  1. hindi delikado yan. Its better to disable it in the bios than crank the case open. after playing just go to the bios and set it "auto" again. or I have another solution using control panel - system - device manager - cd/dvd rom drive - disable the appropriate drives. It's up to you which one is better.

  2. i tried using that although still cant  make the game work..

maybe its just for me.. dunno..

    i hope there could be a guide or some steps;

to make this game run using this tool..

    after mounting the game using DT;

the splash screen loads, i select play game..

    then it checks for the DVD, i load up SF, select unload cd drive ;

then everything hangs..*weird* maybe im doing something wrong..

I hate to inform you that you will have to remove the cd drives. Just unplug the power cables from the drive or disable it from the bios by setting it to "none" before doing it as above. One thing though, i don't know if the game "exe" should be cracked or not cracked to run it. Good luck. :thumbsupsmiley:

  4. tanong lang po, i have a 2 sata hd connected to my computer. ngayon gusto kong mag add ng hd sa computer ko pero wala nang spare na connection for a sata hd so ano ang puede kong gawin?

you have to get a PCI SATA Controller card if you you want another SATA HD.

  5.

    seeking advice...

my problem arose when an outside email address (meaning email address which is not registered in the company directory) sent an email to the Managing Partner containing rather inflammatory messages...the sender's name was my name (meaning the name appearing in the from box of the email) but the email address was not a corp account email (it was a private yahoo email addy)...i did not create the yahoo mail account nor sent the said email...

i am being pinned for its contents...although i have explained myself, i wish to know if there is a way to trace the source of the email...i know IP addresses traceable but can it be done here in the Philippines? is there a way to trace said email?

would appreciate your input on the matter...

IP tracing can be done in the Phils. you just need a program such as mcafee firewall, protectX or the readily downloadable IP tracer (i think its free) to trace the attack. What I've not tried is to trace a previous attack. if the IP traced came from another country then they should apologized. :D

    good luck.

  6. Guys, tulong nmn. I have a problem unistalling a program sa Control Panel. At first, kinopya ko lng yung files from another PC (its a power management software para s laptop). When I ran it, I received an error and re-started the PC. When I tried to run the program, ayaw tlga kya I decided to delete n lng the files. When I checked the Control Panel, na-register pala sya s installed programs and when I tried to uninstall, nag-e-error message n sya. After some time, nakakuha ko ng installer nung power management program and when I tried to install it, ayaw kasi registered p din yung lumang program s Control Panel. Ndi ko tuloy ma-install yung bagong files. I tried to look sa registry kung saan sya registered pero ndi ko makita. Does anyone know kung saan nakalagay yung location ng mga programs n nkalagay s Add-Remove programs sa Control Panel?? Help n naman peeps.....  :(  :(  :(

You can use jv16 Power Tools available at www.jv16.org

Its not free but you can use almost everything in it. Just be careful in erasing registry files.

  7. Guys, just want to ask if my rig can maximize the use of a Nvidia 6600GT 128MB, my specs are

    P4 2.4 Ghz

    1 G Ram

Would I be able to squeeze all the juice from this video card or is my system already wanting? Would getting a regular 6600 be good enough for my gaming needs?

I think its enough for your gaming needs. Just set your graphics aperture size (in BIOS) to 256MB for better performance. You can buy any Nvidia 6xxx or Radeon X8xx with AGP 8X speed or PCI-EX 16 type cards if your motherboard does support it.

  8. Yeah I tried that.  Ok naman ang result.  If I want a PC that can run the best games today, ano ang specs na kailngan ko and yung di ko kailngan masyado i buff like what should be the Video card, or what should be my mobo, how much RAM?

You can go for Intel P4 or AMD for processor with 2GBs freq the least. If you want a 64bit capability, AMD is my choice.

Motherboards: Any brand as long as it has PCI-EX 16X and AGP 8X slots (my personal pref is ASUS or MSI with NVidia Chipset). More importantly is to get a board that can support a high FSB speed.

RAM: Kingston or corsair (pref with samsung chips). 256MB at least for Win XP, 512MB recommended, 1GB for 64bit Windows OS.

