  1. Authentic Japanese for me is Shonan Tei along Mindanao Ave (just after Road 20)

Their expertise in on dishes from Shonan Region of Japan. Don't expect any california maki or any sushi, kasi di daw uso yun dun.

The owner and chef Takashi-san owns an eating place sa Japan, as in parang neighborhood karinderia. So pag pumasok ka sa restaurant, you get the homey vibe din :)

Their Chicken Cheese Katsu are to die for! yun lagi binabalik balikan ko.

Ok din sa Shonan Tei. Medyo pricy but at least masarap. Di sya oily and you feel light after your meal. Not bloated. i wish I could have tried their ramen.

  2. may nakatry na ba dito ng Provenciano or Fat Cousins? last week lang ata nagbukas both. kmusta food? thanks!

I tried Fat Cousins last week. Their menu is just limited. I tried their Australian T-Bone steak, It was bland. BS Marketing that it was marinated for hours with their special sauce. Mas ok pa yung inorder ng gf ko na hungarian sausage which I doubt that they make themselves.

  3. Nagiba na daw timpla sa Yabu ah?.

I was on Ongpin last week. I was craving for noodles. We dined at Ra-Mien. I know it is not an authentic Japanese resto but I had high hopes for the place since their dishes are kinda expensive. Tried their best seller spicy pork ramen. The soup was not that hot, the noodles were soggy even though they were hand made. The broth was not that flavorful.

  4.

Well I hope to be able to dine there before the year ends ...... I'm sure there should be some pics available by then. hehehehehe

In the meantime, may I suggest you try SHONANTEI Japanese Restobar along Mindanao Avenue. If you're looking for a predominantly traditional japanese inspired fare, this place should be a good one to check out.

Anong dishes ang specialty nila?I cant find their menu w/ corresponding prices eh. Thanks

imho, causeway is over-rated. there are other Chinese resto serving much, much better dimsum, noodles/congee. Causeway ala-carte dishes also sucks big time.

yep, overrated talaga yun.

  7. for 299 pesos don't expect a wide range of selections ........ aside from the eat-all-you-can samgyapsal (which the servers will re-fill at your table), the buffet spread has basic korean fare like salad, kimchi, fried rice, kimbaps, chapchae etc etc.

I didn't notice much dessrts except for some fresh fruits.

thanks, dined there last week. I ate 3 plates of pork. It is sweet pero di nakakaumay.I was looking for Tteokbokki pero wala naman, sigh. After all the pork I finished the meal of with green melona =).
