pinagsasabay pa nila urbiztondo at tenorio!
small ball talaga dati kasi nga wala silang choice. pero bakit ayaw nila gamitin advantage nila?

6'10 ba si fajardo?
6'9" ang listed height nya last year. would not be surprised kung tumangkad pa yan ng konti, bata pa kasi.
but I think nde naman daw ata magpapa-draft si fajardo

hindi ba request ni toroman is on loan for 2-3 months, continuous?
also, last night dikitan at hindi tambakan but I liked the way they played last night.
what i liked is the speed and crispness of the plays, minimized ang errors, tsaka taas ng rebounding
last night's gilas is the team na may potential

Pacman-Marquez III could turn up to better than the Mosley or even a Mayweather fight.
Marquez will mix it up (not run away) as this is a grudge fight, hindi bale nang bumagsak. And he has some confidence because the 1st 2 fights were close calls. But of course Pacman has improved a lot since his last fight with Marquez, and Marquez might have problems fighting in a heavier weight class. Of course, he has to prove himself first with the match with David Diaz.
With more than one year of lay off, Mayweather is in no condition to fight Pacman outright. Bugbog sarado siya diyan. It's not going to be a good fight. If he wants to fight Pacman with a chance of winning he probably needs to have a tune-up match first para bumalik yung condition.
Better, probably, yes. I just don't see JMM do a Clottey or Mosley.
However, palagay ko this is another one of those "money maker" just to keep the public interested enough if ever may pagasa pa ang pacman-gayweather showdown.
My forecast....Pacquiao in 5.
JMM is coming into this fight with all the disadvantage
He'll be 38 years old by November
Kailangan nyang magpabigat
His last fight at with Mayweather was not at all impressive
MP-JMM is Marquez' retirement fund.
Pacquiao, Bob Arum, Top Rank and their cohorts are the reasons why boxing is in a decaying stage. This boxing mafia is controlling the industry by pitting manny against inferior, old and has been fighters....and Manny is more than a willing victim....gone are the days of Duran, Hagler, sugar ray etc...an era wherein the best fighters are willing to fight each other not just for the money but for the prestige and for the boxing fans!!!! Pacman is a hypocrite...his standard "fighting for country kuno" or "him willing to fight anybody" is a nothing but a bunch of bullshit!!!He can easily say no to Bob Arum and fight the best boxers out there...f#&k him and also those who voted for him... :angry2:
Pre, lets put things in perspective.
Pacquiao's rise to the top did not happen overnight. Why would you risk years of hardwork kung wala maliit lang ang maipapasok nito sa kaban mo?
Pacquiao is 32 (or 33). I figure he'll still be in top form for another 2 or 3 years. Maybe, he's saving up his last fight for these up and comers. Who knows? You know? LOL!

Well, I think siguro that the other teams are "Club" teams and our own Gilas is a "National" team. Dapat talaga tambakan yung kalaban all because Pinoy is an "all-star" team.
-
2 games in, kahit tinambakan ang kalaban on both occasions.....why am I not impressed with Gilas?
-
-
the problem kasi with us is that we are always looking on a short term basis na kapag nagform ng isang national team we expect to bring home the bacon.. remember napakadaming panahon na nasayang sa tin kaya dapat lang na on a long scale ang planning natin. smart gilas is improving and what we can do is to give our full support to this team instead of pulling them down.
if i remember right, Eala's grand plan 3 years ago
1. Get a competent coach with excellent international experience
2. Find a legitimate center and get him naturalized
3. Put together the best local collegiate non-pro basketball players
4. Host the 2012 FIBA-Asia
In that span of time mula nuon madaming nagbago
Natalo tayo sa bid for hosting ng China
May mga UAAP and NCAA standouts ang nagpa-draft, like Al-husseini, Baclao, Meirhoffer, Aguilar dagdag mo pa or naki-alam ang dating BAP (on Fajardo)
Before Douthit, there were 3 or 4 others before him. Douthit essentially joined the team fairly recently lang.

