xwhiteshadowz Posted October 15, 2008 Share Posted October 15, 2008 @wizard - in addition to maam mwah stated..yes the hospitals are screening the blood for possible infections..but as for the blood donation itself..depending on the capabilities of the hospital..the testing of the blood may be delayed..the initial testing done to you is basically to know if your blood is good for donation e.g. hemoglobin hematocrit as for which there are available dipstick methods to test for hepatitis b.. as for the in depth testing which requires machines for serological testing ..for hiv and for treponema/syphilis. your donated blood is also tested for malaria in thick and thin smears.. if ever your donated blood will be positive to any of those tests..you will be informed by the contact number you gave..thats for your safety...to get tested more, evaluated and treated...most of the labs in major hospitals have newer facilities to do testings that results will be known in less than a day..depending on the bulk of the workload...hth @ex-bitager - also in addition to sir gift of game stated...yes it permethrin possibly...which is available locally.. in the us they also use malathion less common than perme..the treatment for the pubic lice/crabs will include treating the area and also the garments or undies..the nits tend to stick to the graments even after washing...so another thing guys and girls to be aware of...pubic lice and crabs hehehe.... sad to say that its possible to get it just by single contact..and the itchiness will be unbearable as for one patient stated before... hehehe hth @gift of game - why not trust your opinion? you earned your diploma hardly and i bet you are careful in giving advises here...seniors will be more glad to correct such statements..and those asking advices here will also consult their favorite doctors...so keep it up sir... I expect na kahit tapos nko eh metal hard pa rin. Worst thing is, it gave me too much headache kinabukasan, and the ache lasted for almost 2 days. Hehe sa ibang ulo yata pumunta ang dugo in my case. I dont know if what i had taken was a fake. It was only given to me by my Japanese malibog old friend who happens to be coming back to nippon and dun wan to be caught by his wife...hehehe.
