Why Should I Care?
Diana Krall
Was there something more I could have done?
Or was I not meant to be the one?
Where's the life I thought we would share?
And should I care?
And will someone else get more of you?
Will she go to sleep more sure of you?
Will she wake up knowing you're still there?
And why should I care?
There's always one to turn and walk away
And one who just wants to stay
But who said that love is always fair?
And why should I care?
Should I leave you alone here in the dark?
Holding my broken heart
While a promise still hangs in the air
Why should I care?

Happy! I'm getting my groove back.

Beer (Light, Strong Ice, or Red Horse) and sizzing steak with mushroom gravy at our new gimmick place. Mmm...

If I have enough time, hang out with my friends, watch a movie, go on a roadtrip with my camera, or hang out on the beach.

Lightheaded from lack of sleep. :online2long:

Venti Peppermint Mocha (the only thing I like in Starbucks), cheesecake, and a sappy movie.

actually pinanood ko rin siya after making that post. i also searched the net for reviews of the movie since nauna na siya ipalabas sa ibang bansa because of the MMFF. from what i read medyo negative nga ang reviews. most critics were comparing it to star wars. one even went as fas as saying that eragon took all of sci-fi clichés and put them in one movie. i said to myself "it can't be that bad?" and since i liked the book so much, i went ahead and watched it with a couple of friends.
sad to say, the reviews were right. nakakapanghinayang kasi the book had so much potential to become a great movie and it all went to waste. parang masyadong minadali yung movie, i don't know why. parang halfway through hindi mo alam kung wala nang budget or nagsawa na lang yung direktor. there were several oooohhh moments but they just leave you hanging. even the music sucked. there was not enough character development. wala. sayang talaga. should've watched blood diamond instead. :thumbsdownsmiley:
I hadn't read the book when I saw this -- still haven't, btw -- but I got the impression that this movie was made simply to cash in on the book's popularity as well as the tail end of the LOTR fantasy phenomenon; it had the feel of the first three Harry Potter movies, I thought. No character development, bad editing, slow plot development, and a host of other things that I can't seem to recall at the moment. I was squirming in my seat and trying to stay awake before the movie was even halfway done! It seems like such a waste, considering that I heard so many good things about the book.
The lead actor was really easy on the eyes, though, so at least I had something to look at while I was sitting in the theater. The one scene that really got my attention, though, was the one where Jeremy Irons was __________________. Now there's a guy who can flesh out even a role as insubstantial as this turned out to be. Couldn't help wishing that he was the one playing the lead instead, or someone with his acting chops, at least. Oh, well.

Loving you means fighting a losing battle with my head. My heart refuses to make things easy for me. I wish things could be different, but I guess that's just asking too much, huh?
I guess this really is goodbye. Take care, you.

Didn't We?
King's Singers Version
This time we almost made the pieces fit,
Didn't we, girl?
This time we almost made some sense of it,
Didn't we?
Didn't we, girl?
And this time I held the answer
Right here in my hand,
Then I touched it,
And it had turned to sand.
This time we almost sang our song in tune,
Didn't we, girl?
This time we almost made it to the moon,
Oh, didn't we? Didn't we, girl?
And this time, we almost -- almost! -- made our poem rhyme.
And this time we almost made the long hard climb.
Didn't we almost make it this time?
We almost made it this time, didn't we, girl?

VERTICAL HORIZON
"Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning)"
So you sailed away
Into a grey sky morning
Now I'm here to stay
Love can be so boring
Nothing's quite the same now
I just say your name now
[Chorus]
But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
You don't want me back
You're just the best I ever had
So you stole my world
Now I'm just a phony
Remembering the girl
Leaves me down and lonely
Send it in a letter
Make yourself feel better
[Chorus]
But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
You don't need me back
You're just the best I ever had
And it may take some time to
Patch me up inside
But I can't take it so I
Run away and hide
And I may find in time that
You were always right
You're always right
So you sailed away
Into a grey sky morning
Now I'm here to stay
Love can be so boring
What was it you wanted
Could it be I'm haunted
[Chorus]
But it's not so bad
You're only the best I ever had
I don't want you back
You're just the best I ever had
The best I ever had
The best I ever

Welcome to the Jungle - GNR
Hehe. My friend's cousins actually used this song at the reception march for the bride and groom. Naki-head bang naman yung dalawa habang naglalakad patungong presidential table.

Hehe. If you want suggestions for wedding singers/ensembles, I can give you a few names.
Good luck!

Hey, good for you! Okay naman ba? Anong lasa?
-
Ack, slight change of plans. I'll be there if my work schedule tonight pushes through, otherwise I'll have to skip this gig yet again. Urgh.
-
Numero Uno:
-
Hey Emogal! I'm about 90% sure that I'm going on the 27th, too. Some friends have been on my back about missing the last gig, so I think I have to put in an appearance this time. Maybe I'll catch you there.
-
It's beside Cheesecake Etc., don_pepot. It's a small outlet, so it's pretty easy to miss.

absolutely! delifrance has a kopi-bun wannabe, but it just pales in comparison.
whenever i pass by morato during daytime, i make it a point to pass by kopi roti. (even better after a massage at adjacent sunyare.)
trivia: the milk in their coffee is not local, but imported from sg. they said they tried using local evap milk, but the flavor is just not the same.
Hmm, maybe the milk is the reason why their coffee is so addictive. I had about three or four cups of the stuff on Sunday alone.
It's a good thing, though, that work will be taking me to the Morato area pretty often over the holidays. I won't have to travel very far to get my Kopi Roti fix.
P.S. -- Found a copycat recipe for Kopi Buns on the internet. I think I'll try my hand at making it when my schedule clears up.
Musta? How Are You Today? Happy? Sad? etc.
