  1. Classic pa rin yung Wolfenstein 3D hahahaha.... played all 5 missions doon

    After that I played Doom/Doom 2

And then Heretic and Hexen (Modem Game pa lang nun 1-on-1 kayo)

    Then came Quake....

And then Half life and its "children" (like Counterstrike)

    Then came Unreal....

Dami ko na rin pala nalaro ah

  2. like what SG said panalo pa rin naman...

kaso they were up by as much as 27... but only won by 4...

surprising bec everyone thought that air21 wld win...

inaayos kasi nila yung match-up na for the semis...

I think seeded number 1 pa rin ang GSM, due to the quotient even though both teams were tied at 13 wins and 5 losses

  3. Guys this isn't the thread for alex cabagnot.... I think there is a separate thread for him in this forum....

Mods: Request to move non San Miguel Related Content (such as about the life and times of alex cabagnot ) to the corresponding thread

    Thanks :)

  4. Kahit no bearing... panalo pa rin :D

Lordy Tugade scored 19 points off the bench to lead San Miguel Beer’s balanced scoring which propelled the Beermen to a 108-104 decision over the Air 21 Express on Christmas night before a record crowd of 17,779 at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Beermen have already secured their place in the semifinals of the Talk ‘N Text-PBA Philippine Cup but their performance against the Express appeared as if they were fighting for survival.

The Beermen dominated the game throughout but had to dig deep to overcome scary moments down the stretch when Air21 made a desperate run.

The Express appeared down and out when they fell behind by 27 points late in the second quarter. But they hung tough and nearly turned the game around with their determination.

“We stop playing after the first half. We thought it was over. I’ve been telling the boys the game of basketball is a continuous game. It’s not like a switch that you can turn it off and on,” said SMB’s Chot Reyes who won seven straight games for the first time in his career as PBA head coach, after failing in his six previous tries – the first four with Purefoods between 1993 and 1996 and the last two with Coca-Cola in 2003.

“We almost paid the price but we made some big shots down the line,” he added.

San Miguel Beer held an 81-69 lead after three quarter but Air 21 rallied behind hot hands of Gary David before Ranidel de Ocampo made two free throws that pulled the Express within 96-101 with 3:01 left.

The Beermen responded with six straight points that made the count 107-96 and seemed to have put the game away with 1:58 remaining.

But the Express refused to give up.

David, who scored 14 of his career-high 34 points in the fourth quarter, scored on a reverse shot then completed a three-point play and Ranidel de Ocampo drained a 3-pointer that pulled the Air 21 threateningly close at 104-107 with 24 seconds left.

Air21 had a chance to make it a one-point game or even tie the count when Romel Adducul failed on an inbound, getting caught with a five-second violation for a turnover.

But Ranidel de Ocampo, who took charge of Air 21’s crucial play missed on a semi-hook shot with Adducul defending him. The SMB center-forward then went on to redeem himself by grabbing the defensive rebound which all but secured the win.

The loss was Air21’s 11th against seven wins which the Express will carryover into the single round wildcard phase.

Adducul got things in the early goings for the Beermen, who notched their seventh consecutive victory and closed out the classification round with a 13-5 (win-loss) record. Adducul went 5-for-5 from the field in the first half for 10 points and Dorian Pena and Danny Ildefonso combined for 7-of-11 shooting from the perimeter as SMB’s big men took the scoring brunt from the Danny Seigle, the team’s top scorer, who struggled in the opening half.

The Beermen posted its first double digit lead at 15-4 on a basket by Adducul with still 6:54 left in the first quarter.

SMB virtually put the game away late in the second quarter with a 10-to-nothing run over a three-minute span which gave the Beermen an insurmountable 57-30 advantage with 3:20 remaining in the period. Gabby Espinas had six points in that run that ended on Adducul’s last basket of the half.

After a two-point first half, Seigle warmed up in the second half and finished with 16 points, the same output tallied by Adducul. (DBC)

    The scores:

    San Miguel Beer 108 – Tugade 19, Adducul 16, Seigle 16, Espinas 12, Ildefonso 11, Pena 11, Racela 9, Tenorio 6, Hontiveros 4, Wilson 2, Calaguio 2, Gonzales 0.