Video Card: NVidia Gforce 5700 to 6XXX recomended if you have NVidia chipset mobo. PCI-EX 16X video cards, even better. 128MB and 128bit at least. Radeon X series is also a top choice.

Hard disk: Maxtor, hitachi, western digital with at least 8mb cache. 7,200RPM ok, 10,000RPM godlike. SATA/SATA150 or IDE, whichever.

Soundcard: Creative Audigy 2 or just your mobo's built-in soundcard (as long as it is 5.1 channels)

Speakers: Logitech, Creative or Altec Lansing. 2.1 channels to whatever your ears desire.

500VA above UPS (no need for AVR if you have UPS).

PSU: Enermax, HEC or any other branded and costly PSUs. Remember that the PSU is the life-force of the computer. Most system will run on a 350W PSU. 465W above for demanding systems. The more powerful your processor and video card as well as the more number of hardware connected that needs juice from the PSU will need definitely need more than 350W of power. Just keep your AVR or UPS wattage way above you PSU's wattage.

Monitor: 17inch at least. My CRT prefs are Samsung, LG, Sony with a screen resolution capacity of 1600 by 1200 at 60mhz refresh rate or 1024 by 768 at 85-100mhz refresh rate. The power of a graphics card is useless if the monitor can not support its capabilities.

For LCD, any brand with way way less than 21mms response time if you want to use it for gaming.

I hope this helps you with your decision. :)

  9. @ kUrTsKY

there are mobos that support AGP and PCI-Express slots already available. And since most games comming out this days are more power hungry, soon you may want to replace your CPU, mobo and graphics card.

  10. technician at shop told me the processor is not compatible with the 6600.

ung pins dad ng processor di match sa video card or if ever daw magawan ng paraan magakaka problema pc ko..

pls help.. dunno what to buy now. .

    thanks!

this is the first time I ever heard/read that a CPUs PINs are related to the video card and that you can configure the pins to match the video card. kUrTsKy, don't ever go back to that shop.

anyway, i advise you not to shell out much dough on AGP 8x cards cause its only a matter of time when this cards becomes a thing of the past.

  11. so even if the file type i write in the DVD-R disc is only an avi file, it still has to be played in a DVD drive.. tama ba pagkaintindi ko?

Sir bubuy, you are burning on a DVD media and "CD" players can not read DVD media while "DVD" players can read both DVD and CD medias. If you wan't to burn your VCDs, a DVD media can only take 6 CDs or approximately 3hrs (4.4gb) of media. If you wan't to make it longer, you could decrease the clarity, screen-size, etc of the movie but it will really make it sucks. It will not matter if it is DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW as long as it will be played in a computer with DVD-ROM and windows XP so you can read multisession DVDs.

If you want your burned DVDs to be played in DVD players you have to use a DVD+R media and Nero 6.6 or such to create a DVD format movie (3hrs movie only) or if your DVD burner is capable of burning on a Double/Dual Layer DVD disc (DVD-DL which costs about 350.00 and can contains 7-8GB) and finds it cost-effective, then by all means do so.

It is important to remember that you should always choose 1-2 steps below the fastest writing speed of your writer to prevent buffer under run even if your burner is protected against this. :)

  12. tanong ko lang mga bro.. ano gamit niyo pang performance evaluation ng PC? at anong utility gamit niyo pang-burn in ng PCs ? (ung heavy duty burn-in at automated meaning i can leave it overnight without user intervention going from one test to another)

    :)

    Primary:

SiSoft Sandra - for hardware, free download/shareware

Aquamark 3D - for Graphics card, free download/shareware

    Secondary:

    CPU stability test - free

    D3D Test - free

    Prime 95 -free

  13. guys what program can i use to decode my DVD Movies and convert it into divx or that i could play it in my computer without the dvd in my dvd rom drive. thanks!

just download "DVD decrypter" (i think its free) and you can rip DVD movies right away. Important, if you're planning to burn the ripped movie, always disable the macrovision protection when you rip DVD movies. java script:emoticon('')

  14. Hehe .. that wouldn't be a big problem, just a lot of clicking on yes. And if its indeed the folders under document and settings, that would be a lot of clicking yes. The admin can always take control, even when deny permissions are present .. it just takes a lot of perseverance in having to acknowledge every permission change to files and folders.

yes that's quite right but you just have to select the parent folder and replace or add a new owner, then applying these ownership to all subcontainers and objects :)

  15. Yup, the folders are still there, but can't access. Me and my wife are administrator, and both of our old folders are "access denied".

