While Purefoods and Alaska are still contesting the All Filipino crown, the 8 other squads are slowly starting the preparations for the Fiesta Conference which opens on March 21st. And to make sure they’ll be the ones in the finals for next conference, several teams are naturally seeking ways to buff up their roster.

In fact two playoffs teams that were at odds with each other have smoked the peace pipe and are negotiating a blockbuster deal which could send a player known for his patented move for a player who amazes with his hang time. That same popular team is also trying to bate this one player who was traded recently and an energy guy from another team as an alternate plan if plan A won’t push through.

These two teams are also discussing the possibility of trading two players in the forward position. A Fil-Am for a former collegiate standout? This is not a priority but if the offer is there, both are willing to give it a go.

While Mr. Patented move and the Fil-am forward are in the market, a streak shooter and a center from that same squad are also reportedly going back to their previous turf. In exchange, a former free agent who proved to be a brawny banger and a wide center with a nice shooting touch from mid range will be donning new colors. This will be the center’s 3rd team in the PBA.

And speaking of centers, one team which had a late surge in the standings before bowing out of the playoffs is now open for negotiations for their star center. Nothing is final yet with whom they’ll be trading with because they’re weighing out their options. This could mean whatever is being offered right now is not enough. They’re also trying to find a way to get a former PBA player back in the league which could improve their perimeter game.

anak ng @!#%! ang hirap manghula...but honestly, this will be very interesting.

  2. Yup and Ginebra could ditch Villanueva and Alvarez. Haha! But seriously, Hatfield brings KG-like intensity to Ginebra. Had Hatfield been with Ginebra during their series with Alaska, the series could have been more competitive.

i fully agree. alaska's frontline was just too much against ginebra's frontline. the 2 ateneans were just one step slower than their aces counterparts. hatfield could have been the x-factor for ginebra.

nonetheless, with hatfield's impending arrival at the kings' camp, the question now is who goes on the reserved list?

  3. If I'm not mistaken, H-Bomb played only one conference for Ginebra in 2006 but in that conference, he guaranteed a championship for Ginebra ala Pat Riley against TNT and Ginebra won it.

yeah...who would ever forget that quartet of menk, h-bomb and the fast and the furious. absolutely fantastic to watch :thumbsupsmiley:

another chance to watch these 4 guys play together...these guys may have slowed down with age...but if these 4 would be in tip-top shape, plus jc, baguio and tubid, palagay ko marami pa din pahihirapan ang ginebra.

  4. Ganon? He should get some advice and consider it before shifting to boxing, height and brawn doesn't necessarily mean na kayang-kaya n'ya ang competition lalo na 'yung mga nasa heavyweight division, paging Ginebra, kunin n'yo na si Crisano, Loves s'ya ng mga taga-Barangay.

according to ABAP, with the proper training and exposure, he might be able to deliver a gold or even a silver in the asian games bwahahaha hellooooooo paging ginebra!!! baka pwede nyong kunin ito si crisano panapat sa malalaki ng alaska :thumbsupsmiley:

believe it or not but the guy's going into boxing...at least that's what the newspapers say.

  6. kung may trade man...you have to let go of Sunday and Mamaril. sayang lang tlga si mamaril..hindi na bumalik yung laro nya tulad ng nasa PF sha dati. ng nalipat ng ginebra..parang..nawala yung laro nya..ewan ko kung ano nangyari.

Id still keep MC and JJ..and im expecting their game to go back..halata naman na wala sa kundisyon ang ung confidence factor nabawasan talaga.

sayang lang talaga si mamaril...he just wasn't given the opportunity by coach jong to prove his worth.

imo, kings just did not have the manpower to match-up with alaska especially in size.

  7. Dapat pagsabayin na lang ni Jong sina Mamaril at Villanueva o kaya Alvarez, luging-lugi sila sa rebound, 'di yata n'ya napupuna na nakakakuha ng 15 rebounds si dela cruz, key pa naman ang rebounding sa running game nila, they should start aggressively and have a good start mamaya or else maghanap na sila ng import for next conference..

imho an alvarez-villanueva frontline would at least be a match against thoss and devance in the absence of menk. sayang lang talaga. just as when menk was getting back his game.

alvarez would give ginebra an agile and mobile big man...unfortunately until game 3, he has not been given the playing time to prove his worth.

    oh well..

Hey..I just hope..RICH ALVAREZ gets more playing time! I think he did well for playing less than 9min in the last quarter.

sayang talaga. 2 pressure-packed free throws by tubid. swerte pa din ng alaska. but it was a huge lead to begin with.

i've been wondering why alvarez has never been given the minutes by coach jong until last night. may ibubuga naman kahit papano yung mama. imagine a tall and mobile player going up against thoss or devance. yes...i hope he gets the playing time to build confidence. palagay ko kulang lang sa tiwala si jong sa mga bata niya.

it takes 4 wins to clinch the series...one game at a time. who knows? maybe we will see a mighty comeback by the kings and rewrite history. go kings :thumbsupsmiley:

  9. what is killing the kings is the front line of alaska...plus the fact that the guards especially jc and tubid are nowhere to be found. mukhang napag-aralan ng husto ni tim cone.

game 3 will be very crucial. the kings must win otherwise they might just kiss their aspirations goodbye.

    kaya pa yan :thumbsupsmiley:

  10. Celino Cruz ata yung isa.

Good thing is Caguioa scored a lot today.. sana tumuloy tuloy till next game.

Pagod and drained..hopefully makabalik agad sa game 2.

obviously the kings didn't have the legs...totally drained after the series against tnt. they tried their best to make it a close game but the lead was just too much.

expect a different ginebra team come friday. hope injuries to e-menk and cruz are not that serious.

    nice game by caguioa.

  12. So, whats with Mamaril?

And Homer Se? Sayang ang laki, nasaan na mga yun?

mamaril is another dependable big man who can give quality minutes if given the chance.

  13. WILLY WILSON IS GOD!!! hehehe!

Ginebra just killed TNT sa offensive boards.

It only shows, mas gusto manalo ng Team natin..

oo di naglaro si De Ocampo..bakit? Di naman naglaro si Mamaril ha!

    HAHAHAHA!

a work horse...this is how wilson should be described. an underrated but very effective player. wonder how many offensive boards he got in game 5.

with jc's fine showing against tnt, he will surely be a marked man come wednesday.

  14. CHOT and MVP: WHAT IF hindi tayo nag walk out?

    sige..yan ang bangungot ninyo!

they could have at least given themselves a chance to win...ang nangyari, napikon...nag walk-out...natalo.

it was ginebra at its best...outside shooting...inside plays...focus and you could see the kings wanted it more.

CONGRATS BARANGAY! Tama yung isang poster dito nuon, wag matakot at babawi yang Ginebra maski down by 2 games. NAGKATOTOO!!! Baka Alaska naman ang mag walk out!

ginebra fans never doubted the heart of the players...if there is any team in the pba that is capable of coming back from an 0-2 deficit it is ginebra.

pero di pa tapos ang laban. enjoy what you have accomplished in the quarters...the next battle will be on wednesday.

    go kings :thumbsupsmiley:

  17. the actuations of chot and his statements including that of mr. vargas are clear signs of desperation and intended to condition the minds of the referees for this afternoon's do or die winner take all game 5.

akala kasi ng "walk and text" eh with their big frontline kayang-kaya nila ang ginebra...when they won game 2 with that game winning shot of mr. dillinger, titiklop na ang ginebra. apparently chot underestimated the kings.

now mr. reyes will have to contend not only with the kings but also the legion of ginebra fans tonight. GO KINGS :thumbsupsmiley:
