  2. Hello docs!

The arch of my left foot hurts like hell whenever I walk. It feels like a muscle or ligament is stretched-pulled-to its limits. Additionally, my left leg feels like it'll suffer from cramps all the time. However, if you feel my calf, it's soft. I can't do the Indian sit or a sitting yoga pose without feeling my leg startin to hurt.

Any specialist I can consult? TIA!

sounds like plantar fascitis... see an orthopedist or a rehab specialist. pero usually rest kelangan diyan...

  3. docs,

why is it every-time i lay down ( dapa ) after a few minutes, i will get a cold it will start by feeling of pleghm ( plema ) building up on my throat then next is my nose then will start clogging.

once i sit down or lay on my back it will go away but if i lay on my chest ( dapa ) too long the pleghm will stay and it takes time to get rid of it

thanks in advance to those who would reply

hmmm... sounds like an allergic rhinitis with a trigger due to pressure or maybe humidity changes when you lie face down on a pillow... hard to tell though...

in simplest terms, an incomplete right bundle branch block means a slight delay in the electrical current in your heart. Usually, it is a benign finding, being present in around 5-6% of the normal population and not associated with any heart attacks. Further testing like a 2d echo or a treadmill test may be required depending on your symptoms.

PM me if you have you any more questions

  5. I wouldn't advise taking them if you have a heart problem, especially if you're taking nitrates. Sexual enhancers usually contain compounds which can 1)increase heart rate which can cause the heart to overwork itself and 2)vasodilators which can cause your blood pressure to drop suddenly. Of course, this is all in theory, since no one actually puts on the side of the box kung ano ang laman ng mga supplements na yan. Take at your own risk

  6. I would like to ask if it normal na hindi marinig yung diastolic ng taong matataba kasi there are cases na pag matataba na kinukuhanan ko ng bp, minsan di ko marinig yung diastolic nila. Thanks!

you mean you still hear korotkoff sounds even until the BP meter reads zero? systolic BP is the first korotkoff sound (or bp sound) you hear, diastolic BP is when you hear the last korotkoff sound (meaning at the pressure when you don't hear the sounds anymore)

  7. Doc, which has the most definitive laboratory exam for type1 and type 2 diabetes and why?

Regular blood tests are not enought to define between type1 and type 2 diabetes. Main pathology of type 1 diabetes is islet cell destruction leading to low insulin production. Main pathology of type 2 diabetes is insulin resistance which means tissues are not that susceptible to insulin. Both though are treated with the same medications, type 1 diabetes just usually manifests earlier

Diabetes Mellitus diagnosis (both type 1 and type 2) can be obtained by 1) high FBS >126, 2) high HBa1c >7.0, 3) high 2 hr post prandial blood sugar >200. This is based on current diabetes guidelines.

Blood pressure: Does it have a daily pattern?

Does blood pressure have a daily pattern? I've noticed that my blood pressure is always lower in the morning than at night.

    Answer

    from Sheldon G. Sheps, M.D.

Blood pressure has a daily pattern. Blood pressure is normally lower at night while you're sleeping. Your blood pressure starts to rise a few hours before you wake up. Your blood pressure continues to rise during the day, usually peaking in the middle of the afternoon. Then in the late afternoon and evening, your blood pressure begins dropping again.

Having an abnormal blood pressure pattern, such as high blood pressure in the morning, can mean that you have a health problem. Potential problems include:

    Poorly controlled high blood pressure

    Sleep apnea

    Tumors of the adrenal gland

    Kidney disease

Risk factors for developing an abnormal blood pressure pattern include:

    Night-shift work

    Caffeine use

    Tobacco use

    Too much stress

Taking blood pressure medications that don't last 24 hours

Your doctor can tell you if an abnormal daily blood pressure pattern may need treatment. He or she may recommend a 24-hour blood pressure monitoring test. The device used for this test measures your blood pressure at regular intervals over a 24-hour period and provides a more accurate picture of blood pressure changes over a typical day and night.

well said! common recommendation already in american heart association is to do a 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring in hypertensives

  9. Bakit tumataas mga blood pressure pag pagabi na. Whats the logic behind it

Play of hormones and other cofactors yan. Depende din sa physiology ng tao. yung iba have an early morning BP rush, pagkagising tsaka lang mataas BP, yung iba pag gumagabi na tsaka tumataas.

  10. thank you for the detiled explanation. really appreciate everyone's help.

hey romeo, since yaya yun ng kis mo, better check your kids if they have TB. mga matatanda (kagaya natin :P) may have some immunity pero your kids might get primary complex. pa PPD test mo sila sa pedia mo.

p.s. patest mo plema/dura ng yaya kung may tb.