    Air21 104 – David 34, Canaleta 18, de Ocampo Y. 14, de Ocampo R. 11, Santos 7, Telan 7, Arboleda 7, Sotto 2, Billones 2, Avenido 2, Dimaunahan 0, Bernardo 0.

    Quarterscores: 34-20, 63-40, 81-69, 108-104.

  5. Well ok lang naman siguro sharing of opinions, pero feeding false information is another thing.... I mean, I used to work for san miguel and I have friends there.... and I haven't heard anything of that trade of sort...

    Opinions, YES

    Misinformation NO

    That's my two cents in....

  6. Any of the Guys wanna volunteer to Create a thread for alex cabagnot.... gawin ninyong subtitle: better than A.I., better than Kobe hahahahaha....

Di kaya si jopit nga si alex cabagnot? hmmmm.....

Hehehehehe.... para di OT.... if Ginebra wins tonight, then San Miguel and Ginebra would automatically be qualified in the semifinals.... If red bull wins on the other hand, it would be Ginebra (12-5), San Miguel (12-5) and Red-Bull (12-6), which would make Monday's game against Air21 must win to go direct to the semis.

  7. Danny Seigle picked up his game in third quarter to lead the outright-semis-seeking San Miguel Beermen to their sixth consecutive victory, a 114-102 romp over the Talk ‘N Text Phone Pals Sunday night at the Araneta Coliseum.

SMB’s leading scorer and second-best overall in the conference was at his deadliest in the third quarter, going 6-for-7 from the field and 3-for-3 from the line for 16 points in the period as the Beermen outscored the Phone Pals, 42-22, to turn around the complexion of the game.

Seigle was practically in his comfort zone in that killer stretch that neither among Harvey Carey, Don Allado and Anthony Washington – TNT’s best frontline defenders – weren’t good enough to stop the SMB wingman.

“He’s such a terrific offensive player. What can I say?” said SMB coach Chot Reyes, who recorded his longest winning streak since leading the Coca-Cola Tigers to an all-time franchise-best seven game streak spanning the elims and semis of the 2003 All-Pinoy Cup. “Coming into the season, our main objective really was really to keep Danny (Seigle) in his best shape as a PBA player.”

Seigle, who was the Best Player of the Conference in last season’s Philippine Cup, eventually finished the game with 26 points on a 10-of-22 shooting from the field and 5-of-5 from the line. He also had six rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 36 minutes of action.

But he also got a lot of help from Danny Ildefonso, who finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, six assists and shotblock, Dondon Hontiveros, who scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half, and Lordy Tugade who added 14 points.

It was feel-good victory for the Beermen, who avenged their 84-90 loss to the Phone Pals in their first meeting last Nov. 19 when Seigle was resting an injured eye. But more significantly, their 12th win overall in 17 games earned them at least a playoff for one of two outright semifinal berths up for grabs.

“We knew they (TNT) will be highly-energized coming into the game because they are fresh from an eight-day break. And true enough they jumped the gun on us. But as I have told the players if we keep up with them we could win this game,” Reyes said.

The loss was the eighth in 17 games for the Phone Pals, who will now have their sights on an outright quarterfinal spot instead after bowing out of the race for one of the Top 2 slots.

With Jimmy Alapag scoring eight points and Allado adding seven, the Phone Pals dominated the first quarter that had them leading by as much as 28-12.

They were still up, 48-40, with two minutes left in the second quarter when the Beermen closed out the period with an 8-2 run to pull even at 50-all at halftime. Olsen Racela had six points in that run.

SMB then seized control by scoring the first eight points of the third quarter with Seigle, Ildefonso and Tugade conspiring and never trailed again.

Allado scored 21 points to show the way for the Phone Pals while Asi Taulava scored all 18 of his points in the second half. But Jimmy Alapag, went scoreless in the second half after pouring 15 points in the opening half. (DBC)

    The scores:

    San Miguel Beer 114 – Seigle 26, Ildefonso 18, Hontiveros 15, Tugade 14, Racela 11, Pena 9, Adducul 7, Tenorio 5, Espinas 4, Wilson 4, Gonzales 1.