    Any more suggestions, please. TY

You just need to take ownership of the rights of the folder/drive/file.

    1. control panel - folder options: uncheck simple file sharing

    2. my computer - select the drive/folder/file

    3. right click the drive/folder/file and select properties

    4. go to the security tab - advance - permissions

---- there you will see the previos owner of the drive/folder/file

    5. click on the previous owner then select edit

    6. On the objects tab, change the name to your name or whatever name that you are using currently

    7. apply onto "this folder, subfolders and files"

    8. on the permissions, check everything under the allowed criteria

    9. if you want you can also select "apply this permissions to objects and or...."

    10. click OK and your done.

---- your current user will take ownership of everything inside the drive/folder/file you selected.

you can also remove the previous user and add a new user to take ownership of the files.

*** you can also do: no. 1 - 4 but instead of the permissions tab you can go to the owner tab - change owner to your current user name if it is listed in the provided list - click "replace owner on subcontainers and objects" then hit apply/ok and your done.

    I hope this helps

  16. could it be that my vid card or ram is busted?

what could be wrong with the floppy?

i raely use it..at hinde ako marunong magbukas ng pc ko

    wait ko nlgn technician  :)

Vid card and ram has nothing to do with it. If your vid card is fried or something, you will have no screen just the powerlight blinking on your monitor. Ram, the only way to bust a ram is to fry it with electricity from your PC volt settings in the BIOS, otherwise by trashing it during handling.

to look for the noisy part is to open the PC case and boot.

  17. guys i once posted a query here a while ago bout my media player, appreciated the response but i still havent been able to fix it. I still get the message : ' an internal application error has occured" and then nothing else. media player just doesnt run. i have winxp pro with sp2, media player 9 series. i have tried uninstalling it (no luck) tried deleting the media player files manually but for some reason, it keeps popping back in and i cant delete the folder itself "cannot delete windows media player: it is being used by another person or program" when i didnt even load it or used it! what the frag! tried wiping it with a couple of programs that i have that says it will permanently delete the files (no luck) uninstalling it through remove/add windows component. tried upgrading to windows media player 10 (still the same message after upgrade) what on earth should i do? tried uninstalling all my video codecs as well (for those who suggested this before tried it na rin, no luck) no worries naman kasi i use media player classic as my default player but i have some programs (microsoft encarta) that needs it to run. any more suggestions? thanks.

Dude, forget WMP. download and use Quintessential player (its free). It can play most sound files as long as you download and install the plug-ins (free also). :thumbsupsmiley:

  18. 180 - 190 Kmh in NLEX using a Mazda Axela 1.6L, Hard to go faster cause of the portside wind blowing hard and the fun spoilers - slow cars shifting lanes. Steering with this baby was sweet - it was very stable. But the car needs more down force at high speeds.

1986, about 140mph in autobahn highway (Bremen - Munchen) and Dad was driving. I was only 8 then. It was also the first time I saw the Italian power cars just passing-by and man, you'll really drool when you see one. Dad's car was an AMG E-class.

  19. hey guys, is this the place to ask about the best laptop i can get? any of you have experience on buying laptops off ebay?

before buying a laptop please consider the following:

    1. Where it would be used for and type of laptop (desktop replacement, all-purpose notebook, ultra-portable)?

    2. Get at least 40GB of hard drive and 256MB memory

    3. Pick you screen size (14.1 is good).

    4. Consider the attached or built-in optical drive (CD writer, DVD writer etc.)

    5. Always try the keyboard before you buy (some keyboards feel cramped or small)

    6. Look for the I/O ports you will need

    7. Of course don't forget the weight since you will be carrying it.

    8. Lastly, compare the prices.

Good brands/company: Alienware, IBM, Dell, Sony, Toshiba, Fugitsu, HP Compaq, Gateway, and Sys Tech.
