  1. Now that summer's here, I have a question:

Is there still a good quiet sparsely populated beach in Luzon??? You know, unspoiled but still accessible by car or SUV within 4hrs drive from Manila??

In my opinion, it looks like Luzon has been explored left/right/up/down so the beaches are now devoid of privacy. Therefore, Batangas is out of the question...

Are there still nice beaches in the Quezon province area????

  2. I stumbled upon a 2CD set of Pablo Casals playing Bach's entire cello suites 1 through 6. It was recorded in 1929 and is was simply awesome...

Astor Piazzolla and Carlos Gardel were the "maestros" of the Tango music genre. Piazzolla's "Libertango" and Gardel's "Por Una Cabeza" arranged for a string quartet is truly moving. Even if you don't know how to dance the tango you will be tempted to try a step or two...

Por Una Cabeza was made popular by the movie "True Lies" and "Scent of a Woman"...

Have any of you heard of David Oistrakh, the famous Soviet violinist????

  3. yung mga lumang model na toyota like corolla 91 has timing chain. Pag binuksan m yung engine oil cap while nk-on engine at lumalabas ang oil- timing chain yun. pag nasiraan k ng belt-affected yung mga valve mo, masisira yung pipe. better not to start the engine pg-naputulan ka.

    I used to own a 1990 Toyota AE92 1600 16valve and I remember having a timing belt and not a chain...

Maybe what you see beneath the oil cap are the gears connected to the double overhead cams...

  4. My friendly neighborhood barber here in BF Pque has Sen. Ping Lacson as his celeb customer... He goes to the Senate to have the Honorable Senator's crowning glory trimmed...

To add: I went to the shop yesterday and I noticed a rather tall man whose hair was being trimmed by my barber. He's Ely Capacio, PBA Chairman...

  6. Did anybody check out Royal Taal Inn? It's supposedly located after Picnic Grove coming from Sta. Rosa.

By the looks of it at its website mukhang maganda, but of course it's all in the presentation... The prices look very reasonable too...

  7. Boracay during the Holy Week is like Mega Mall during a sale...

Would you like to get away from the madding crowd only to find them there too???

I'd rather be in a truly isolated place during the Holy Week; and that's Manila!!!!

  8. 2000 - in my ex father in law's 1996 Honda Accord

Was going up the ramp of the Skyway northbound when a Kia Pride had the gall to tailgate me... downshifted to 3rd, floored the gas and drove it like Jenson Button would.... Reached 190 kph in no time flat... It was still willing to go but I can't.....
