaborate..thank you

i read something in the net ...quote :

A low normal to low absolute lymphocyte concentration is associated with increased rates of infection after surgery or trauma.

One basis for low T cell lymphocytes occurs when the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infects and destroys T cells (specifically, the CD4+ subgroup of T lymphocytes). Without the key defense that these T cells provide, the body becomes susceptible to opportunistic infections that otherwise would not affect healthy people. The extent of HIV progression is typically determined by measuring the percentage of CD4+ T cells in the patient's blood. The effects of other viruses or lymphocyte disorders can also often be estimated by counting the numbers of lymphocytes present in the blood.

it states here that the reason of decrease in lymphocyte cells is the cause of HIV

No you can not buy HIV testing kits from mercury drugstore or any drug store for that matter. Also not all medical laboratory centers offer the test...there are only some laboratory accredited by the department of health to do the testing. do not worry. everything is confidential and lab personnel are trained to be discreet. if you turn out to be positive have your test confirmed by the confirmatory testing in san lazaro hospital

I just had my blood test and my Lymphocyte count was only 17...the average reference is 22-40 ..im worried because of what i read in the net...am I HIV positive?

First thing to ask is if you have had a valid exposure in the past. If you never had unprotected vaginal and anal sex, its impossible for you to have gotten HIV.

Second in the existence of previous unprotected sex, the only way to determine if you have HIV is through an HIV test.

HIV is difficult to transmit from woman to man but highly possible, hence HIV positive people are predominantly homosexuals.

why is it difficult to transmit HIV from woman to man ? are there any medical proof or study pertaining to these. Just curious... TIA !

if you tested positive, you have two options, one enroll yourself in the HIV registry of the department of health, there you will be counseled on what to do and i believe will give you antiretroviral therapy (hiv treastment) and i think for free. the second option is for you to consult with a private doctor, infectous disease specialist who will tell you what to do. either way the department of health still need your information