    Talk ‘N Text 102 – Allado 21, Taulava 18, Alapag 14, Ritualo 14, Carey 12, Washington 8, Belano 8, Cardona 7, Fran 0, Noble 0.

    Quarterscores: 18-26, 50-50, 92-72, 114-102.

  8. Pabayaan na ninyo yan... die hard fan lang yan ni alex.... kita mo nga yung last post niya ay about the "nike" endorsment deal

Anyway, San Miguel's next opponent is Talk and Text (on sunday).... Good Luck to SMB :D

  9. The San Miguel Beermen showed how mean they can be when playing defense.

After a leisurely first half, the Beermen poured their efforts on the defensive end in the third quarter, propelling them to their fifth consecutive victory -- a 97-85 romp over the Welcoat Dragons Wednesday night at the Araneta Coliseum.

Danny Seigle went 8-for-11 from the floor and 11-for-11 from the free throw line to show the way for San Miguel with 28 points. Romel Adducul contributed 12 points and Dorian Pena tallied 11 points and grabbed as many rebounds as the Beermen got back at the Dragons, who defeated the Seigle-less SMB squad 96-88 in their first meeting last October 15.

But more importantly, by improving to 11-5 (win-loss) record – San Miguel Beer solidified its hold of the No. 2 spot, bringing the Beermen closer to an outright semifinal berth in the Talk ‘N Text-PBA Philippine Cup.

“We never think of this. We just got lucky because the early leaders started losing. And since we’re in this position we might as well make the most out of it,” offered SMB head coach Chot Reyes after the game.

Nevertheless, the end result didn’t seem enough to please Reyes.

“If we will play just this kind of game against Talk ‘N Text we won’t stand a chance,” he said obviously referring to his troops’ lack of intensity and enthusiasm in dealing with the Dragons.

The Phone Pals defeated the Beermen, 90-84, in their first meeting last November 19 and Reyes is eagerly looking at Sunday’s rematch as chance for his troops to get even, just like they did against Welcoat.

The turning point of the game came in the third quarter when San Miguel Beer after playing catch-up in the first half, held the Dragons to a 7-of-21 shooting from the field and forced them into six turnovers in the third quarter while outscoring Welcoat, 29-20.

After Nino Gelig made two free throws to give Welcoat a 50-46 lead at the start of the third period, San Miguel wasted no time in responding with an 18-2 run which game them a 64-52 advantage from which Welcoat never recovered. Danny Ildefonso, who also missed their first meeting against the Dragons because of an injury, tallied seven points, four rebounds, three assists, two shotblocks while Pena added four points in that decisive spurt.

Jay-R Reyes scored 15 points on just a 4-of-12 shooting from the floor and Denver Lopez and Joey Mente added 12 apeice for Welcoat, which made just 31-of-82 attempts from the field.

It was a frustrating loss for the Dragons, who picked up their eighth consecutive loss and 14th overall in 17 games, virtually eliminating them in the race with Coca-Cola for the fourth and last spot in the wildcard phase of the elims.

As things stand now, Welcoat’s only chance to be able to get to the next phase is to win its last game against Air 21 on Christmas Day and hope that the Coca-Cola Tigers drop their last two games to forge a playoff for that last spot in the wildcard phase. (DBC)

    The scores:

    San Miguel Beer 97 – Seigle 28, Adducul 12, Pena 11, Tugade 10, Hontiveros 9, Espinas 8, Ildefonso 7, Gonzales 5, Racela 4, Tenorio 2, Wilson 1, Calaguio 0.

    Welcoat 85 – Reyes 15, Lopez 12, Mente 12, Cabatu 11, Gelig 10, Baguion 7, Sagad 5, Sta. Maria 5, Lao 4, Feihl 4.

    Quarterscores: 17-22, 46-48, 75-68, 97-85.

Para di OT.... May laban ang SMB vs. Welcoat Dragons on Wednesday. Good Luck!

  11. LUCENA City – No coach Chot Reyes for San Miguel, no problem for the Beermen.

Even in the absence of their high-profiled mentor, the Beermen still played like a well-oiled machine in a 108-91 crushing of the Coca-Cola Tigers at the Quezon Convention Center here Saturday.

