  1. Gudam Civic i'm into scale modelling, my problem is madali matangal or brittle yung work piece after malagyan ng glue, can u help into that, ano klase ba ng glue ginagamit mo?, saan ka bumibili ng scale model, ako airplane and tank ang binubuo ko. thanks in advance

Wolf, the current trend now sa kits ay superglue (Mighty Bond, etc.). For sure kapit yun, just be careful not to glue yourself or your other stuff.

Check out Lils Hobby Shop at the basement of Megamall, Trinoma and at Park Square in Makati.

  2. boelcke, nice job on the jumbo jet sir! how was the custom decal done?

I used Scopa decal paper and a computer. The "Philippines" marks and the registry numbers are easy enough, but for the tail, winglets and doors and windows I actually had to do the artwork for that. Well actually, artwork per se is relatively easy, whats difficult is ensuring theyre in the right scale and specs once printed.

    Doc,

Theres still time. Build! Build! Build!

    :)

  3. I even reuse old masking tape, it has almost no adhesive left so less chances of lifting paint.[/b]

I do that too. Sometimes if I dont have anything to mask after painting Id just stick the used tape onto the cutting mat and let them stay there until right about that time their tacks become too sticky for comfort. Just in case I had to paint something and require used masking tape.

  4. Thanks gents for the compliments.

    Doc,

I printed out the decals from Scopa sheet. Had to do the graphics for it myself too.

I use bottled hardware thinner to clean airbrushes too. Im probably more of a cheapskate than you, Doc.

    :D

  5. Hehehe! Nice lessons, Doc.

Although Id qualify number 7 with Gunze Lacquer Thinner.

Anyways, heres the latest off my bench. Kitech 1/300 kit. Costs P189 and the parts look every bit like it. Had to fill each panel line with superglue, sand smooth and rescribe. The landing gear is garbage, so for the first time in a long time I built an in-flight model. I made the decals myself.

  6. I'll bet your workbench has much prettier models on it Herr Boelcke. Unfortunately there were no Nighthawk helos when I finally got to Uniwide. I wonder if they do sales like this often.

Did you ever catch the sale SM did in the 90s?

They sold ESCI products at unbelievable prices.

    1/72 KC-135A at P300

1/72 AC-130 Gunship at P330 (man, I cant believe I didnt get this)

    1/72 F-4C/D Phantom at P200

    1/72 F-5A at P110

These sold at SM Sta. Mesa, SM Cubao, SM North EDSA.

If I had a time machine....

  7. Latest off my bench. I got into this side GB of sorts with some of my clubmates.

Its supposed to be a What-If PAF F-16 vs. PAF Gripen build. Ive built a What If PAF Gripen before, so I built an F-16 this time.

This is the 1/72 Italeri kit. Made the PAF decals myself.

This is a diorama I did some time ago. I basically just wanted to provide a base for all my russian figures so they wouldnt get lost and at the same time, I could also put them on display. That explains the rather mixed quality of figures that are in this diorama. Some of the figures here were made almost 8 to 10 years ago, and others are more recent additions.

Wow, thats pretty good! Really great job!
