  1. As an engineer, I think it would really help me a lot to take on a masters degree which is not too technical. It would certainly broaden my perspective of how a Business operates. Wouldn't want to get stuck doing the same thing all my life....that's usually the bottomline for people who are too technical. btw, planning on getting applied economics at DLSU. :)

I've dealt with plenty of MBA grads in my work, DLSU/ADMU pa. One thing I observed lacking in them is lateral thinking. As one of the above posts said, one needs "the art of the hustle" when doing business. No business school will teach you that. In layman's terms, common sense + diskarte is all that's needed. If I were to choose again, I'd rather have chosen Industrial Design or some other Math or engineering course for my undergrad. This is coming from a DLSU business grad.

  2. Pardon the insolence, but, what is the point of threads like these?

They don't contribute anything remotely entertaining, funny, helpful or knowledgeable.

It's like those "Anong Huling Nahawakan Mo?" or "Anong Huling Nakain Mo?" types of threads. I mean, what's the point? So someone answers the question. And then? It goes on and on in a numbingly mindless loop. It takes up MTC's server space. It crowds more useful threads out of the main page. It makes more useful and thought-provoking or entertaining threads hard to find.

If there is a purpose, though, it would be that one could easily see which MTC posters have too much time on their hands.

  3. Sa DLSU Taft, sila:

Bernadette Allyson (asawa ni Gary Estrada)

Nanette Medved (Benilde sya, pero I saw her occasionally after law subjects at night sa DLSU Main)

    Mike Cortez

    Ren-Ren Ritualo

    Donita Rose

Barbie Almalbis (classmate and seatmate. Super down-to-earth sya)

Don Allado (classmate sa Algebra yata. Bobo.)

Mac-Mac Cardona (angas, bobo din sa school. Gusto pang sibakin yung friend ko, busted naman)

    Ty Tang (bansot.)

TJ Trinidad (classmate and seatmate. Lagi kaming pinag-iinitan ng Quantitative Techniques prof namin in Coll. of Business. Worked for Purefoods for a while before going modeling full-time, then eventually acting.)

Claudine Trillo (made my heart skip a beat when I was first introduced to her by a common friend)

  4. Nawala yata yung pinost ko just a few days ago? Bummer. Here it is again, the BMW Z8:

Old as it is (2002), it's now a collector's item. Only 1,000 units produced worldwide.

  5. Kris Aquino. seems to be the topnotcher of hated celebs, for understandable reasons. I hate her to death too. I hope she gets AIDS or some form of tissue necrosis, so we can all watch her suffer for a long time before she dies.

Tim Yap. I'm wondering what it is about him (aside from maybe not being telegenic) that makes so many people hate him?

Mikey Arroyo. Feeling gwapo sobra, tabachoy naman at walang talent. Hope he and his dad rot in hell soon.

Tessa Prieto-Valdes. Why the hell does this bitch even have a job? Can't write, can't act, can't sing. She's short, fat, wrinkly and has a quacking-duck voice. It's all flamboyance and fluffy feathers.

Willie Revillame. Pu*&@%6i%@G mokong nato, what the hell is this dipshit lowlife doing earning 8-digits per month in a job that involves gyrating to cheapass dance moves and insulting people on his show?

  6. Although I knew right off the bat that the "Kamusta na kayo diyan" text was a scam, I almost fell for the "claim your free insurance" scam. The perpetrators of the latter are really professional-sounding; most folks won't be able to tell that it isn't really the insurance company calling them. I only caught them when I told them to forward my free accident insurance card to the main office of PhilAm Life along UN Avenue since I already had an existing policy with them. To this they said something like "Sorry, this can only be claimed at the Caloocan branch." That was a dead giveaway. All big insurance companies' head offices can handle the whole range of transactions that any branch of theirs can do. The scam only came to light when a friend of mine said he was being asked for his credit card at the "branch" even if he didn't have to pay anything. They will probably clone your card right under your nose at the scam office (complete with corporate logo of the insurance company). It's not only Philam Life that I've heard of being "duplicated," the names of other insurance companies are also being used.

  7. A blind date where the girl was really fickle-minded about where she wanted to eat, then kept complaining about lots of things when we were actually at the restaurant of her choosing. To top it off, she wasn't the pretty thing that our common friend made her out to be!

If you are in a situation like I described above, what would you do to get out of it as quickly and as painlessly as you can?

  8. Ito pa: ang paghingi ng pasalubong sa mga papunta pa lang or galing abroad.

Nampucha, pag maliit lang ang gift, think of the effort a traveller on limited time overseas uses to buy your gift.

Pag malaking gift, isipin niyo naman kung gaano kahirap magtravel, especially pag connecting flights at bitbit nung tao yung mga bagahe?

  9. I'm only familiar with Whey. What whey does, according to Muscle Magazine, is simply force more water into your muscle tissues by aiding in water retention. You don't need whey to gain muscle mass. Do your regular workouts, then drink more water than you used to. Don't overdo it, though. You run the risk of hyponatremia, which is a salt-water imbalance. Drink one Gatorade once in a while.

  10. That I can't stand hot environments. 30mins in the sun is enough to give me a migraine.

I sleep with the aircon full blast, wearing shorts + T-shirt and no blankets every night.

  11. I'm all for allowing foreign students to play in collegiate sports.

The problem is, how do you monitor those really studying, and those who are recruited merely to play?

If a school is deadset on hiring a well-developed athlete from overseas, it can easily manufacture class cards and academic requirements just to show proof of compliance with collegiate sports regulations.

  12. We've used all sorts of batteries, from 3SM size (for pickups) to 2D (for our trucks). Based on our experience, Motolite barely makes the mark when it comes to longevity. Our Motolite Truckmaster conked out barely after the one-yr warranty period (they don't offer 2-yr warranties for commercial vehicle batteries). Yung 6SM size Motolite Tropicalized namin, they all failed to reached the end of the warranty period so they were all replaced. Although they were replaced, I'm unhappy with the hassle of having them replaced. There's vehicle downtime and time wasted replacing them.

Then we switched to this unknown Japanese brand called FB (Furukawa battery), recommended to us by a friend in the trucking service. The shift in quality was incredible. FB batteries are also just guaranteed for one year, but I checked some of our trucks' batteries, and it showed that some were in use for over 3 yrs already and still going. From that time on, I used FB in all our vehicles, even in our small cars. They have both regular and maintenance-free variants as well, and they definitely cost much less than Motolite.

I've also used AC Delco, an American brand, for our small cars. Those mothaf#&kas were tough as hell too. Both AC Delcos used in a Nissan Sentra and a Toyota Innova lasted way more than the 2yr warranty period. Very satisfied user here of Japanese and American batteries!:)
