  1.

YOU WERE MY FAIRY TALE PRINCESS,

    SO MUCH LARGER THAN LIFE.

YOU WERE MY ANGEL AND MY WITNESS

THROUGH ALL MY PAIN AND STRIFE.

AT TIMES YOU MADE ME ANGRY,

    GREAT WORDS I WOULD PROCLAIM

    HOW SOMEDAY YOU;D BE SORRY.

YOU WERE THE ONE TO BLAME.

    BUT WHEN I NEEDED COMFORTING

    YOU ALWAYS FOUND THE TIME.

    YOUR WORDS WERE MORE SOOTHING

    THAN DAYS OF CHILDHOOD SUBLIME.

NOW THE DISTANCE HOLDS US APART,

    THE BOUNDARIES HAVE NO END.

I'LL HOLD THE MEMORIES IN MY HEART

YOU'RE MY MOTHER, MY BEST FRIEND

  2. It’s going to be a long and tough drive from Manila to Batangas this Sunday. Tough one because it’s a motorcycle drive of myself and a passenger. Not quite bad for an adventure this weekend…

But an "AUV" ride still an option though.

  3.

  4. Sigurado ka ba dyan? China to invade the Philippines?

  5. I'm reposting an earlier reply which I posted in the Next President sub-forum since it also applies to the role of media in the Philippine setting.

One could consider the media as some sort of king maker. It can magnify the positive attributes of certain politicians as well as the negative attributes of others. Media indeed shapes public opinion whether we like it or not. That said, if I were a politician, I would invest in a media outfit as a silent partner to boost my image rather than resort to old traditional means such as handing out bags of goodies to people to entice them to vote for me. This is just too cumbersome considering the number of people one has to reach out to and the area one needs to cover.

Politics in this day and age will be fought in the media. Projecting oneself on television, radio, and social media is the most effective way to campaign today. If you want to win an election, you need a good media outfit to project yourself in a way that is believable, credible and sincere to the electorate.

Yeah, that makes sense. For some obvious reason, this could also lead to abuse of authority and even exposing their dirty linen to the public. Like what happened to a certain journalist who has attacked by the Liberal Party to force her to disclose the sources of her article about a "Crime Lord" who paid for BBL payola.

  6. I agree. But the government must put up the necessary infrastructure in the provinces so businesses can relocate there. Such infrastructure include road construction, low cost housing for employees, improve electric service, provide tax incentives to businessmen who relocate to provincial areas, etc. The government should also try to entice foreign investors to set up businesses in provincial areas. This will translate to job creation, development of the local economy in these provinces, and provide local government units with much needed taxes.

Ultimately, decongesting Metro Manila is the ideal solution. The metropolis is just too congested now.

And here’s the epic problem why the government can’t set up more infrastructures in the provinces, and that is the endemic corruption especially in the local government. So expect a huge influx of people from many provinces in Metro Manila especially nowadays that the classes in school have just started.