i mean, chot reyes has mentioned a number of times that crowd participation is indeed a concern for any team playing against BGK...
i'm just saying....
-
Walang patutunguhan ang team na ito
nde naman sa ganun.
We'd be fooling ourselves to think na llamado ang SG maka-gold sa FIBA-Asia.
Lets call a spade a spade....even without the PBA reinforcements, i.e. the very same lineup na na-eliminate ng BGK, they would already be competitive enough to be a dark horse to clinch a semis birth, behind (1) China, (2) Iran, (3) Qatar (just my personal assessment as a basketball fan and nothing to do with FIBA rankings).
I'm already sure, they're a much better team than Syria, Taiwan, and even Lebanon.
I also think SG has slight advantage over SoKor, meaning 3/4 times mananalo ang SG.
With Japan however, I think its 50/50....depende kung paano tumalbog ang bola, ika nga.
But unfortunately, the September FIBA-Asia has only one gold medal as prize, and to get it, they'd need to beat China and/or Iran and as the way I see it NOW, that's not going to happen this year...baka next year!
Although, who knows?!? maybe ung 3 months having Asi, Williams, Alapag, and Hontiveros would indeed do wonders!
-
i miss mac cardona
-
PBA should enforce the padlock policy....Naka-padlock ang playing court para walang walk out
Magkaroon pa kaya ulit si chot reyes ng comparative chart on free throws taken?
On the series being physical....naalala ko nun finals series din vs shell. may mga fans who brought placards that say "No violence in sports!" ha ha ha ha!
-
the BGK-Gilas series proves one thing. without douthit, there is no chance in hell Gilas will make it past the quarterfinals of ANY international event, let alone events when China, Iran, and Japan are participating.
Will Asi help them beef up the middle. Yes. But keep in mind, up to this year, Asi has been the starting center of the PH national team and kinabayo na tayo dati, paano pa kaya ngayon?
Also, I recently read an article wherein Toroman said something to the effect that Gilas will not play dirty.....News flash coach, hindi ba yan ang purpose nyo kung bakit kayo sumali ng conference na ito? Na matuto mga boys nyo ng gulangan?
Gilas, as it is, is a competitive team...no doubt about it! But at the end of the day, they still need to be a CHAMPION TEAM, and sadly, I dont see that happening this year.
-
Tanong pala...
-
do you really feel that we can win? sa tagal na nito parang hindi pa mabuo ng maayos ung team. lagi na lang may dagdag bawas. its funny na ung start they say its a developmental team to produce players for the national team.
as we go on the issues of the team never stops whether its the need for a big man, a better scorer etc etc etc
and now resorted to pba players. to me its already losing its essence . . . . .
not entirely, kasi ako from the start naniniwala ako that smart-gilas' intention to start from the grass root is the way to go, kaso mo nga bitin talaga panahon (kahit sabihin na 3 years) para bumuo ng gold medal caliber team...hence you need to supplement it with PBA standouts.

Brod, best of 5 lang pala ang semis, best of 3 ang quarters: 2011 COMMISSIONER’S CUP FORMAT
This is assuming, na manalo nga over BGK sa RoS (sana 2 straight games).
I would agree, coming up against SG, BGK's biggest advantage is their ability to change their game-style in a series.
However, SG, since its inception is trained on one thing only, shock and awe, regardless kung sino kalaban. Para bang one size fits all.
So meaning, hindi sila sanay to adjust sa PBA teams.
Since, BGK thread ito. BGK in 5.
Assuming, of course, matalo nga nila si hambog na kalbo.

Alaska pull off their punches against Air21 last night just so to avoid BGK in the quarters (...just my opinion 'though)
they pulled their punches alright but not for that reason.
Hindi magtatapat ang Aces at BGK dahil sa win over the other rule.
- BGK (by virtue of quotient) is now #3, whereas Aces is #4
- Llamados are eliminated. Llamados would have higher quotient over Air21 kung natalo ang Air21
Llamados is by far, the more dangerous team over Air21 or RoS. Ginawang mas madali ng Alaka ang kalaban for both BGK and themselves by eliminating Llamados.
Also, this means if they survive the quarters (which is a likelihood), ang makakatapat nila is ung #1 team - TnT.
At ang nagaabang sa BGK after RoS? Smart-Gilas.
Ngayon, sino ang mas nakaka-gimbal na kalaban, Gilas or TnT?
Barangay Ginebra Kings