Danny Seigle stood at the forefront of a scorching first half when the Beermen readily decided the outcome of the lopsided match.

The fancy forward scored 17 of his game-high 19 points during that stretch, time and again pouncing on the erratic defense of a Coca-Cola team that never really got into the groove for the entire game.

Olsen Racela added 18 points while Danny Ildefonso had 13 in San Miguel’s fourth straight win and 10th in 15 games in the 2006-07 Talk N Text PBA Philippine Cup.

The Beermen firmed their grip on second place, creeping just half a game behind frontrunning Barangay Ginebra, and kept them on track of notching one of two outright semifinals berths at stake.

That they did it without Reyes on the bench was a great attribute to the Beermen’s discipline and teamwork, qualities that didn’t escape the attention of assistant coach Biboy Ravanes.

“I just simply motivated my players, especially on two things – yung trust dahil kailangan naming maniwala sa isa’t-isa kahit wala si coach Chot, and yung discipline, dahil mahirap yung kanya-kanya kami,” said Ravanes.

Reyes attended the Ateneo alumni homecoming where he was the recipient of a Hall-of-Fame award.

“We just followed kung ano yung sistema na ginagawa niya (Reyes), which is a good sign of the team’s maturity,” added the San Miguel assistant coach.

A long two-pointer at the corner gave Seigle his 17th point in the first half – on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor – as the Beermen began to break the game apart, 49-31, midway in the second period.

Two minutes later, the Beermen made it a 55-33 contest on back-to-back three-pointers by Racela and Chris Calaguio, forcing Tigers coach Binky Favis to call a timeout.

John Arigo knocked in 19 points to pace Coca-Cola, whose poor shooting in the first half never got the Tigers on track.

The blowout loss was the eighth in the last nine games for the Tigers, now 4-12 overall and teetering in danger of being the first team to be shown the exit.

Despite the slow start, the Tigers tried to make a game out of it, and cut down the deficit to 46-62 early into the third period.

But they failed to sustain the run, and soon after, the Beermen padded the lead to several 24-point bulges, the last of which came six minutes into the fourth, 97-73, on a three-pointer by Calaguio. (GR)

  12. SMB is Solo Second... wohooo 10 wins 5 losses.... 3 games to go, sana diretsuhin na nila para at least semifinals na agad

    San Miguel 108 – Seigle 19, Racela 18, Ildefonso 13, Adducul 11, Hontiveros 10, Calaguio 9, Pena 9, Tugade 7, Espinas 6, Tenorio 2, Gonzales 2, Wilson 2.

    Coca-Cola 91– Arigo 19, Peek 13, Pacana 11, Misolas 11, Yeo 9, Antonio 8, Miranda 7, Ramos 6, Salangsang 4, Caceres 2, Gavino 1, Ferreria 1.

negative 5 ata score ni cabagnot

  13. mejo nabobo siya in his stint in the mba....but who knows baka ma palabas ni chot yung totoong potential niya. you can just imagine how strong smb can get if ildefonso gets back to his former shape and adducul lives up to his potential.

btw, i saw jc intal practicing with smb, just wondering if that is a sign of things to come for smb?

Well Danny I showed flashes of himself last game even though he just scored 7 points but grabbed 17 rebounds.... Well injuries can really slow down a person. Just like Menk, he is still strong but not as dominant as he was (Or maybe it is the year of the guards right now). Well if adducul played the same way he played when he was at Ginebra so much the better

  14. Huwaw.... Cabagnot is a GOD.... he is so good that he only scored 10 points when they lost to talk and text.... bwahahahahahaha....

I've been checking the PBA.COM.PH site and I see nothing of the sort, even rumors

  15. Scoresheet ulet.... woohooo... SMB is firing on all cylinders

    San Miguel Beer 103 – Tugade 20, Hontiveros 20, Racela 14, Seigle 10, Ildefonso 7, Adducul 6, Calaguio 6, Pena 6, Tenorio 5, Wilson 5, Gonzales 4.

    Alaska 99 – Belasco 20, Miller 20, Dela Cruz 14, Thoss 13, Ferriols 11, Cariaso 11, Bajar 3, Singson 3, Juinio 2, Laure 2.
